I'll be the first to admit i'm not a dancer, which is why I took the HTB (Hips Thighs and Buns) class, instead of the Full Body class. I figured the Full Body class would mostly be dancing of some sort. This class was a combination of mat work and dance cardio (with lots of jumping, so high impact). It's one of those classes that you have to come often to figure out the routine. I was the only new comer in the class and it was pretty obvious, which was okay. I didn't find it awkward. Instructor and receptionist: I didn't catch the receptionists name when I entered, but he was really friendly and made me feel welcomed, which I appreciated a lot. I had Lauren as an instructor, she was very personable and friendly. She has a great attitude, did all the moves and was able to help correct my form. The only comment I would like to add was that the music was too loud at times to hear what she was saying (or maybe that's how the class is designed...?) The studio: It's a cute, clean studio with showers in the top level. I really appreciate them having showers, because it seems like it's very difficult to find a boutique studio that offers showers, even though you pay about $30 per class. I thought the shower situation was a little awkward. There are two showers in the same small room with a washer and dryer. After class, two of us showered, but I waited until the other person showered (I didn't feel comfortable showering next to someone else with no shower curtain, only clear doors). Parking: we all know that parking in WeHo is impossible and expensive, but they recommend a lot about a block away with parking being free the first hour. I ended up paying $3 though because it took me about an hour and twenty minutes. Overall, if you like high impact work like jumping and dancing I think you would enjoy this place. read more

The image this studio portrays in intimidating, There are photos of beautiful, thin, fit women everywhere. It makes you feel insecure, like you're walking into a Mean Girls situation. But the staff couldn't be more warm, supportive and positive. I think this studio may only allow a few slots for ClassPass members, because it's always full right as the window opens for booking for ClassPass members. It's worth the effort to plan ahead. I did a Trampoline Cardio class and it was so much fun. Amazing workout, really fun and a great sweat. read more

I called to find out about the 8 week makeover program. They discuss this program in depth on their site with tons of before and after photos. It seems to be one of the selling points of the bbs studio. When I called, ready to enroll, the girl who answered the phone said she'd never heard of it. She took my name and number but no one called me back. So either the staff are idiots or their website is a complete lie. I took the full body class with Madisyn via Classpass (only 5 credits) and really enjoyed her energy. She was enthusiastic the whole class and made a point to welcome new people at the beginning and end of class. I've been hearing about BBS for a while as a celebrity workout so I was surprised the studio seemed a bit dingy. The floor was scuffed and the ankle weights, hand weights had a lot of wear and tear. It's also a bit confusing that they instruct you to park in a lot that they don't manage, it indicated the first hour was free but I still paid a $1 for 1:05 of parking. read more

What a great class! For those who are... uh, coordinated. I'm talking about the trampoline class, specifically. Precursor: I own a personal trampoline. I put it on my Amazon wishlist and my sister delivered! When I'm feeling determined, it's how I get my steps... while watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Anyway, this was different. Their trampolines were MUCH more bouncy. They had padded things on the strings... I guess either to alert you that you're getting to the edge or...I don't know. Save your ankles from involuntary strangulation? I should have been there a little earlier but parking was confusing (more on that later). If it's your first class, give yourself an extra 20 minutes to figure out the parking and what staircase is where and OK FINE let's get into it NOW just park in the Trader Joe's lot... get validation... pay like $1.50 or $2 if you go over that hour mark and don't pretend like you don't need anything at TJ's. Bring cash. Nicole was an incredibly radiant, welcoming instructor and it took me awhile but I finally gathered that her vocal "heps" meant a change in direction/exercise/whatever. This is a very dance-y, rhythmic class. Super in-sync with the music. Not super current music but still motivating. Confession: I fell off the trampoline. No, no injuries. Friends, you will not get the hang of this immediately. If you do, I bow down to you, oh trampoline guru. There is a heavy cardio section. A wrist-weights focused arm section. LEGS section where you turn the "tramp" (can't get behind that yet) sideways and of course abs. Overall a fantastic class that made me feel like a lumbering fool. Gorgeous studio and fun, high-energy classes. I wouldn't recommend BBS to anyone with any sort of knee injury. The classes here are very cardio intensive and high impact with lots of jumping around and choreographed dancing. That being said, you don't have to be a dancer to follow along and get a great workout in. I'm probably the most awkward dancer in the world but I do eventually get the dances down since they repeat 3-4x each song. Don't be afraid to look silly and just keep moving! Depending on the day, you'll use different props/weights for strength training between the cardio dance bursts. One thing to note is that the instructors don't give many hands on adjustments-- they almost always stay at the front of the class and do the moves with you. This class gets surprisingly sweaty and your calves WILL be sore after your first class. Since they repeat dances, it'll get easier to follow along if you keep coming back. read more

