At the beginning Paul (Boffo Video) was great. These guys definitely know how to make a video and are very creative. No negative comments about their videography skills. However, when it comes to the business side, I suggest taking a class on communications (customer service). My wife and I were married in November 2011 and we were promised a 30-45 minute cinematic movie (wedding video) by mid February 2012. After several emails and excuses, we found out on May 5th that Boffo Video lost a portion of the raw footage; they did contact the hard drive manufacturer to try to recover the lost footage, but the manufacturer was not successful. Even though they lost a portion of the raw footage, Paul still promised me a wedding video. After a few more weeks, nothing that I know of was produced and my wife and I were just tired of it. After several more calls and FB messages, I finally got a hold of Paul and on June 28th I basically negotiated 60% of my prepaid money back. I've heard several wedding vendor "horror stories" and I really did not expect that with Boffo Video and I actually considered them great guys. I lost my respect and confidence with this company, not because they lost a portion of my wedding raw footage or because they never produced a 30-45 minute cinematic movie, but because of the dishonesty and lack of communication with Paul; he specifically told me he was too scared to tell me that he lost a portion of the raw footage. At that moment, I told him its better to tell the truth than to cover up with lies. There were times where I could not get a hold of them; I would send a FB message or call and not hear anything so I was forced to leave a FB posting and then finally got a response. If they were honest at the beginning, provided updates and just communicated with me, I would have more respect and confidence with Boffo Video. The highlight video I received turned out great; so I do think they are great videographers, but not so great on the business side. Paid for a 30 -45 minute cinematic movie (three DVD copies), a 3-5 minute highlights video, raw footage DVD, and eight hours of coverage (includes: high definition, two filmmakers and two cameras). When I initially set up the appointment with Stella over the phone, I couldn't have been happier with the great customer service she provided and genuine tone of interest. After our in-person in counter and review of their previous work my fiance and I knew we had to book them so we did! :) As the date approached they followed-up on the details of the wedding and even provided us with suggestions/reminders on what to avoid and what to do. For example (to do), ask the officiant to step aside for the first kiss. Another example (not to do), for Bride's hair, to be mindful of hair not covering the side of the face, especially the angle facing the crowd. Great suggestions/reminders, right? On May 21, 2016 my now husband and I were blessed with having this incredible team film our special day. They arrived on time to our hotel where I was getting ready. All of their staff was friendly and welcoming I specifically appreciated one of the staff members who spoke Spanish to facilitate communication wth my mother & mother-in-law who don't speak English. It has been such a pleasure getting to know the Boffo family (and when you meet the team, and you spend a little time with them, you'll truly get the sense of a close-knit family!) They shot our wedding but also prepared a slide show for us and a short trailer. Even though we haven't received the dvd yet, if the slide show and trailer are any indication of the final product, it is a solid 5 stars from us!!! We felt so comfortable and welcome around Boffo from the first meeting at their office in Fullerton to the actual wedding day and follow up afterwards. At the initial meeting, we watched some of the other videos/weddings they shot and I found myself in tears from how beautifully they captured the best day of these couples' lives. It was a sneak peek into the treat that was coming our way! Paul and Bea have a great sense of humor, are super creative, and have a good sense of their couples' unique styles. Boffo just isn't your run of the mill wedding videographer - they have a secret weapon in Tyler and his digital art/special effects ninja skills. My husband and I are unfortunately really camera shy which made brainstorming our thank you snippet awkward. We ran a bunch of ideas and came up with a cute "flower graffiti" idea. In searching for a videographer, we stumbled upon Boffo Video. Not only was Boffo close to our home, they were also very affordable that we couldn't believe if they were real! So we called to schedule an appointment, and they easily accommodated us to fit our schedule. Please keep in mind that my fiance and I were planning a wedding in just a few months, and things got really stressful sometimes. However, the staff at Boffo were so friendly, and they never rushed or pressured us in any way. In fact, they gave us great advice, and they even helped us look for other vendors! On the day of our wedding, Zean and Stella came out to shoot the video. They were never once intruding in our wedding, or in the way at any time! Whenever something fun or eventful was happening, they were there to capture the moment! Also they were all smiles and looked genuinely excited to be part of our wedding day. Once we got our wedding video highlights, we fell in love. We still watch our wedding video from time to time because we enjoy it so much. At first, we were not going to get a wedding videographer because we heard from our friends that they never even watched their video more than a handful of times. We thought about cutting video out to save some money if we weren't going to watch it anyways! However, we bet our friends didn't have a great video like we do from Boffo Video because we still watch it! Our video brings back smiles and the emotions of the day for us. We got married on May 16th 2015 at the Bissell House in South Pasadena. We booked BOFFO as one of our very first vendors. As video and photos were very important to us! They were recommend by my cousin who had used them for her wedding. We met with Paul and Stella at the office in fullerton. I cried! watching all the wonderful wedding videos. I got married June of last year 2012 and let me tell you that my experience with them from beginning to end was smooth and I knew we were in good hands and wouldn't have to worry about a thing. When we went in, my husband and I were introduced to one of the videographers Zean, and both Paul and Zean showed us the work they did and we were truly excited because we knew our video would be amazing ! There are almost no words to express how amazing Boffo Video is. I was the bride who knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding and for some reason, I didn't think I needed a videographer. About a week before our wedding, I saw a friends wedding video and cried, thinking how upset I was that I didn't have a videographer. So I took to yelp... I found them on Sunday night and emailed them, they contacted me on Monday to let me know they had Zean available and on Tuesday (4 days before my wedding!!!) I booked Boffo. The office is easy to find, it's obviously a small company being ran by people who really care. When I walked in on Tuesday, they were editing away and Paul let me sit and watch a video from another couples wedding. I was sold! I booked them right on the spot. They asked a ton of questions about our day, who we were as a couple and told us to pick about 10 songs for the highlights and wedding video. From that point on, I didn't give it a second thought, I