Minotauro Tapas is a nice restaurant with cheap tapas near the Alhambra for a good lunch.
Context: After walking up to the San Nicolas viewpoint, we were looking for a nice place to stop for lunch around 1pm. I had read the reviews for Minotauro Tapas on Yelp, so I was looking forward to stopping in!
Ambiance: 3/5 - The restaurant when you are looking in seems quite small, but the establishment extends back quite far. We were seated in the far back next to some storage, which wasn't particularly pleasant. It was pretty dim and poorly lit, giving you a feeling of mustiness. We were a group of 6, so there wasn't much seating for us elsewhere, but I wouldn't give the place high marks on ambiance.
Service: 4/5 - Our waiter, who I believe was taking care of most if not all of the tables, was a really friendly guy that we enjoyed. Originally, we ordered 4 beers and 2 waters, but the 2 waters changed their mind to sangria. He made a joke that water is for washing rather than drinking that we all thought was hysterical. It was a bit slow service, but it was alright. We were a little more aware of it since we had tickets to see the Alhambra right afterward and wanted to make sure that we were there in time. (If you have printed your tickets in advance, it's not a far walk from the Gate of Justice).
Food: 2/5 - Perhaps it was an off day for the restaurant or we had been particularly spoiled by the restaurants where we had been eating, but we weren't particularly impressed by the food. The octopus salad didn't really highlight the flavors of the octopus; the potatoes weren't close to the best patatas bravas that we've had; etc. I was really hoping for more based on the reviews, but we were under impressed by our food. On the bright side, we didn't overpay for our food and everything was very affordable!
Overall, a nice place for quick bite to eat if you need, but I think that there are probably better places to stop in Granada for tapas. read more