Horrible customer service experience at the WEHO location. I've had a chronic illness and finally felt ready this weekend to take a workout class. I woke up the morning of the class and felt lightheaded and not able to participate. This would have been my first class as I've been wanting to give Body by Simone a try for awhile now. Josh at the WeHo location was so incredibly rude and questioned my illness saying that many people call in sick to cancel all the time. He was nasty, unprofessional, and hostile. Life is too short. The nicest bunch of fit ladies ever! Not only are the receptionist ladies nice, but all the teachers/trainers are positive, supportive and cheery. I have taken both class & personal training with a variety of the ladies and honestly can't pick a favorite. On top of that, Simone herself likes to do your first training to assess and plan - and guess what. SHE IS SUPER NICE TOO!! I say all this with sore legs, abs and arms b/c THEY STILL WORK YOU HARD!!! Found out about this studio through my work, and I knew i wanted to try it - and it's on Classpass! I took the trampoline cardio class, i haven't taken the other classes, so my review is mostly for that. I loved this class! I honestly didn't think a studio that is mostly dance cardio would be intense enough for me (I am a fan of barrys and spin classes, so I'll be honest I was a little skeptical at first) but the trampoline class was definitely hard! My calves were burning so hard, and it really got my heart rate up. I have never done a trampoline class before, and i thought it was very entertaining and hilarious, but also a really good workout. Pros: Clean, spacious, airy studio Water for sale, as well as a water jug to fill up water bottles Bathrooms Lockers (no locks, but the front desk lady says if you're nervous you can leave your bad behind the desk) Nice teacher Great trampoline class, very fun On Classpass Offers private sessions as well Cons I am not sure if there is a shower or not? No parking - you must park on the street I would definitely recommend checking this studio out! They also have one in Brentwood. read more

Love love love Body by Simone! This place is the definition of a fun workout... you will be dripping in sweat by the time you leave, but with a big smile on your face! Khetanya and Madisyn are the most amazing instructors. The only suggestion that I have would be to improve on cleanliness a bit. The floor should be cleaned after classes, as there's always so much hair and dirt on it. Also, validated parking would be nice, as the suggested structure is $6 and street parking is exceptionally hard to find in WeHo. read more

Wow! I drove from Santa Monica to the West Hollywood location to take a class with Khetanya and she did not disappoint! I am pretty new to BBS and usually go to the Brentwood location but it looks like many trips to WeHo are in my future. I love all the BBS workouts and found Khetanya's energy helped me push myself through the workout. Also their receptionist Chanel was so welcoming and friendly! Great experience! read more

Cutest little studio in WeHo. I found them through classpass but had a hard time booking a class. They seem to be full on classpass always or have premium spots for 14 credits. I was able to get into a Friday morning class and I def get the hype. The workout was amazing. The instructor was energetic and helpful and provided adjustments as needed. All the equipment is new and clean and easy to use. There is a cheap parking structure down the street where the first hour is free. Pretty good solid core workout with some cool beats. This review is for the frustrating experience I had this morning when I drove across town and arrived 8 min late to class to find I was forbidden to enter. I was shocked & surprised by this as I have taken class here several times before and the class has started 10 min late. To be fair this policy is listed, but like many I have been coming here for years and don't know when this copy got listed or if I never read the fine print before... but I think 5 min strict policy in LA is really unreasonable. 10 min would make more sense. And add to the waiver that people should arrive prepared for class any injury outside of that they are not responsible for... because they say missing the warm up is the reason, but this warm up is not extensive. As a regular excerciser it does almost nothing for my body before this class other than light stretching and loosening of joints. Worse, when I tried to convey this feedback about 5 min not being enough leniency with traffic in LA (as kindly as possible) I was met with defensive explanation rather than acceptance of this feedback. Great customer service would have been to acknowledge my frustration, acknowledge noting my feedback and then explaining that it is studio policy and here is why... but I should have been made to feel like a valued client that was listened to and whose opinions were considered. I visited the West Hollywood studio today with an open mind. I was quickly disoriented and frustrated. I signed up for Dance Cardio which should've been identified as an advanced class format. The instructor did not use a headset making instruction nonexistent. She further moved throughout the studio making it nearly impossible to find her and identify the dance moves. I called the studio that afternoon to explain my frustrations, they were unwilling to refund my class and unapologetic. Why are you against using a headset? Imagine playing Simon Says without audio! read more

