After my massage therapist, who I had been seeing for years, moved out of the country last year, I tried a few other massage places, but none of them felt like home. I had a 60 minute Swedish Massage with Elle at Body of Needs Spa yesterday and have finally found my new MT and Spa home!! The experience begins with being welcomed by their delightful receptionist who offered me water and had me fill out their very detailed intake form that asks everything from specific areas of focus, lotion or oil preference, amount of pressure and all the things your MT needs to tailor your massage. Elle came out to get me and brought me in to a very tranquil treatment room. There is a whiteboard on the wall and Elle used it to note where I wanted her to focus, any thing that was important to me for my massage and then she stepped out so that I could undress. As she started the massage, the pressure was a little lighter than I wanted so I told her and she immediately adjusted. She really worked on my problem areas and gave a great full body massage!! I'm a little sore today, but in the best possible way!! I immediately scheduled my next appointment with Elle as soon as I got in the car; a 90 minute this time,. Their online booking makes it so easy to book, reschedule, or cancel your appointment. Needless to say Elle and Body of Needs are my new go to!! read more

The only picture I took was while I was waiting for my massage. However, all other photos that are linked with this business are very accurate. This spa is hidden on Main Street in Middletown and is absolutely perfect. You are greeted by the receptionist when you walk in and offered tea or water while you wait. There are several private service rooms. I had a 90 minute deep tissue with Mackenzie. She was excellent at determining where I needed attention and how much pressure. The room was relaxing with the proper lighting and music. The table was heared. Prices were reasonable. I am happily sore and feel much better! I will absolutely be back to see Mackenzie again!!! I think I found my new local spot. read more

Body Of Needs Spa - Massage Therapy Near Me - Middletown, Connecticut

Possibly THE BEST massage that I have ever had in my life. Kevin was very professional and knowledgeable about my aches and pains and focused in on those areas. The aromatherapy added a nice touch. All of the staff at Body of Needs are friendly and courteous. I will definitely continue to get massages from this fab spa! read more

I admit, I've been gatekeeping Body of Needs, particularly Kevin but feel it's time to come clean. The most incredible massage, he is attentive to the details I share, and is also friendly. The office staff is always warm and welcoming. I wish I could give more than 5 stars read more

Always a great experience with Katie! Super relaxing environment and the staff are wonderful. This is the only place I'll go for massages.

I could not even wait to drive home before leaving this review! Just amazing. I went to see Zack and I had a ton of anxiety my back hurt and I was in a rut of sadness all day. I told Zack about it and let him do his magic and I walked out with a smile on my face! Nothing worked all day until I came here and now I feel so so much better. Thank you Zack!! read more

Kurt was amazing! He really focused on areas that needed it and later told me i could have used 90 minutes so he could have addressed these needs more. If you are looking for a massage for specific areas and needs while giving you a full body massage, Kurt is your guy. I will definitely be back! Other notes: He is respectful and really makes you feel comfortable while asking you questions to personalize your massage instead of just doing a full body massage and ignoring areas that might be causing issues. read more

Just had the best deep tissue massage with Katie. It was my first time visiting and luckily parking on Sunday in Middletown is free and easy. Cozy waiting area and before we got started, Katie walked me through a board to show my target areas and preferences. Lots of special little touches that made this experience 5 star including special tilts on the table to make me more comfortable. The massage was deep enough to be impactful but still very relaxing. At the end, she sprinkled my face with rose water. I will definitely be returning. I also love that they're open on Sundays. A nice touch before another busy week. read more

The experience from beginning to end was great! It was easy to book online, and upon my arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the front desk person. The questionnaire I filled out collected all the necessary details to tailor the massage experience to my exact needs.. Robyn was awesome! She discussed what I wanted and made me feel really comfortable. I had a sinus infection, and she made necessary adjustments to make sure I was comfortable. The 90 minute massage was amazing. The atmosphere was relaxing, Robyn was so kind and accommodating, and of course a skilled masseuse. read more

Awesome experience! My wife and I came here for the first time during a recent weekend getaway. The woman working reception was very welcoming. The massage therapy room was clean, tastefully decorated and included a special whiteboard for my therapist to review what my preferences were. I had Stacey as my therapist and my wife had Jeff. Both were amazing! I would absolutely recommend this spa and we will absolutely be back soon. read more

I have been here a couple of times and will definitely go again. In particular, I like massage done with cupping practices, and Zack, who was my therapist for this combination of modalities, did an extraordinary job. He talked me through exactly what options were available, and worked with me to come up with plan that would address my needs, including intermittent lower back pain. His expertise, kindness, sense of humor and thoroughness made it an absolutely lovely experience. I'll be back! read more

Was in a pinch and needed a massage desperately and found this gem!! Doesn't look like much from outside- is located in downtown Middletown on the main drag, but once you walk in you get be prepared to zen out! Their hours are great and you can book quick online. Parking is a bit of a pain so give yourself some extra time. The massage therapist was so detailed and did a consult pre massage where he laid out what we would and wouldn't do. I have never had such a thorough massage in my life. Amazing! Did I mention they have 2 hour massages?? And the prices are reasonable! Go treat yourself! read more

