This is the best bbq and is 100% worth the wait! They are only open on Saturday and the line starts early. If you don't want to sit in line all morning you can go later but they might be out of some things. We went this weekend and went around 2. We waited outside for about 30 minutes in a short line and then inside it took about 30 minutes waiting plus ordering time but so worth it! We got brisket, bacon burnt ends, short ribs and Mac and cheese. They were out of a few things we wanted to try but we'll be back! The brisket was so flavorful and moist. We got the less fatty because I dont like fat! The bacon burnt ends are so good! Even the fatty part is amazing and flavorful and I hate fat! The mac and cheese is cheesy and so good. If you like bbq this is a must try. The inside is small we took ours to go because it's not far for us. Be prepared to wait but its worth it.

The bbq was pretty good. Service was very nice. Ambiance was good. There was a line but the wait wasn't too bad.

As a whole experience, this is worth the 4+hour wait (next time I need to remember to bring lawn chairs and some games). Bacon Burnt Ends (5/5): ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! These were meaty, but also had just the right amount of melt-in-your-mouth fat. The sweet, sticky glaze was also fantastic. Need to get at least a full pound next time. Queso Texicano Hot Link (5/5): GREAT snap to the sausage. Nice amount of heat with melt queso inside. Very good. G's Burger Tater Tot Casserole (5/5): Pretty much what you expect with tater tots, ground burger, and cheese. My favorite side. Beef Ribs (5/5): Meaty, fatty, and full of flavor. The bark was maybe a bit too salty, but had a great texture. Brisket Breakfast Taco (5/5): A great blend of flavors. The smoky brisket with the sweet and spicy candied jalapenos was great. I also liked the smoked tallow tortillas a lot. Cheerwine Hot Link (4/5): GREAT snap to the sausage. Just a bit sweet, but I couldn't necessarily identity the cherry flavor. Spare Ribs (4/5): Good ribs with lots of meat, but could've used a little more smoke. It also tasted a little too much like ham for me. Brisket (4/5): Decent brisket, but definitely get the moist brisket. The lean brisket was too dry. Brisket Fried Rice (4/5): Good fried rice, but a little heavy on the soy. The yum yum sauce helped balance that out though. Mac n Cheese (4/5): Pretty standard mac n cheese. Cookies n Cream Kolach (3/5): Nice frosting with the cookie crumbles, but the bread part tasted like just a roll. Jalapeno Cheese Grits (3/5): Was hoping for some more flavor, but I liked the candied jalapenos on top. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Delicious food and reasonable price! Enjoyed the porkyB taco and mac and cheese. For $10 total, it's definitely on the more affordable side of food truck fare! The taco was delicious, fully loaded. Queso was the perfect add. And the Mac and cheese was thick and cheesy. I can see why this place is popular. There was a long wait even before they officially opened their popup (this was a food truck event at Humbug in Plaza Midwood). Glad we lined up early!

After three years of living in Charlotte and hearing the constant praise about Jon G's BBQ out in Peachland, I finally made the pilgrimage this past Saturday. With Passover falling on the same day, I figured what better way to honor the holiday than with my own BBQ Seder plate: brisket, burnt ends, and pickled onions absolutely included. I woke up at 6:30 AM and made it there by 7:15, landing a spot among the first 20 in line. By 9:30 AM, I was warming up with a breakfast taco and kolache (because lining up for meat should always include a warm-up round). Lunch service kicked off at 10:30 AM, and since the line wraps around the building and they tend to sell out fast, I did the only logical thing, ordered basically everything. Here's what made it onto my tray: * Brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, spare ribs, and white brisket (aka sliced pork belly with Peach-Os) * Cheerwine hotlink and Queso Texicano hotlink * Bacon burnt ends that should honestly be illegal * Mac & cheese, jalapeño cheese grits, burger tater tot casserole, brisket fried rice, brown sugar baked beans, pickles, pickled red onion, yeast rolls * And to finish it off, a big ol' serving of banana pudding for dessert Every single item hit the mark. No notes. No complaints. This is the kind of Texas-style BBQ that outshines anything else you'll find within an hour of Charlotte. It's not an every-weekend kind of stop, but it's absolutely worth the drive a few times a year, especially during the cooler spring or fall months when standing in line isn't a survival sport. Pro tips: * Get there early (like... sunrise early). * Expect a line. * Bring a folding chair, maybe a cooler and some Tupperware to bring leftovers home or freeze some for a rainy day. * They pass out free beer while you wait, but you're welcome to BYOB.

