I got a glass of white wine for 3.70€ and my friend had a small beer for 2.60€. With each of our wine orders, you can order a small dish from the menu. It was nice having the option to choose, since most of the other bars I went to didn't give you a choice. The menu has a good selection of meat, seafood, and vegetarian options. I was already full at this point from bar/tapas hopping, but my friend got the chicken in spicy Thai sauce and really enjoyed it. Dudes behind the bar were all right, and they played decent music and took requests from the customers, but I sit down and proceed to meet the most "Cara de perra" Spanish woman that I spoke to the entire time I had been in Spain. I try to make some chit chat - trust me that I was not interested in this woman in the least bit, but thought I could at least converse with her - you never know if someone might be interesting but literally anything I say is met with immediate eye-rolling. She's all pissed if I can't hear every word she says, even though I don't really care, and she's hardly as interesting as she thinks she is. She was some tour guide in the Albaicin she tells me and busts a gasket because I thought she said she worked at the Alhambra or something. I mean, I was keeping it nice and civil and non political or controversial. Trying to talk about traveling, food, the usual banter when you meet someone. Anyway, she was such a jerk that when she went to smoke a cigarette, I had to immediately pay my tab and GTFO before she came back. It's really not the bar's fault, but y'all should try to keep that woman out of your place. She completely killed the vibe! Ha! I left and wished I had stopped at the EDM dance bar just down the street on the right instead. If you want a nice pub with a better vibe, go to POE a few streets further down. I love Southern Spain and I am not normally a fan of Brit run bars / cafes…read more However I am going to make an exception for the Anchor Cafe in La Herradura, a lovely unspoilt town on the Costa Tropical. Whilst staying in La Herrdura recently, I was desperate to find a bar that would show the Lions rugby games - not an easy task, as the town is more of a destination for Spanish taking their holidays, rather than northern Europeans. So I guessed I had to break my normal rule and find a Brit bar. I popped into the Anchor, and could not have found a more welcoming place. Its run by a really nice charming English family, who were more than happy to make sure the game was on, at a volume where you could hear the commentary. They also served a different tapas dish free with every drink. There was such a good vibe in there that we visited a few times even when the rugby was not on, to enjoy the ambience and the great food a mix of traditional Spanish with English if you wanted it. It also sits right on the beach so you've got fab views / weather etc. What really makes this a great place is that the owners and their son in law who doubled up as the head barman and head chef couldn't do enough for you.
