The Exploration Gateway is off of 12th St and right on Sippo Lake. They have a nature center, gift shop, several meeting rooms where they host special events, and a branch of the Stark County Library. There are several short trails branching off from the building and parking lots, at least some of which are stroller friendly. There is also a small playground.

North Park is a nice place to spend an afternoon. There's a little something for everyone here…read more This part features (from their website): a picnic shelter, restrooms, fully- accessible playground, 1.1 mile paved walking track, seven athletic fields used for baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse, a multi-use track used for skating and bicycling, seven ballfields, six tennis courts, four basketball courts and two sand volleyball courts. I like to walk a few laps around the track when the weather permits. There's usually a few others on the path as well, but it's never been too crowded. One bad thing about the track is there seems to be a lot of goose poop near the pond. I've also shot some hoops on the court before. It gets super busy on the weekends, so you might want to think about going somewhere else unless you're trying to get in on a pickup game. The rims are very stiff as well which doesn't make it very fun. Find a way to get rid of the geese (or at least the poop) and add a fenced in dog park, and this place would get another star.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they close it down for far too long in the winter. It was into May before they opened it again. I'm a casual disc golfer meaning that I go about twice a month at the most. This course seems to be set up a little more for the more avid disc golfers. Every time that I've gone, there has been quite a few avid players. I don't know if professional is the term for them but they are close to it. I usually feel a little out of my league when I play there. Two of the holes focus on a water hazard that for a casual disc golfer are a bit more challenging than I care to attempt. The first one angles across a decent size pond. The other one has the basket directly beside the pond. For me personally, I have no desire to get close to losing my disc in the water. If you want a challenging course, then this is a pretty good course. If you're a casual disc golfer, then I think there are some other courses in the area that might be a little more enjoyable. I'm just really not that big of a fan of the setup of the course. One cool thing about the course though is the fact that it does have 24 holes instead of the conventional 18 holes in case you want to skip the water hazard holes.
