(The last time I went to a chiro the guy tried to use a electric clicker down my back and then wanted me to sign up for 25 sessions of that!! NO THANKS) that was 10 years ago. I figured all Chiros were the same so I kinda wrote them off and stuck to foam rolling and some lacross ball work. I was visiting my Family in Meridian for a week but not without first throwing my back out loading luggage into the back of an Uber on our way to PHX Airport last Friday evening . I'm in my 30s and threw my back out, but according to Dr. White, it happens quite often! I thought I was in for a week of inactivity and moping around but that all changed when my little sister recommended I call a chiro that's open on Saturday. I am so grateful that Dr. White answered the phone and was sympathetic to my situation, got an appt. the next morning! I was floored by his knowledge and ability to teach it while he performed hands on treatment. He could feel where the underlying issues were and even get to the bottom of what created the angry situation my muscles and joints were undergoing. I was at a level 10 pain and within a few hours after the first Pain Treatment my level was at a 3! I mad two more appointments with him, I saw him every other day while I was in town, even my Wife who didn't think she needed it gave it a try and we found out she was just as wound up if not more than I was lol! I say he transformed my life because he gave me the experience I wish I had been given a decade ago! I now know there is tremendous value in having scheduled Visits with a Chripractor and not just any but one that shows up and gives 110% to his/her patients! I couldn't wait for my 24 visit recheck to write this review. This practice is unlike any…read morechiropractic you've ever been to. Unlike standard chiropractors, you aren't treated like a cash cow to be milked 3x a week for a 40 second adjustment that never really gives you any real correction- just pain relief at best. This incredible practice uses adjustments. But they also use devices to vibrate your muscles and adjust your spine with a 'thumping' clicker. The main difference in this practice is that you get put into specialized traction devices that actually retrain your brain and spine to correct your alignment. They aren't painful and it's absolutely incredible what this can do. It's 1000x more effective than adjustments alone. You also get stretches and exercises to do at home. There is also a slew of supplements, kinesiology tape, pain relief, specialized pillows, neck wedges and all manner of "this will help you" there. I saw Dr. Joe years ago and he was the ONLY chiropractor, out of several dozen, that I've worked with, who actually got REAL CORRECTION in my back. Unfortunately I moved out of state 5 years ago and wasn't able to finish my treatment. My back only got progressively worse. At 39 I was in such constant, extreme pain that I actually sold my house to move back to Boise and go back to Dr. Joe. Sounds extreme doesn't it? On my first visit I told Dr. Joe that it would be worth it to me if he could just tell me why I'm in such horrible pain. 3 seconds of looking at the x-rays my doctors and other chiros looked at and thought were fine, he was able to show me how drastically misaligned my spine was. I thought it would take years to get it better. And I'm very low income, on disability. I didn't think I could afford it. But honestly, I couldn't afford not to come here. This was the reason I came back. I was ready to go into serious debt on my credit cards for the chance of getting out of this godforsaken pain that has sucked my life away. Turns out I didn't need to worry. They have a program that discounts services for disabled and severely low-income people. My God I feel so blessed. Only 24 visits later and I just got to examine my new xrays. I wasn't expecting there to be any real change because I only go 2x a week, and ended up missing a lot of 2nd appointments, as Dr. Joe is so in demand as a teacher he is always leaving to fly around the country giving seminars. (Yeah. You could be lucky enough to get a doctor of his caliber working on your back, right here in Boise!) I also wasn't able to do any of my home exercises because of the pain I have. So I was certain there wouldn't be any real change yet. I almost died when I saw the xrays. He has a program that superimposes a green line for where your spine should be and a red line for where it is. That way you can measure the degree to which you need correction. Mine was very severely off of where it should be when I started. 24 visits later and I'm almost in perfect correction in most of my areas! I really think it's impossible. But it actually happened. So Dr. Joe recommended I come in once a week from now on (AFTER ONLY 24 VISITS! When was the last time your chiropractor said you should come in less?!!) I've been in a daze since. I honestly thought it would take years to get my back sorted out. It really was in dire condition. I honestly feel like this has been a miracle. And everyone in this practice is so nice. They greet you by name and you feel like you're family. Gracie takes care of you like a second mother. Everyone is extremely competent and devoted to patient care. In closing, if you are in pain, don't waste your time or money on regular chiropractic that doesn't work. I can almost guarantee they won't do anything for you but take your money 3x a week, possibly giving some temporary pain relief. Don't let this opportunity pass you by like I did all those years ago. I ended up losing so much of my life to pain, and all because I didn't stick with the only thing that really works. I'm kicking myself now. I never should have moved away.
