My fiancé and I are out of town just seeking a place to get movement in. My fiancé called before we went to this gym and was told "you can buy day passes for $15." By the girl at the front with braces of navy blue bands. She did not mention that we have to have a member with us to enter. There was lots of back and forth between her and the manager before we were turned away. As a someone who is in a leadership position at a boutique gym, I find it interesting that you only allow members to bring people in and seem very exclusive. To which is what we in the industry are trying to pull away from. Everyone should be welcomed regardless if they know a member or not. It was giving Charles Manson at the gym. Also it's the holidays and a lot of people need a space to work out energy to be the best version of themselves. Over time this gym (BodyXchange on Allen Rd) has progressively gotten worse. 1). No matter what discounted membership they offer each year, they always find some reason to raise the fees within a year. Note how many times they preface these increases with such statements as "we are going to be buying/adding new equipment at your gym's location" - Complete BS! 2). The employees are friendly but useless. They sit at the front counter on their cell phones the whole shift. 3). The music that is played at the gym is beyond bad. It ranges from slow music to some 90s to country. Who in the hell plays country music at the gym! When I asked an employee if the selection could be changed, they said no because the owner is old-school and is NOT open to change. 4). The equipment is only cleaned/disinfected if the member cleans it after use. Good luck trying to find the disinfectant bottle -it's like an Easter egg hunt. Further, I have never seen an employee in the years that I have been there, clean it once. 5). The equipment is frequently in need of repair. Any piece of equipment that has a plastic seat cover or handles is frequently damaged and/or broken. It's become so bad that members are breaking the plastic handles off because the staff (who are probably busy texting) are not hammering them back into position. Any event, the only saving grace at the moment is that they offer month to month membership. Once another gym opens in the Brimhall area, I'm gone. Gym was okay Process to try the gym is a nightmare, with all the sales people at the front. We don't need your unsolicited lecture, slide presentation, analysis of my goals and in depth sales pitch after repeatedly telling you I just want to try the gym and have limited time to workout. They tell you they can give you 7 days trial, but will bring it down to 3 days after their hour long TedTalk. You can't even just sign-up at the front. They give you an appointment and sit you down like they're a car dealership. They also don't get the hint when you block their number. They'll call with their other numbers. Give them as little information as possible if you only want to try this gym. Would look the other way if I was you. read more

This is an awful gym. They do not repair anything, arbitrarily change your monthly rate higher whenever they feel like it, the hours are cut so you can barely workout on weekends, they continuously cut services and equipment and then charge you more. The people working here are all kids incapable of solving anything or addressing any issues with equipment. Cliente is also rude and not the type of people you'd want to be around. read more

It's bad enough that not all members clean equipment after use, now they've (Management) taken away a majority of the cleaning materials for when I use machines or want to get on a machine. 20 years ago I got Mersa from a gym. Signed up for a free 7-day pas online and when I made an appointment to redeem it, the sales person said "the 7 days is not actually guaranteed, we can only do 2-3 days". When I sign up for something I don't like being lied to, if it says 7 days online they should honor what they are advertising. This first impression experience with their false advertisement made me run far away from this place. Go down the street and get a gym that honors their word, has better machines, and more amenities. Had a really bad experience trying to sign up. Khloe was very condescending whenever I'd ask questions about the gym. She seemed exasperated by my confusion when she wasn't making any sense to me. I kept trying to ask more questions and instead of re-explaining it in another way so it would make sense, she would just repeat the same answer. I've worked in customer service and a management for almost 10 years & I know how to treat guests and this was no way whatsoever to treat one. I came in wanting help and to work on my fitness, but she and Body Xchange made me feel so unwelcome. Don't go here. I have been going to this gym for over a year now and it's great. It has some top tier machines from brands like Atlantis and Hammer Strength and overall has a positive vibe that's very motivating. Doesn't have a sauna nor a pool if that's what you're looking for, but great place to do some cardio and lift. So disappointed at the service I have received from Body Xchange. I tried cancelling at the beginning of the pandemic because they were not offering classes or childcare. They convinced me to not cancel, but freeze the account instead. They, without notifying us, began charging us again. When I finally got a change to call I ended up having to pay around $100 after not using their services for close to 6 mos! They refuse to waive fees and/or refund. Wow...Buyer Beware!!! We signed up for a one year membership, went daily for two months, loved every minute...then...COVID19 reared it's ugly head. Due to health issues ( why we were there to begin with), we had to step away from the gym. Paid our monthly dues, even tho we weren't using the facility and paid the additional equipment fee for one year. Our membership contract is finally met however, they are charging us another 78.00 equipment fee for the 2021 year....ummmm NO! we have not used your equipment or facility for a year and you want us to pay that? It was state mandated for gyms to close, not being enforced, they stayed open. But, the pandemic should have allowed for some "wiggle room" in their contracts. Not to mention...you can't get in touch with the corporate office. You get generic computer generated replies and unanswered, no return phone calls. This company is running a deceitful operation and if you value your hard earned money or plan to frequent this gym until the day you die, don't give them your banking information. My 80 year old mother had a good standing membership for 6 years until her knees were too weak to use the facility. She went in in July 2019 and asked to cancel her membership. They told her that she must cancel online so she logged in and canceled online and thought she was done. Around that same time, and completely unrelated she had also changed her debit card. Come to find out they started charging her new debit card, without her knowledge. When she figured out what was going on she went back to the gym and spoke with the manager and was told that they would take care of it, her membership was canceled and there'd be no further charges. But they kept on charging her monthly, over and over and no matter what she did or who she spoke with it didn't matter! Now at this point she hadn't used this gym in over a year. So she went back in in December, SIX months after she canceled online (and in person) and of course the manager that was handling her account was no longer there but there was a new manager that said, oh I'd be more than happy to help you cancel your account, but you owe $200 in unpaid fees! My mother asked what she was talking about and was told the fees were supposedly finance charges for attempting to charge her card after she had canceled back in July. So here's a long standing member who paid her fees on time every month for YEARS and because of your complicated cancelation policy you fraudulently continued to charge her every month after July, continuously charging a cancelled debit card multiple times at $8.95 each time they attempted to charge her monthly fee, racking up $200 in finance charges but never once sending her any notice to inform her the situation. They even auto charged her an annual fee in October, three months after she canceled. When she couldn't get anywhere with the staff after multiple calls multiple visits she had her bank block the recurring charges as the only way she could get them to stop. And then, get this, she was sent to collections! They had several face to face opportunities to assist my mom and resolve the issue but instead chose to blame my mother by pulling out a 6 year old contract in her face showing her the fine print where they were justified in hijacking her account and charging her excessive finance charges! Now that's classy! My mom paid ABC Finance $200 to get rid of this company who continued to harass her until she couldn't take it anymore. Stay far away from this gym, not only are they shady, they take advantage of the elderly and their business model sucks. read more

