Right away I got a great feeling as Victoria helped set up the initial appointment and was great in communicating and confirming the appointment the day before Robert came out. Robert is very friendly and super knowledgeable on how to tackle my situation. He explained the best way to run the outlet without tearing up the drywall and to best run the conduit around existing garage door opener mounts. Our church needed a plug added and a GFCI plug replaced. These were done efficiently and professionally. The electrician recommended installing the plug in a way that was beneficial to us. I had two junction boxes that were open, and he explained how that wasn't up to code and he proceeded to repair/replace existing wiring to close the junction boxes and bring it up to code. During this pandemic I have had a hard time getting electricians to come out for repairs. I had flaky ones who no showed or did not do the work, way overpriced ones, and finally Bolt Electric. The electrician came out, charged an estimate fee which was applied to the work, and evaluated my concerns. When he looked at the electrical panel on the house and for my AC units he presented me with options for the work I wanted done (stand alone electric supply for my jacuzzi). In addition he advised me that my electric panel was ideal for a generator hook up and also suggested a surge protector for the panel. I was emailed a quote for the work and compared the estimate to another electrician and found the price to be fair. I gave the go ahead to order the parts and set up a date for installation. I had to move the installation date back by a day which was not a problem for the company to accommodate. The electricians showed up on time and did a professional installation. I was advised of a couple issues and options (not an upsell but a legitimate problem with my existing equipment that I was unaware of since I just purchased the house). I was on the fence about the generator hook up but after talking to my neighbors about the rolling power outage from the 2021 freeze I opted for it to ensure my family would have power no matter what. These guys are on point. I need to run some tools that pull high amps in my garage but my new house only came with 1 outlet. First let's start at the end: Bolt's craftsmanship was pretty damn good. His work looked 10 x's better than anything I've seen in this 2018 home. This guy made the home builder look flat out incompetent. The finished product was clean and classy. He even labeled the new breakers for me inside the breaker box. So back to the beginning; the electrician and I talked about what I was trying to achieve, and he gave me a few options and dropped his recommendation on what would be the safest, easiest and most functional for my request. I took his recommendation, he was in an out in less than an hour. The price. Well you get what you pay for right?!?. I needed someone to rewrite my home's breaker box. I'm not trying to get killed or burn the place down. The electrician explained what he's doing and why he's doing it. I'm sure I could have saved $10 or $20 bucks, but why? Ronnie is deserving of my confidence on many things. I needed to have my main panel replaced with all of the connections and breakers, as well as the ground connection fixed and tested. I had bought a renovated 1979 house that had some electrical citations on the inspection I needed fixed. I e-mailed the inspection report to five electricians I found here on yelp asking for an estimate on the work listed in it. Ronnie was the only one to call me back, talk through the actual implications of what the inspector cited, and then reply with a formal written estimate. Others shot back a quick e-mail rattling off some numbers (a few slightly cheaper), but Ronnie was a professional in how he handled the bid so I felt confident the workmanship would be good. He explained he could make an afternoon appointment to do part of the work and would come a second day to handle attic work so it wouldn't be so hot up there. As he tackled the tasks on the report, he explained everything, showed me the finished product, and answered some additional questions I had outside of the inspection results. When it came time for the follow-up appointment on a Saturday morning, he was fifteen minutes early and ready to go, and threw in a ceiling fan adjustment I had asked about as a complementary service. When I had problems with several outlets in my home, I called Bolt Electric. The people on the phones were very friendly and informative and helped me schedule an appointment. The day of the appointment, the electrician was running a little late, but he gave me ample notice and asked about my problem before coming over to ensure he had the proper supplies. When he got to my home, he identified the problem immediately and fixed it in less than 15 minutes and explained what he was doing throughout the process. BAIT AND SWITCH. I needed an electrician for 8 hours to install several items in my new house and was given a verbal quote over the phone which was a reasonable price however after the job was done they charged me a significantly difference price which was over $500 from the original quote. Good work but bad business practices. Be wary Response to their explanation; I'm active duty military for 24 years and would never not pay for a service that was done for me and my family. We just transferred here from California and purchased a new house. I called around S.A. for the best price electrician so when I called Bolt Electric to hire an electrician for 8 hours they gave me specific pricing over the phone which was reasonable so I booked them for a day when I would be in town. I have several issues which was not mentioned in their response. 1. They did give me different pricing over the phone than what they charged me period. Lessons learned, ask for an invoice showing what they are charging so you have it in writing before the job which I never received. 2. As far as the second electrician, the lead electrician actually told me he didn't need him to hang the high ceiling fan, at that point he should had let him go. If I knew the real cost for the second electrician I would have had him gone in a quick minute. 3. I was also kind enough to invite the electrician to eat pizza that I had bought for my flooring guys that were working on my new floors that day. If I knew the real price I was paying I would have never had him on a lunch break on my dime. Again, the electrician did good work but make sure you get their quote in writing. They did pursue me with a lawyer for the additional money which I didn't pay them for which was for my cancelled check fee, the second electrician who didn't do what he was hired to do, and the half hour lunch break that the lead electrician was more than happy to take. Honestly, if I had time to retain a lawyer and take what the judge would have given I would have taken my chances. read more
