I asked if she was Mindy, and when she confirmed that she was, I explained that I had an appointment with her. Only then did she tell me that she was unable to do my massage because of a situation involving her husband and children. At that point, I was completely understanding. Things happen, and I told her that I understood but would simply like a refund for the massage I did not receive. She refused and told me I would have to go through Groupon. What frustrated me even more was her explanation for why she had not contacted me to cancel. She claimed she had no way of reaching me, despite the fact that we had previously communicated directly through text and she had specifically requested both my email address and phone number. She then said she had accidentally entered the wrong email address and that she had not seen my messages because she receives a lot of texts and emails. Mistakes happen, but what I found unacceptable was the complete lack of communication and accountability afterward. I had rearranged my work schedule, driven to the appointment, waited outside for 30 minutes, and ultimately received no service. After returning home, I contacted Groupon and was informed that the merchant, Mindy, would not approve my refund. I was incredibly disappointed to later find other reviews describing similar experiences. There were also issues before the appointment. You cannot see available appointment times before purchasing the Groupon. When I initially realized there were no appointment slots that worked with my schedule, I requested a refund. I was told the voucher had already been redeemed and that she would not issue one. She then worked with me directly through text to arrange the 5:00 p.m. appointment. Thankfully, booking this way also saved me the additional $10 booking fee charged through her scheduling platform. I cannot comment on the quality of her massages because I never actually received one. My review is solely based on how this situation was handled. I was willing to be understanding about a last-minute family situation. What I cannot understand is cancelling a client's appointment without notifying them, allowing them to leave work early and wait outside, and then refusing to refund them for a service that was never provided. The entire experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I wish I had read the similar reviews before purchasing.

When I asked why, I was told that I was not "the right fit" and that my name was on the "list". With further questioning, I determined that this was some sort of in-house collusion among the therapists, because I had complained at my last appointment. Apparently you better just keep your mouth shut and not ask the therapist to make adjustments, or you risk being sent home!
