The food was nothing special, same food you can get at any other greasy spoon restaurant in a 50 mile radius. The service was incredibly slow, and we were only one of 3 tables in the restaurant. Breakfast ends at 11am, and although arriving at 10:30, we were only given lunch menus. The interior is dated, although appears clean. Our meal got interrupted twice, once to ask to collect the bowl of creamers we weren't using. The 2nd time to collect the jelly packets we weren't using. Overall nothing special, Likely won't be back.

A 100% sanitation rating is something to brag about, too! We have visited several times for lunch on our trips from Monroe to Marshville. All the food we have tasted was cooked perfectly, seasoned properly, and plated wonderfully. While it's tough to choose a favorite, the Cubano tugs continually at my heart begging for more. And its huge, too! I took home a half sandwich and weighed it: 9 ounces! That's a lunker. In town and looking to satisfy your appetite? Look no further than Ms Allie's Cafe. Having driven by many times, it caught my attention from a Yelp review. And I am so happy I found it. Order at the counter from a single page menu, take a seat, and watch 'em work the grill and fryers preparing your meal. Easy, peasy. And so good, too. I've been here twice ordering a dog and tater tots on my first visit, and a cheeseburger and potato salad on the second. Both were excellent and I'll be back for another round. Being a tiny, family owned business they rely on frozen items from their vendors for certain items (fries, tots, tenders). Who doesn't really? They're not competing against Bobby Flay or Shake Shack, so I give 'em a pass. In town and need nourishment? Has my "Give 'em a Whirl" meter drolling for another cheeseburger and fries. Go here.

Let's start with there was no line today! I anticipated a…read moreline as they're open on Saturdays and being that it was a holiday, I knew people would be out there. However there wasn't so we were able to walk right on in. There were some folks inside as well, and tables for us to sit. It's similar to most BBQ places where you order your meats by the pound. We had brisket, ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. Literally just pulled the bone out. The flavors were outstanding. There was bbq sauce but truly wasn't needed, more just to enhance the flavors. The brisket was moist and tender. Seasoned to perfection. It as well needed nothing more. The pork was really good. Tender and juicy. We had a few sides but the most amazing one was the watermelon salad. With the mint, lime, cojita cheese, cucumbers, and red onions it was mind blowing. The way everything in the salad blended so well together was perfection. The Mac and cheese were just as top tier. The way the cheese pulled, the kick it had you could tell this was recipe that has been used for years. There was a bite to it and it was perfect. We also had the Mexican street corn that burst with so many flavors. And lastly we tried the hash brown casserole. It was definitely different but equally as delicious. The service was quick. The ladies that assisted us with our sides were the most friendliest. They encouraged us on the selection of sides, and shared their favorites with us. Overall one of the best BBQ I've had, definitely the best BBQ in NC.

We arrived at 9:45 on a chilly, drizzly day and there were probably 50 people in line ahead of us. There was a friendly staff member monitoring and organizing the line and she told us we were there on a 'slow' day because of the weather. After the restaurant opened at 11, we waited in line for probably another 45 minutes until we got inside to order. The brisket was great, but the best things we had were the kolaches (stuffed breakfast rolls available before they open), Cheerwine hot link sausage, and fruit crisp. The Cheerwine sausage was the biggest surprise. It had a great flavor and wasn't sweet - I've never had anything like it before. When we get a chance to go back, we'll probably skip the pulled pork and mac & cheese. They were fine but there's a lot to try and these weren't anything special.