I did a drop in class for cardio dance with Dominique. She's super cute, nice and has a body I'd kill for! She was all smiles the entire time, which was great. I have a gymnastics background, with limited ballet/dance (only what was incorporated into my gymnastics classes). I'm in relatively good physical shape. I still do gymnastics, used to do cross fit, and at least look athletic. However, this totally kicked my butt, in a good way. If you're going in thinking it's going to be like a pop video class or normal dance class you have another thing coming. I do dance classes at Your Neighborhood Studio and thought it might be similar, but it's not. The dance moves aren't really dances you would do outside of the studio, but it's still cute and fun. I probably spent the majority of the class trying to figure out exactly what the moves were. I think if you have a stronger ballet background you'll have an easier time, but my coordination was clearly lacking. You don't have to feel foolish though because it moves so fast, there's no way anybody else has time to even look at what you're doing. It's not that the dance moves are hard, you just have to have some level of coordination and it moves FAST! She did a little bit of arms and abs at the end and that might have been my favorite part. It was just my pace and it was a comfortable level of difficulty. I didn't give it five stars just because the parking is annoying (You have to get validation at Trader Joe's) and I think it's a little overpriced ($28). read more

The class: * Because of the reputation of this studio, I was intimidated to take this class, at this location. However, the place seemed less pretentious and pompous than I thought it would be. And the class was challenging, and I didn't die. * The class starts with a warm-up, then we do cardio intervals on JumpSport trampolines, mixed in with legs, arm and ab sections. I would say it's about 60% cardio and 40% stretching and sculpting. * Small class. Tiffany was pretty great. She had this radiating smile during the entire class. * I still despise cardio, but I think this class made it somewhat bearable. After years of training on a competitive spring bed trampoline, rebounding still feels counter intuitive to me. Instead of jumping straight and building height from pushing off the bed, rebounding requires you to hunch over and repeatedly push down with a slightly bend in your knees. After a while, it started annoying my lower back (but that's probably because I was doing it wrong). read more

Took my second class here today and had a great experience! I can see why some reviewers had negative experiences here as the first class I took wasn't as great. The receptionist didn't greet anyone and there definitely are a lot of regulars here. My experience today was a complete 180 though and the guy at the front was so nice and helpful! One of the regulars offered to help me get my trampoline as well and Erica, the instructor, had great energy and was super friendly. It's definitely a hardcore workout. The first time I went I thought it was okay but then was amazed by some dramatic results after just taking the one class. I go through ClassPass so it isn't easy to book a class here. Parking is pretty terrible as it is West Hollywood. Despite some of the drawbacks, I really enjoy the work out itself and the plush towels they provide :) read more

