I've been making use of the various sections of this park now for several months and it's about time it got a well-deserved review out of me. In short, I really love this park. I think it's a shining gem and the area Metro Parks network.
The park is segmented into at least three sections (it could be more, honestly). My personal favorite, and most frequently visited, is the archery range. Even if this was all the part consisted of, it would be the gem by itself. Anything like this I've found down south would come at a fee and still not be so well maintained. Then there's the XC course combined with the disc golf course. Just to sit or walk here taking in the broad vistas is a meditative experience for me. The entire place is cleaned and mowed frequently. Even in winter it can be breathtaking.
To be honest, I haven't even made it to the main section of the park featuring the pond and trails where you can kayak and hike. All of this for the price of your tax dollars already paid. Still I see these places lightly visited and, therefore, even more worth your time. read more
