Sometimes I'm on my feet, bearing weight on either of my legs, straining my hips and lower back, or hunching over when I'm sitting at a computer for hours at a time. What's important to me when getting a massage is good technique, communication, and diligence. Rose has made a good impression on me since the beginning. She listened to my issues, applied the right techniques and pressure on my problem areas, manages her time very well, and provides me constructive feedback on my body and ways to prevent further injury. I was late to my first appointment and even with the time shortage, she was still able to hit everything. She gave me some good advice afterwards and I did not hesitate to make another appointment! I trust this woman with my body and that is saying a lot! She is experienced(Thai massage, sports, etc) and very passionate about her job and it really shows. I recommend her to anybody in the area.

She takes the time to get to know you and truly sees you as a person and not just a customer. She is easy to talk to and is able to adapt to your individualized needs for the massage experience. While my previous massage experience was limited to 3 different places, Tanya has hands-down created the most welcoming space. As a person who is more reserved and hesitant about opening up both about myself and my personal space, I immediately felt at ease. She took the time to determine exactly what type of massage (level of pressure, areas that may need more attention, etc.) would meet my goal: to decompress. During the massage itself, I was able to unwind and felt the burdens of life--big or small--melt away. I have nodded off each time, a sure sign that my mind has been liberated from nagging thoughts of that never-ending to-do list.

I called The Healing Place to make an appointment. I explained to the lady who answered the phone that I wanted to pay the difference to schedule a full hour since I thought 30 minutes was not enough time to get a good massage. I arrived the next day a few minutes early for my 9:00 a.m. appointment. There was no one in the lobby, but I did hear someone in the back, so I sat in the the lobby. A few minutes later, a lady came from the back. When she saw me, she handed me a clipboard and told me "Fill out the forms". She did not say hello, introduce herself, or smile. She seemed that she was not happy to be there. The lady went back into the back room and I started filling out the forms. I had just finished filling in my contact information when she came out, with some type of bottle in her hand, and asked me "Do you want heat on the bed?" I was not sure what she meant. I have had a few massages in the past at other places and I had never been asked that question. I said to her "I don't know". She then, mockingly, repeated what I had just said ("I dont' know") and then said "You either want heat or you don't". At this point, it was really obvious this lady did not seem happy to be there and I wanted nothing further to do with her. I handed her my certificate, told her I was not interested in getting a massage and left. I waited about a week to submit this review because I thought someone would wonder why I was not happy and that person (the boss, owner) would contact me since I had left my contact information. I have heard from no one. So it seems obvious to me that there is no concern for the customer at The Healing Touch.
