I was not in a good place making arrangements for my mother (7/11/22). Less than 30 hours later…read more(7/12), plans changed & I cancelled via phone call and email. I called the establishment and was told to get a typed statement that I cancelled the transaction (7/14) to begin the process of my refund. On 7/25 I was informed that I wasn't due a refund; why did it take this long to inform me of this? Not listed in the terms and conditions and above the signature, (I will admit I missed it because it wasn't with the terms and conditions), "If you purchase this Agreement anywhere other than Firm's place of business the following applies [...] Purchaser, may cancel at any time [...]" I asked Sarasota and their holding company in Gainesville where the heck was I supposed to go to make the arrangements, across the street at the convenience store? What kind of place takes advantage of one grieving? I was told it is up for interpretation for how the statement was phrased. The advice was I could get a broker to sell the niche to which I paid $4.461.00. I tried to pay with a credit card & it wouldn't go through even though I had funds to cover it; ironically my debit card went through. My credit card company told me no such transaction was ever ran through the system on 7/11. They knew I could reverse the charge using a credit card. They used my venerability to swindle me out of my money. A funeral company?? Despicable. I have tried several avenues to get my money back and I am still trying (9/5). DO NOT GO HERE.

The response we received was far from a comfortable situation for our attorney. They reminded us of Sears and it's " Life Time Guarantee" Since that time we have noticed Eternal Reef is using many different company names to market their products. It appears they are trying to get away from their bad reputation by marketing under a fitious name. Mixing the ashes of your loved one together with the cement mixture, you can create a home for wildlife under the sea. And life goes on. The people at Reef Innovations and Eternal Reefs are amazingly professional. Not only do they do their job well, they work very well with the people who come through. They understand that they are doing something very special, but at the same time, something that is very emotional. They do it with finesse, understanding, as well as a sense of humour. The process is a two day process, each day about one month apart from each other. On the first day, you will create the reef my mixing the remains with cement. You then decorate your reef with handprints and shells if you choose to. And each reef will have a beautiful plaque on it (which is added by the team there a few days after you create the reef itself), with the name of your loved one on it. A month later you will come back for the viewing and the sinking of your reef. The reef is dried and ready to become part of a new reef colony. After the reef has been sunk, you can snorkel or dive it. Because it's at about 30ft depth, it's easy to visit. This is a very interesting way to do something different to a standard, traditional funeral. Granted, I'm sure it's not for everyone. But for anyone who is looking for something non-traditional, this is a great idea. And it leaves something beautiful behind, that will help the underwater world thrive.