knew that I could trust Boffo with my wedding day. On the day of our wedding, Zean arrived on time with a 2nd videographer, both dressed appropriately for the day. They got right to work but they always seemed to be "in the background." None of my guests or bridal party ever once complained that they felt like they were being followed and I loved the attention :) They blended into the background during our ceremony and were always around for the best parts of our reception. Anytime I felt something important was happening, I would look around and see Zean. Cut to about a month or so later, we received our highlights video. One of the most beautiful videos I've seen. They aren't your typical "wedding video", it's a production and an art to them. They very clearly care about their work and it shows in the video. Just last weekend, we received our full video. Just when I thought things couldn't get better, they did. Such an amazing piece of work that brought tears to my eyes (and several family members) Their work isn't the kind of video that bores people to death when they watch it, my family loved it. More importantly, my husband and I love it. I'm so glad that I made the decision to book Boffo at the last minute. They were worth every penny spent, but for what it's worth, their prices are much better than companies putting together videos that look like they were made in 1983. Boffo Video was hired by the bride and groom, but as the wedding planner, I was asked to check out their work. I think their videos are very cute and sweet (like them!) and I liked that each video really showcased the personality and style of the couple. I coordinated with them before the wedding and on the day of to make sure everyone was on the same page. Both Paul and Stella were very professional and easy to work with. They were very unobtrusive in their filming and were always ready for the next shot. You can tell they've done a lot of weddings because they planned ahead, work together really well, and also let me know what they were going to do or need. It's been a year since my wedding and I really should've written this sooner. Paul, Stella, and the whole Boffo team did an amazing job on my wedding video. They were very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. Paul did our love story video and he was very fun to work with. My husband and I decided not to take engagement photos but we wanted to have some pictures to showcase in our wedding. Paul helped us out and took some photos for us during our video session. I was a little bumped out when Paul couldn't do our wedding due to a conflict, but Zean and Tyler turned out to be amazing too! We got our highlight video pretty fast and I love every minute of it. When I got the first draft of the long video, there were some changes I wanted to make (parts not due to Boffo's fault, but because I had a tea ceremony in Chinese and I wanted to cut out some conversation). Stella really listened to every little concerns I had and helped me fix the video until I was completely satisfied with it. Frankly, they had already received their full payment and could've easily drop the ball like alot of my other vendors did after they got hired/paid. But Boffo didn't. They were very patient with me and that's why they are so good and professional at what they do. We didn't think we could have a wedding videographer due to our budget, but Boffo made it happen for us! Not only were they reasonably priced, they were a joy to work with and had excellent customer service. When we met Stella, Paul, Zean and Tyler, we knew that we would be in good hands. You could tell that they loved what they did and that they loved each other. :) They were such a fun, cute and bubbly bunch. Stella did a great job addressing all our questions and concerns throughout the entire process. On the wedding day, Paul, Zean and Tyler were very professional. They were early and spent time reviewing the venue and notes I had provided them. They were able to capture all the key moments and did so with ninja-like skills. They made it a point to not interfere with any of the wedding festivities, and sometimes I didn't even notice they were there. The best thing was that we received our highlight video 5 days after our wedding! After so many months of planning, the day just went by so fast. It felt like a blur. We were so happy to be able to relive our wedding so quickly after, and the video was beyond our expectations. We were surprised how well put together it was in such a short period of time. It was a 3-4 minute cinematic video that captured all the key moments of the day. It was just short/long enough to be able to share with our friends and family. Ok so this is a super late review. I got married a whole year ago! What can I say, I'm a major procrastinator! I can't say enough great things about Boffo! Paul and Stella was simply amazing. They were recommended to us because they did our friend's wedding and we loved the way the video turned out. Stella answered all my questions through email prior to our official first meeting, and they were extremely accommodating with our schedule. We live in Northern CA but had our wedding in Riverside because majority of my husband's family is down in SoCal. So all of our wedding planning had to be calculated and scheduled to perfection. We also contacted other videographers too, and almost all of them pushed for a deposit for "special pricing as soon as possible to lock in the great rate" before we even had the chance to meet. Stella never pushed for a sale and simply answered the questions I had. At our first meeting, Stella went through all of their packages with us in detail and showed us samples. She even briefly went over what it'll be like on wedding day and what we should expect from them. She made the meeting very comfortable and out of all my wedding vendor meetings, I felt the most at home with Boffo. It was as if we were meeting with friends and having a great time. We also met Paul and a few other crew member at that time, and everyone was so nice! Prior to our wedding, we met with Stella and Paul to go over the details and they helped us so much with what we should prepare and how to make the best of our big day. Even though they were hired as our videographer, it felt as though they were our wedding planner, holding our hands through out the whole process. At the wedding, things went very smoothly. Of course with any wedding, things never happen exactly as planned, and I was late on arriving to the venue. Paul and his crew managed to change things around so they can capture everything. From the moment we stepped through their doors to meet for the first time, my fiancee (at the time) and I felt comfortable. It wasn't long until we all started laughing and tensions (if any) were non-existent. These are simple acts that we look for during our interview process with all our vendors. Simple, yet, some vendors fail to realize the value of making their client(s) feel at ease and not so uptight on the business side. Boffo was able to get on a personal level with us without being intrusive. They showed us their work with previous videos and we both were drawn to their creativity, style, and direction. It's not your standard wedding video of the 90's anymore and these guys aren't afraid to try new things. They're young, professional, and energetic; a great combination that helps to capture everything and even more. The pricing is great as well. In retrospect, I wish we would have found these guys earlier than we did so we could have taken advantage of the other packages to have more time to shoot additional footage prior to our wedding.