The Best BBQ I have ever had! Planning our next visit! Everything perfectly seasoned! Tried a little bit of everything!

As usual, everything was phenomenal. The grits weren't that great reheated but everything else is solid for a few days in the fridge!

10's across the board!! DO NOT leave this place without trying the brisket and beef ribs!! Best we've ever had in our lives. Do yourself a favor and read some reviews before your adventure. I'm so glad I did! We got there at 8:45 and ate around 1:30. Everyone lines up outside in their yard chairs, awaiting the 11:00 am opening. Koulaches are served from the food truck at 9:30 and they sell out *quick*. I got in line at 9:50 and several koulache flavors were already crossed off their menu. They fill up the free beer cooler every 45 minutes with local beer. Limit 2 beers per customer but it is an honor system. Just bring your own like we did. Some items you'll need: Yard chairs Cooler packed - alcohol is permitted Umbrella/tent for shade (or a rainy day) **Paper plates, extra silverware, napkins/roll of paper towels Tupperware from home Some people brought cards & games to pass the time **They give you butcher's paper but we found that my extra paper plates worked better. Also, it was so easy to pack up leftovers in tupperware I brought from home. Otherwise, you have to go back inside and ask for to-go containers. It truly is a BBQ tailgate extravaganza! Take the time to enjoy yourself, make friends with your neighbors, and work up an appetite! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Can't wait to go back.

Birthday feast! Healthy wait but only made us more hungry and excited. It met all our expectations. The guys slicing the brisket proudly organize the tray and touch the presented brisket with beef jus. The pulled pork was amazing and their sauces were great. This is definitely a destination dinner.

This was the best BBQ I had in my entire life. We arrived at 9 am and there was probably 100 people front of us. We got our food around 1pm but it was worth it. It was great to meet people waiting in line. We met Jon G and he was very nice. Our favorite was the beef rib and brisket. They had free beer while waiting in line and water too. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to go.

What an awesome time at Jon G' Barbecue! Now the line is long and you have to wait outside. They have chairs for you and you get the opportunity to meet new people and have great conversation. The food is out of this world! I got the brisket sandwich, the mac and cheese was delicious and cheesy throughout. The baked beans were good too. Now if you don't want to travel to Peachland NC you can catch the food truck in Charlotte just follow them on Instagram. I almost forget to mention how friendly the staff was we had a great time!

What a great day for Texas BBQ in NC, well Texas and NC BBQ cause you know I got both! I've been itching to try this BBQ for so long and today was a beautiful day to drive down and stand in line and get my BBQ! The line wasn't bad. It took about 1:30 hours to get through the line and order. I don't drink beer so I wish I had brought something to drink for the line. Truthfully I wasn't very prepared for the line. Other people had chairs, coolers, snacks and even their dogs. I will definitely come prepared next time. I ordered from the food truck the Carolina BBQ Plate. I took a few bites and then sent it to share with my family sitting in the car. The beans were delicious. Made me get a pint when I got inside. The barbecue had just enough of the vinegar. Based barbecue sauce on it to give it a delicious flavor. This little sample prepared me for the large amount that I ordered inside. Once inside I sent the Nibling to order us a drink. We had to have Cheerwine duh. It was so refreshing after standing in line. It took me a while in line to iron out my choices, but I decided on 1.25 lb of brisket, half a pound of pork, half a pound of turkey, a Porky Brewster with Queso, one of each of the kolaches, a half pint of corn salad, a half pint of grits, a pint of macaroni and cheese, a pint of brown sugar baked beans, 2 pints of brisket fried rice and a pint of dill pickles. I would say my least favorite was the smoked turkey. I don't like smoked turkey. Smoked turkey does nothing for me. It's a personal thing against smoked turkey but I'm glad I tried it. I'm going to use it on a salad and I know it will be a great addition. I opted on lean and fatty brisket. I don't like fatty pieces of meat, but the lean brisket was a little too lean for me. I dipped it in BBQ sauce and I'm weird I know. My favorites were the Porky Brewster, jalapeño grits, the fried rice covered in yum yum sauce, and the baked beans. I've enjoyed each of the kolaches that we ordered also. Overall I think I will eat there next time. I will make sure it's a good weather day and utilize the outdoor seating. We ordered everything togo this time and snacked on a few things in the car but ate the majority of the items for dinner. Everything reheated well. Everyone working was super friendly and kind. They answered all questions and made you feel at home. It was a great atmosphere. I will take the drive down again and I will be prepared next time! The line was outside the door, people were standing in the rain - so you know it must be good.
