I responded "yes in response to ur repeated eye rolls". She began flipping out in a very confrontational way. She wanted an argument & I just wanted to tan. Eventually I told her "u r acting bitchy & u know it!" She started escalating again, "did u just call me a bitch?" She grabbed the phone & ran to the back of the store saying "I'm calling my manager". Left me standing there for about 5 minutes so I finally left & went to the Short Pump location & reported her behavior to the manager there. I've never been treated so offensively by an employee of any establishment ever in my life. I was in a great mood when I entered-Her attitude was unbelievably confrontational, rude & offensive. I cancelled my membership over this situation as I don't want to experience anything like that again. Since I don't hv her name, I will describe her appearance: petite, possibly in her early 20's with long, dark, curly hair working alone on Tuesday. They are very helpful and nice and never make you feel like you're being a hassle. Clearly there is an extreme customer preference for stand up booths (especially level 2), for better comfort and hygiene. When I first started tanning I got no direction on what beds would be good and why much less how many minutes I should use. The employees were nice but unknowledgeable. Then, 6/29, the evening of my tanning revolution happened. It was Friday night maybe 30 minutes before they closed. I had never seen Amanda before. She pleasantly offered upgrades and lotions based on recommendations for my skin that she explained. She found reasonably priced options for me when I hesitated to spend. As someone who works in sales, I'm not easily sold on anything. But Amanda presented facts and was very knowledgeable that made it worth me spending extra money. Then chaos ensued and she handled it with such grace. With minutes to closing, there was a flood of people wanting to tan but none of the beds wanted to work. There was one woman hollering from her bed about how it wouldn't turn on. I was in the lobby... the line was growing. Amanda never lost her cool. As a manager, watching how she engaged with customers and worked to problem solve... if I had a position available I would have tried to hire her on the spot. But honestly, I am not even sure if I could have convinced her to leave... she seems like she loves her job that much.

I have been getting trims here for a few years now, and when I first started going, it looked like…read moreit hadn't changed in decades. They're finally starting to make some updates, which may be because Tony has retired. I can usually get an appointment easily. It never takes long to get in the chair, or to get the services I need. I made the mistake of getting an appointment for a trim, and was surprised when they didn't wash my hair first and cut it dry. I've never had that happen before. You actually have to ask for a shampoo, cut and blow dry, or they will just give you a cut. Prices are great, and my trims are always done well.