Let's just start by saying, I'm definitely not one to bash things, and I don't typically review either, but after relying on yelp for advice on different fitness classes, I feel obligated to post. After being thrilled with a gift certificate for two free BBS classes, I finally tried it out, and much to my disappointment, it did not go nearly as well as I'd hoped. I did go to an early class, so parking wasn't an issue, although I could easily see how it could be. Upon arriving the staff wasn't exactly friendly, and was more interested in catching up with each other and the regulars than paying attention to a newbie. The class itself didn't make things better either. The music was loud, and I could barely hear the instructor who was also going much too fast for someone new to pick up the moves. I went to an HTB class, so I also wasn't expecting the constant bouncing, arm flailing cardio that we did either. I struggle big time with cardio so after a few minutes I had to stop and catch my breath, but the instructor made me continue. Any of the above I might be able to brush off, but the studio was FILTHY. I kept finding hair on my hands and was thinking "Why am I suddenly shedding so much?" but then we laid down to do abs and you could see the dirt, hair, and filth on the floor. I can't even image how long it had been since that floor was vacuumed or swept. After being thoroughly grossed out, we had to wipe down our mats at the end of the class. The wipe barely felt moist, and didn't even make a mark on the mat, so who knows how clean those are either. Not to mention my certificate was for 2 classes. Today was my first and the receptionist kept the certificate. No worries, I definitely won't be back for the second class. read more

As soon as I was greeted by the warm male receptionist, "Welcome Babe!" I knew I had found my new favorite studio. I discovered Body By Simone on ClassPass, and I was finally able to book a Full Body Class with Michelle Cameron. The workout was excellent -- I could not believe I had found a single class that combined all of my favorite activities! One class felt equivalent to taking a mix of the Bar Method, a dance class, a yoga class and a Barry's Bootcamp Full Body class rolled into one! The playlist was fun and because I was constantly moving during the entire class, I was never bored. The instructor, Michelle Cameron, is an awesome Australian who is incredibly energetic and positive. She was a wonderful instructor and I had so much fun in her class! The best part of the class and studio was how empowered the class made everyone feel. I can't wait to come back and I've already reserved a dance cardio class for next week. :) BBS rocks! read more

BBS is great, but its not perfect. I'm only writing a review because when I started going I really wasnt sure what to expect. If you want to see the kind of dance moves in the class, go look up the studio instagram. they post a lot of videos so you can see the style. I soulcycle a lot, and part of what i like about spinning is that its non impact. Each of BBS's classes has a high impact component and the dance cardio is entirely high impact. I think they say their trampoline is low impact because of the cushioning from the trampoline, but you are still lifting both feet off the ground. If you are a runner or a dancer already, i think this is probably a good fit. if you are not used to high impact exercise you will probably find this challenging and your calves may be sore the first couple times from all the jumping. all that said, the dance routines are fun, the teachers are really nice. it can get a bit intimidating because its starting to get a little cliquey with the people who go all the time, so new people might feel even more discouraged, but they do offer a class that breaks down the routine and its generally easy to learn after 2 classes. the studio has a shower, but it is not a changing room. there are 2 showers and they have a flimsy curtain in front of them, and the room (the size of a closet) also has the washer/dryers in it. i know they had a lot of feedback about people not wanting to take the morning classes because there were no showers, but this is barely a solution. the one time i showered there after class, they came in to load the laundry, there was no privacy to get dressed and then the little vanity outside had no outlets so i couldnt even dry my hair there. personally, i think the classes are some of the best and hardest workouts out there. but parts of the experience keep me from going back as much as i'd like to. read more

I have never actually felt compelled to write a review due to a negative experience. I usually just brush it off, understanding that stuff happens sometimes (I also teach yoga so I get it when things go awry once in a while), but I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service and management in my life. The manager, Tracy, was unbelievably rude when I tried to book my class on the phone, only to find out my untouched class series I purchased expired (in under 6 months, that's such a stretch compared to other studios). It was NEVER verbally communicated to me upon purchase that I had only 3 months to use these classes, and her defense over and over was that it was on the receipt at the time I bought (which is insane because who looks at the fine print on a receipt at a fitness studio...). When I asked for a courtesy due to my lack of knowledge she couldn't have been less accommodating and continued to be rude and tried to get off the phone without helping me at all. I had signed up a few times via Classpass which she was penalizing me for instead of using my purchased class series (at times it was easier to just go through the classpass app versus going through their whole system)... The workout was fine the few times I went, I even met Simone a couple times who was lovely. But I am very hesitant to ever go back given the low level of customer service I received and general client negligence. I work out very frequently in LA and have never seen anything like this. Tracy should be ashamed of herself for being such a poor client-relations manager and Simone should be wary that this woman is representing her brand. Very pretentious attitude overall which is so against the message I imagine Simone is trying to convey through her brand and business... read more