I received a massage from Robyn and it was the most relaxing and refreshing experience. Her hands effortlessly worked out my knots and tension. I am an athlete of 10+ years, as this was no small task. I left feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle my next 5k. Don't walk, run to body of needs spa, I can't recommend it enough! read more

Kurt was phenomenal. Found my problem areas, talked them over with me, and was very helpful in my muscle relaxation and release. One of the best massages I've ever gotten in my life. Will be back again!!! read more

Let me ask you something... How many of you have booked a deep tissue massage, but what you experienced was more like soft, cuddly kittens "making biscuits?" That was me ALL THE TIME in well over 10 different states. As someone with chronic back pain these weak sauce massages were just not working for me with the amount of money I was throwing down. Well folks, allow me to introduce you to my FAVORITE monthly self-care ritual...the Deep Tissue Massage at Body of Needs. The owner, Kevin, or any of the other massage therapists will start by taking you into a clean, cozy room decorated with birch trees (you will see this theme throughout the place) and ask you exactly what hurts, how much pressure you need, and even ask if you like to talk during your massage. Once you have been fully tenderized and you are feeling like you have a brand new body, you will get dressed and your massage therapist will come back in to give you some H2O and to also discuss how much tension you are lugging around on a daily basis as well as if there are any alterations you would like to make for your next appointment. This really is a hidden gem folks, which is likely why I am the first review, but the experience is nothing but phenomenal. Side note: If you want to be a bit extra, go for the Needful Things Ritual package, which includes a scrub that will make your skin smoother than a fresh jar of...well you get the point. read more

I just had my second massage here. My first was hot stone with Jeff and yesterday was a Swedish massage with Kevin. They were both fabulous and left me relaxed and feeling so much better. I really appreciate the whiteboard with an area to discuss what parts of your body may need additional work. They save it and have it available for the next time to refer to. Clean, peaceful and very inviting! read more

I have gotten massages for the last 20+ years, all over the world... This was an incredible experience. Not only was Kevin professional and clearly experience, he made us feel like we were home and comfortable right from the beginning. The overall process of booking was painless (not the case most places!), we were accommodated short notice. The massage it's self was perfect. I am not exaggerating, it was actually perfect - there is nothing either of us would have wanted differently. We are excited to go back soon and are certainly looking forward to being regulars. Thank you Body of Needs and thank you Kevin!! read more

Body Needs is amazing. I booked the appt on the same day for a 1.5 hour Swedish massage. Stacey was the massage therapist and she delivered the spa experience. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. As I'm writing this review I still have the "massage high" going on right now. My body feels restored and loose. Exactly what I needed. Highly recommend read more

This place is exactly what I need. (pun intended) :P 1st they are so welcoming, warm and professional. The place is beautiful and calming and I have needed that this past year. My last massage was with Kevin and it was amazing!!!! His attention to detail and my comfort was great. I'll will be going back again and again. Thank you guys (relaxed sigh here) read more

I can't say enough great things about Body of Needs. I have been twice now, and both times my experience was exceptional. Easy to book, friendly staff, and most importantly to me, clear and open communication. Massages make me uncomfortable because it's such a vulnerable experience. Not here. They ask plenty of questions before you are on the table to ensure you are comfortable, and then communicate clearly throughout the service. If I had the money, I'd get everyone I know a gift certificate for a massage here for Christmas. read more

One of the best massages I've had. Kevin was amazing and almost intuitively responsive in his technique.

If I could give this place a -5 I would! I had went there for a hour swedish massage and I spoke to the receptionist for a couple of minutes. By time I went in for my massage he told me I only had 30 minutes left. I asked him why and he tried to say I took to long when I had arrived a half hour early so that was a lie! I am elderly and vision impaired, I have also been going to masseuses for my whole life and never had such a AWFUL EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! He had only done my knees and back which wasn't even good I left there more sore then when I walked in the door!He had told me that I could come back and get the other half hour and when I called they had every excuse to why I couldn't get it! I had then spoke to the manager that was a lady and she was absolutely no help what so ever and had a VERY POOR ATTITUDE! I then asked if there was any type of compensation because the guy had told me they would make up the 30 minutes she told me NO! Absolutely not you already got what you paid for after I explained to her I had paid for a hour and only got 30 minutes! read more

We just moved here from out of state..... which as most people know is very stressful. We do not know anyone here either for recommendations. I went on yelp and found a few massage places to call. Well, everyone, look no further!!! Body of needs spa is the best there is!!!! All staff is very professional, knowledgeable, and super friendly! You walk inTo a very calm and serene atmosphere to smiling faces of staff. I filled out a very detailed form of what my preferences and pain areas are for massage. I have never had such a great deep tissue massage or such a phenomenal massage in general!! Kurt knows his stuff and I would recommend him to everyone! Do yourself a favor and go to body of needs.
