Neil & Fiona of MXBloom were our power couple duo that provided both photography & videography services. Back in fall of 2022, they did our engagement shoot. We originally weren't that interested in doing one, but that was one of the best decisions because it allowed us to interact with Fiona (& Neil) before our big day. She directed us, captured our moments beautifully, and was so fun to work with. On our big day, Neil & Fiona were a rockstar team! They were professional, polite, AND also so much fun to have around! What I found particularly striking was their ability to capture the candid and posed moments throughout the day, without us feeling like we had to break from "being in the moment" (if that makes sense.) You could tell throughout the entire time, they were both "on" and trying to identify all the amazing, key moments to photograph/video. There were several times we had to shift our timeline during the wedding, and they were both very responsive and accommodating to those changes. They worked so well with our DJ/MC Alan (which by the way, is such an important aspect - vendors being able to work together like one team.) Their service and value provided was worth every cent. And given our wedding was a blending of our Asian (Chinese/Vietnamese) heritage and Western upbringing, we felt Fiona & Neil were the PERFECT people to document our big day. It was also such a touching moment seeing how my parents, who speak Chinese Mandarin, were able to make conversation with Neil & Fiona. Oh, one other mind-blowing fact. Fiona was about 7.5 months pregnant when she was working on our wedding day. Yet, the way she carried herself and energy she brought, you couldn't tell she was pregnant at all! A superwoman! She went into a big sales pitch before we signed with her telling all the stuff that it included so we were very excited- especially since her work looks great. When we got our engagement photos back and they looked terrible. We purchased and extended 2 hours with her for about $500. During this time she stopped to take personal photos of items that inspired her. Of the actually photos we got back 70% of them were not us together and most of which were my husband. She was big on taking photos of us separately. We had so few pictures to choose from and they were terrible. When we spoke to her about this she said that the "magic" happens when she uses Photoshop. What she didn't tell us is that each image she Photoshop's costs $50 per image. The kicker- you don't a digital copy of the CD. She talked our whole engagement session about all the famous Seahawks she photographs and how we need to purchase prints from her to get the digital copy of anything- any even then it would only be that image. She constantly tried to up sale us during our engagement session on larger packages- like $16,000!!!! Our contract clearly stated that we received digital copies of all images. And she did other items that contradicted our contract. We negotiated out of our contract with her and selected an amazing photographer that took images that were amazing WITHOUT needing to be Photoshoped. Luckily we only did engagement photos with her. I would NOT recommend Janet to brides, grooms, or families.

I cherish the images she captures of my family, especially the kids as babies and as they change over the years. (My kids are completely at ease around Janet, which helps make sessions go smoothly. Signs direct you to the side entrance of a nondescript commercial building, where on the second floor is the little photo business. Selfie Avenue not only has the popular Life4Cuts selfie Photo Booth, but also has a self-photo studio that can be booked in advance. They have a dressing room onsite for outfit changes, a vanity area for touch-ups and lots of fun props to choose from. It feels like it's been opened fairly recently as the establishment was clean and quiet when we visited. Selfie Avenue is open from Monday to Sunday, 11AM to 8PM, so pop on by for a few fun photos!
