Within the first 10 minutes of class, we shared collective feelings like: "What the $&@! did we get ourselves into?!"... and, "My body doesn't move that way!"... etc., etc. But after attending a few classes a week for the last few weeks, I will 100% say that this class kicks your butt in the best way possible. Physically, I'm starting to see and feel a difference. Its forcing me to be a bit more conscious about my eating habits too (there's only so much stuff you want jiggling inside your stomach at 6am!). Instructors Shauna, JoJo and Daniel are great people and awesome coaches. The workouts are high-intensity and demanding at times, but man -- do they work you out. Using the app for scheduling is easy enough, and they just started a new checking system that makes it more integrated and streamlined. Add in some great tunes and high fives during class, and I wasn't expecting to like this place so much.

The gym has plenty of equipment. In my experience, there are rare moments when sharing of equipment or waiting for equipment happens. The price of the gym is really good, particularly if seeking an international gym (a gym with international locations). There is not an Anytime Fitness in every country. Yet, after being able to access one on vacation about Tokyo, I think if one has an international itinerary involving a/ location(s) near an Anytime Fitness, the membership price is really good (even considering each location may different in offerings). Plus, the ability to access the gym on one's own, especially with the hours, is really nice. Even so, I prefer the physical key card than the digital card via cellphone. Members get about a 10% discount at Smoothie Kings. There is a common-public locker area where about 54 of the lockers are smaller and bring your own lock (BYOL). There are about 20-ish larger mini-lockers (non-BYOL) [each does not always have a key]. There is a bathroom for individuals that may be seeking bars with a seat in the shower. The other shower bath room has no seat though bars. Two bathrooms do not have showers. Automatic sprayers (air fresheners) in the bathrooms tend to be overhead near the doors. As a person that really puts in improving good effort to care for my overall well-being, I prefer not having chemicals (in this instance, from air fresheners) in my vicinity. There are non-toxic space fresheners.

Can't complain about that! There's plenty of street parking right in front of the boardwalk as well as residential parking nearby. Since I visited after the summer season ended, I had no problem finding a spot at 12pm. If you're going during the season, I would suggest coming much earlier if you want to get a good spot closer to the beach. During the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), beach badges are required from 9am-5pm on weekdays and 9am-5:30pm on weekends/holidays. It's $13 per person. Children ages 11 and under + active military and their dependents are free of charge. They don't accept credit/debit cards, so remember to bring CASH. The beach is beautiful - clear, blue water and clean, soft sand. The crowd is more mature and family-oriented. They do have a lot of rules (no alcohol/smoking/cannabis/canopies/tents/sound systems), but I don't mind. It's not rowdy here, so you'll have a peaceful experience. There are bathrooms, a playground area for children, and a boardwalk. The boardwalk is small, but charming. There are benches for you to sit, relax, and enjoy the ocean view. There aren't many restaurants, bars, games, or entertainment around. They have a snack/food pavilion, but I'd suggest driving a few miles away to Asbury Park or Long Branch for a better dining and night life scene. Seeeeee yaaaaaaaa at the shore!

The pool is accessible only to Clarkstown residents and their guests, so if you're not a resident befriend someone who is. You must obtain a Clarkstown resident ID card first at the registration office at 31 Zukor Road in New City. (The pool won't simply accept a driver's license.) Rates can be either daily or seasonal for individuals or family, and are very reasonable compared to similar community pools.

On a recent visit it was nice to see that the previous snake-ridden den of iniquity has long been been replaced with a legitimate pool and that the mythological beasts of years past have been slayed by chlorine and actual cement walls. You can even see right to the bottom. What a concept. This is what Nanuet Lake should have been like all along... no thanks whatsoever to my parents who thought this was some tough love version of Shangri La, albeit minus the all consuming bliss one often finds in paradise. I kid about my parents (almost) and am happy to bestow five easy stars for a childhood reclaimed. I still hate snakes.

When I visited, a large group had formed a circle that occupied an entire section of the small rose garden. There were no signs indicating the area was reserved, and their gathering unintentionally made the space feel closed off to other visitors. In shared public spaces like this, especially in smaller gardens, it is important for any group, whether local or new to the community, to be mindful of the park's norms and not treat the small public garden like it's only for them. Many people visiting or living here may not be aware of how these spaces are typically used, so a little consideration goes a long way in keeping the park welcoming for everyone.

This is a very convenient way of exercising. You wake up, go in and follow the coaches and screens. It's all set up and thought out for you. Everything from cardio, HiTT, bodyweight, lifting weights and barbell, warm ups. It changes everyday, so you will never be bored of the routine. The majority of coaches are very friendly and personable. It's very difficult for me to find a place like this that will fit my limited schedule from work and life. Thanks BFT! read more

You could join like 4 different kinds of gyms, or just save yourself the trouble and join BFT. It's like a fun variety pack of so many different kinds of workouts (HIIT, boxing, strength endurance, hypertrophy, and so many more). The workouts are intense, the staff are friendly and motivating, and the people who turn up for the classes are great! There is also a shower, which I particularly appreciate as it seems weirdly rare for class-based gyms in Montclair. read more
