I discovered Arepa several years back in Raleigh in NCSU campus and always felt that's the best Arepa I ever had. But then comes this place which absolutely set the bar even higher. Their Arepas are really good - given I just tried a black bean Arepa - no meat. I loved it. I also enjoyed their sauces and it is just fun to experiment with different sauces and enjoying the flavors. I won't be surprised if all their sauces were housemade. My friend got Chicken Empanadas and this was first time he was having Venezuelian food - he really liked it. We also tried Flan - it was okay. You probably don't want to try lot of desserts here. Ambience is pretty good here. Loved the dining area.

I have had this place before when it was on 50th and I was much more impressed this time around. I really enjoyed all the sauces they provided for the table: garlic, cilantro, chipotle, spicy, and habanero. The empanada was soooo tasty and the beef in everything was great. The location is conveniently across from a big and pretty empty parking lot so it was also easy to drop in to eat. I will definitely be craving this place again.

Luckily we got there around 5 and were able to get 4 bar seats. Our server Colin was awesome! He happened to be from San Diego like the rest of us which made for great conversation and attentive service! The Happy hour was not just a good deal but the food was outstanding.... We ordered the oysters, chefs burger (OMG), empanadas (delicious) and the star of the show was the prawn and turf (that sauce and sourdough combo was amazing) Literally counting the days till I'm back, golfing at chambers bay and stopping by asado on the way back.

We got the Lomo ($68) and the Parilla Mixta ($50) with the mashed potatoes and the polenta. The last time we came here, they brought out a delicious complimentary bread but it seems like they don't do that anymore. My boyfriend liked his lomo (filet mignon) and it had a nice sear and the chimichurri and demi glace was delicious. My parilla mixta was yummy but the skirt steak was on the blander side and the sausage was nothing special but I really like the shrimp and the polenta was delicious. Overall everything was fresh and the food came out quick and our waitress was really nice. The restaurant wasn't too crowded when we were there but it looked like it was filling up and it is a cute spot for a date night or dinner with friends! It's definitely on the pricier side but we would come back to try their pastas or other dishes!

Most Caribbean spots around Washington lean Jamaican, so finding a place doing proper Puerto Rican dishes felt special. The menu and quality reminded me of what you'd find back on the island, at least pre-pandemic. They had classics like chillo frito, mofongo, and pasteles, and it tasted like homemade small business cooking. Honestly, I thought it was even better than La Isla before the fire that shut that place down. A few pain points. It's far. The restaurant is south of Tacoma near I-5, so it's a bit of a drive whether you're coming from Seattle or even from the airport. It was also cash only when I went, though you could sit inside and eat. Last time I called it sounded like they were still mostly doing the to-go model and hadn't fully gone back to the way it used to operate. I haven't made the trip again yet, but it's still on my list. Also worth saying, after the pandemic when I moved to San Diego, I couldn't find an authentic Puerto Rican spot there either. That made me appreciate this place even more. After the Benito Super Bowl performance I'm definitely craving some Puerto Rican food again. Might have to make the drive soon.

Not sure if it was always like this or just near closing hours when we arrived to pick up our order., The lady at the cash register was most pleasant and our orders were complete, cooked to order hot and fresh. We ordered 2 orders of the chicken dinners, pollo playero and had bits of pork added to it. We also ordered a side of beans. The food was freshly cooked, so it was nice and hot. It was well seasoned. The meats were tender (with the exception of the pork bits inside the rice). The food had a beautiful presentation with onion, green and red pepper slices on top of the meats.

I'll start with the beef, as it was the primary component of the dish. Despite it being flank steak, it was clearly simmered for a long time - and displayed none of the traditionally chewy or dry properties associated with the tougher cut. The sauce also helped - it was very well spiced, and had a slight tomato-like flavor. Mixing this with the yellow rice yielded something that was really satisfying to eat. The combination of sauce, beef, and rice was quite enjoyable, even with mixing the vegetables in for some extra crunch. The portion size of beef was crazy. When combined with the rice, the total amount of food here was solidly enough for two full meals. It is around 20 dollars for the dish, but I would classify that as a good value when you consider how much food you get. On the opposite side, I swapped the maduros out for fries. These...were not good. The fries tasted stale, hard, and not appealing at all. While the portion size was high, the appeal was not. The sauce that came with these was interesting at least. Overall, I think this is a very strong core dish at an impressive portion. Would recommend sticking with the plantains as a side though. 8.5/10

I haven't had a real Cubano but if it's like what we had at Cafe con Leche then I may need to book a flight. It was so good! We started with a small shot of espresso and moved on to a pair of tasty sandwiches. A Cubano for him and a marinated chicken sandwich for me. Our server was drifting between Spanish and English and greeted a number of the customers like old friends. Always an excellent sign.

Wandering the neighborhood freely (the Light Rail 2 Line making Seattle so much more accessible!) I saw this cute little restaurant and decided to try Venezuelan food for the first time. Ordering was easy as there is a little kiosk to input the order. The pictures and descriptions made the decision easy. We waited a few minutes and out came this whole tray of food. The chicken arepa was great! At first I was a bit concerned because I saw all that cheese and wondered if that would smother the taste, but found the whole experience was super balanced. The chicken was marinated in this bright sauce that balanced the creaminess of the cheese. With the spicy sauce packet it added a punch that was perfect! Soooo good! Best churro I have eaten in King County as well. Crunchy on the out, soft on the in, and nice and cinnamon. Wonderful. All in all would highly recommend for fast convenient arepas.