This place is addiction. Every class here is challenging but at the same time FUN. A lot of it is jumping around trying to figure out the moves, but I can't help but smile when I come here. All of the teachers offer something different but I love them all. This is a must try studio. read more

Great workouts, fun vibe, and a beautiful open air studio. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this place as I'm not into frou frou workouts and wasn't sure what it was. I want to get in and get out and be as efficient as possible, and was surprised to say that I got an amazing workout in the trampoline classes. I have an injured foot so I can no longer run, and this is a great, gentler way to get the same cardio without the impact on my foot. Super fun, high energy, and some good toning exercises as well. The redefine classes are great too- just a little easier- so are good if you don't necessarily want an overly hard workout, but still want to be challenged! She's the only class at BBS I come to, and I don't know what I would do with myself if she ever left. It's my favourite workout in LA. read more

Run, don't walk to Body By Simone. If you love to get your dance on to pumpin' beats then this is the place to be. The studio is gorgeous and the staff is super welcoming. The instructors are also extremely friendly & knowledgeable. Simone's energy is infectious. I rearranged my schedule in order to use my final classes at this studio so it wouldn't be a total waste of money for me. I booked a 12pm class on a Monday with Bridget who is one of their better instructors. They changed instructors at the last minute and never notified their clients, so I got stuck with an instructor I have never taken before named Jillian. The work out was not challenging and the instructor kept singing over the music which was pretty annoying. She also went to the back of the studio to change her playlist several times mid work out. Any time Barry's Boot Camp has ever changed an instructor on me, they sent a courtesy email notification which also allows clients to cancel the class, free of charge. Once again, Body By Simone has been a total disappointment from a customer service stand point. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! read more

I've only taken one class - the cardio dance class - the class was super fun but unfortunately I'm now having a back spasm and lying in bed on my back - had to cancel my day because I can't move :/ Still giving 4 stars though because the class was super fun, the teacher was very upbeat and sweet and the music was upbeat. I'd just say be careful with the twisty moves - where your upper body twists to the right and lower body to the left - especially if you're susceptible to back injuries. I'm in really great shape - take spin Pilates and barre classes usually 5 days a week and also teach yoga and barre myself - so I'm by no means out of shape, but still got injured. So just be careful and take it easy maybe on your first class. The class is very high impact and maybe my body just isn't used to that - tho I did ballet for years and we do plenty of jumps and I never injured myself there. Still want to try their other classes but I may avoid the cardio dance class after this back spasm. Also when I arrived no one was at the front desk so I just stood there for a minute and when the desk girl did appear she was not very friendly - didn't give me a first time tour - like all I needed was someone telling me where the class room was and cubbies etc - I figured it out cause the place was small but a friendly welcoming goes a long way and I def didn't get that. Love this studio!! Highly energetic class, great music, great instructor, great people. I was visiting and tried the one in WeHo. Simone herself was subbing one of the classes, it was amazing, and she is such a lovely person. I wish they have this in San Francisco where I am currently residing. They also have a nice patio next to the studio where you can sit, drink cofee, and just hangout to get some fresh air while waiting for the next class. Love all the classes, but definitely will be back for the trampoline class, I could not find anything like it in SF just yet. I will try their New York studio soon, cant wait!! LOVE BBS. I'm fairly new but I love this place. The trampoline class is a great cardio work out that you can smile and laugh through as there is something very nostalgic about jumping on a trampoline. I love the full body and HBT classes as well. I particularly like Nicole's taste in music and her classes. I hope they add more trampoline classes in the morning and full body in the am since I have to be at work by 9 and a lot of their classes end at 9. otherwise, LOVE! read more

the classes are great, there are showers, and the parking is not too bad. the only thing, which someone else also mentioned in a review, is that they will change instructors last minute with no notice and no option to cancel. this is not typical at most places like this. otherwise, the workout itself is great and space is very nice, and everyone there is super friendly so it's not intimidating at all. everyone can join, they always say they don't care if you learn the moves, just jump around and have fun if you have to read more