Canceling your membership is a pain and corporate couldn't be any less understanding. Maria wasn't helpful in the slightest. I cancelled 11 days before the annual enhancement fee would be charged and they informed me it has to be 15 days, I called to kindly ask if it could get waived because most places would waive it, not the case here. I'm not even going to use this gym at all in 2020 because the equipment I favor is usually out of order so why would I continue to go there? Plus the front of the gym has been smelling horrible and has been a reason I've had to leave my workout halfway through. Bad company, made it very difficult to cancel services when moving out of state. Talked to many people on the phone, they used the fine print in the contract to manipulate me into waiting out my time on my contract and just finish paying for the duration of my contract. Than, ensured me after my 13 months of payments for a 12 month contract were up that they had put it in the system that it would be canceled, it was not and I am still going through hoops to get this company out of my life. Member services operator was VERY rude, kept talking over me when I tried to explain my situation. Also, what kind of establishment makes it so hard to leave a 30$ a month contract? If they had any pride in theyre facilities they wouldn't have to turn down early terminations so harshly, it must be a common problem for them. To sum it up, facilities are "ok" but crowded. A lot of employees sitting around when the floor was a mess or disorganized. They will try and get you to spend you're money on trainers, very expensive and most money goes to the facility (a large percentage goes to body xchnage). I just can't agree with this gym on any level, bad customer service and they are out for large profit. I had a friend who worked for them and was an outstanding trainer but explained to me the large hustle that is associated with gaining customers and selling training. I really like this new Body Xchange. The machines all seem to be in good and working condition, lots of space for stretching/classes, clean locker rooms, and a spacious kids club. I am currently a member and I have the option to go to all their gyms including their "spa" gyms. This gym is one of those, which has an exclusive section for ladies only. The section is pretty nice and spacious for many ladies to be able to exercise. The other section that is for males and females is not, maybe just a little bigger than the ladies section. The gym is overall not that big compare to their other gyms but its still doable. I think they did this to give the feeling of a spa. To my opinion it should be bigger since you are paying more for this type of gym. They do offer classes, tanning, and massaging in this location. Overall it is not my favorite (it is too far from home) but it is very nice. My favorite part is the type of people that come here. Especially because the males they are not creeps! This gym is by far the most comfortable I've EVER felt in a gym. The gym is super clean and the staff are all friendly and motivating Their childcare is AWESOME! The Woman's locker room is really nice and clean, super spacious! I wouldn't want to have my membership with anyone else. Rob helped get me set up when I came in, and I didn't feel out of place! I came here hoping to find a new gym for my daughter and me after our membership expired at another gym. I got a tour from a very nice guy. When it was over I asked him if we could get a 7 day pass to try it out before committing to a contract. I was told no, they don't do that anymore. After expressing my disappointment and letting him know I was going to try some other gyms that did have the free pass, I was told he would make a phone call and see if he could get me 1 to 3 days to check it out.
