If 4.5 stars was an option, that's what this place would get. But I'm gonna err on the side of generosity for a myriad of reasons: a) cupping lab. It greets you as you walk in, a row of coffee equipment of various types and models, set behind two long wooden tables that face a large window. Through that window is where the magic happens- the roasting floor. And in the cupping lab the staff plays with the beans in every way possible, perfecting them. b) coffee. Guys. I was super impressed. Like, surprised by how impressed I was. I don't know why, but maybe my lack of familiarity with Boquete had set me up to think that there wouldn't be anything to be wowed by. When we walked in, we were given a cup of brewed coffee made from one of their Espresso blends (there are apparently five of those). I raised my eyebrows on the first sip. Promptly finished it. Then we began to taste. Had the Sumatra brewed in a Chemex and followed that with the NoDa Blend. What. I had requested the Sumatra because it is typically a favorite, and may have just found my new favorite. The NoDa was brewed at the suggestion of Chris (a roaster on staff) and I was floored. Pulled us a couple of shots of the same Espresso blend they'd previously served us. Stayed sweet and buttery for a really long time- the taste didn't deteriorate at all. They then served us a Guatemalan iced coffee that had nuances of APPLE in it. APPLE?! Unreal... and perfect. c) coffee cherry tea. I don't drink tea. But they brewed us up a pot of tea made from the coffee cherries that encase the beans. I guess it would technically be considered an herbal tea if you wanted to name it. Loved it. Sweet and earthy all by itself. Drank every drop. d) Dave and Chris. These two guys were our "guides" for the morning- talking us through the coffees and their inspirations for the blends. Dave is the director of the coffee there and Chris roasts. They are both obviously in love with their craft and very proud of what they do. All for good reasons. They were spectacular hosts and lots of fun to be with. There are several other reasons why I love Boquete. I genuinely hope they continue to grow and gain more influence in the coffee world of Charlotte. Stop by and see what they have to offer!

Awesome artwork on the k-cup box!

Great cup of coffee in a totally unassuming little spot. If I was a local it'd be a part of my regular routine.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a consistent lack of customer service, consideration, and basic empathy. During my most recent visit, the woman I spoke with...who had glasses and shoulder length hair...was in the middle of making soap, which I understood she couldn't immediately stop. However, when I explained what I was looking for, instead of offering assistance or even a bit of understanding, I felt completely brushed off. This same dismissive attitude has been present every time I've visited. Because of these repeated experiences, I will no longer be a customer, and I won't be recommending this business to anyone...

There were only a sprinkling of items on sale (like a few T-shirts, sunglasses, and some miscellaneous items), so still a bit to check out. More than retail, it seems the place is now more of an artsy crafty place than a retail store. The entire place looked bigger...more space, since less retail. I thought they should have had some overhead music to fill the empty space, and give it more of a vibe. They still had this bar area, where they served wine (aside from the Jackass Cafe in the back). Still, I love the big, wide, open space that this place has to offer...and its Bohemian vibe. And did I mention their awesome artwork on their walls - both inside and out? I left the store thinking I should partake in their jewelry making on my next visit!

BEST DONUTS IN THE CAROLINAS!!!…read more If that is the only thing you take away from this review - let it be that these donuts are the BEST in NC and SC. Every single donut, fritter, donut hole, long john - you cannot go wrong. My favorite is the chocolate Long John with white buttercream. The owner is precious and so unbelievably friendly! She even threw in a few fee donut holes with our order. The building itself is very cozy and reminds me of a local spot that you can count on for consistent quality and service. So!!! Now for the long story. My brother used to live up in Burlington, NC and would bring donuts from a place called "NC JELLY DONUTS" every time he came to visit. Long story short - we became obsessed. He would bring a dozen donuts and they would be gone before the end of the weekend. Well... the time came for him to move away from Burlington and we all cried because we do not know the next time we would have "NC JELLY DONUTS". Each week we would get in the phone planning our next trip to Burlington - patiently waiting to get our donut fix. We didn't want to branch out because we thought we had found the best. Flash forward to 4/2/2026 - my brother is visiting the CLT area. For the past 6 months have been researching donut shops in the GREATER Charlotte area since we aren't able to get up to Burlington this time. All of my sources have told me - try Momo Donuts - they are incredible. So, that is exactly what we do. From the moment we walked in the door at Momo Donut, we felt at home. Like a warm hug after a long journey. My brother's ears perk up, nose twitches, he looks at me and instantly says "This is NC JELLY DONUTS"!!! I explain to him that... no, this is Momo donuts and is different. When we go to pay for our donuts we mention about our addiction to NC Jelly Donut and ask if they have ever heard of them. That is when the owner bursts into a smile and says "Oh yes, that is my sister!!!" - WHAT A SMALL WORLD! I am happy to share that the addiction has resumed and we are so grateful that Momo donut is now just a short car ride away. A sense of peace and order has returned to the balance of our lives. So, I apologize that there are no photos - the donuts were consumed too quickly to snap a picture. But don't worry - I will visiting again soon! So grateful for this family and their commitment to bringing joy through their baked goods. What a small word that we they have become so vital in our families life. This was such a wonderful surprise!!

They will be able to go above and beyond in taking care of their customers. Actually, they are in "remodel" now as they have already started it. I like their coffee. If you are a regular customer, they will really take care of you. I asked for a cup of water and was expecting to pay for it. However, because they know me, they gave it to me as a compliment. And that wasn't the only time either. Anyway, it's located on the left side as you walk into the entrance to Target. It's convenient if you are coming here to shop at Target. Also, I happen to know, you should expect better things to come after July of 2018. They are getting new equipment, possibly new machines and refrigerators, furniture, tables and chairs soon. They are increasing their footage space. Which means they will be a little bit bigger. How much? Only time will tell. Check this Starbucks out in late Summer of 2018. Their coffee taste great. They have a lot of regulars in the early morning hours. A lot of them look like they just got out of bed. In summary, they have started a remodel here but what they are definitely getting during it, well, we will have wait and see. I do know they have great tasting coffee. I think it has the best coffee presently.
