Never hire this company!!! They took advantage of our situation! We had horrible water damage to our home. I happened to meet Bob and his wife by chance. They were very empathetic to our situation, and were quick to stop by and give us a free estimate. Everything sounded great. He said let him deal with our insurance company. When he got back, 3 weeks later, everything matched up. So he got the job. Work started, and everything was going great. After some jobs were done, we pointed out things which needed to be fixed. For example, our drywall needed to be replaced. His workers put it up, but made mistakes where the outlets go. Once the outlet cover went on, there was still a hole left. Ok, minor, and Bob said "Oh, that's minor. Let's get the major stuff done, and fix the minor stuff at the end. Get you back up and running." Got it, and trusted. Bad mistake! The carpet, they purchased, was another issue. They didn't order enough. So not all of the carpet was installed. When they reset our cabinets they don't line up. Now, I'm getting upset and called . He promised he would be back to check everything out. Have never heard from or saw him again. He's going to be upset when he hears from our lawyer soon. I'm not this person at all, but he said he still had $4000 of our money we could work with. So, he didn't complete a job, and has our money. Not going away, Bob! read more

What a poor job. I would not recommend this company. First, they have one person who is supposed to be the expert on fixing everything (backsplashes, flooring, plumbing, lighting, painting, etc). That person would even say he didn't want to do certain work because he was not good at it. Then Bob would say, "oh he is good, he is just saying that to be modest". The work looks awful. SCAMMER - We picked out all of our supplies at Menards only to find out that he keeps the 11% rebate for delivery fees. When I asked how much the delivery fees would be for Lowes, since they don't have rebates, I was told "we don't charge delivery fees". So why are you keeping my rebates? Then they told me this is our always our practice and nobody has ever complained. I guess I'm the only one that thought to ask??? In the end he relented and said we could keep it but you shouldn't have to fight for it. Then when he found out I was getting another quote he said he didn't have time to do our job after all. And he gets an attitude when you question anything he does - him having road rage doesn't surprise me at all!!! read more

I am the 5th complaint regarding an encounter on the road with them. Mine was not as intense as the others and I wasn't going to comment until I saw how many others had. What happens when these people cause an accident? And to behave like that while advertising their business and still not giving a f***?? Have more respect for your community...especially if you are a business owner. It sounds like their construction is as terrible as their driving so buyer beware! read more

Greatly overpriced operation. I was charged $875 for about an hour for nailing down and caulking some loose flashing. My fault for not checking reviews on this outfit and getting multiple quotes before hiring him. His competitors have excellent reviews and I would have used one of them if I had done my research. I cant speak to the quality of the work since this was a house sale and there was no reinspection. Lesson learned. read more

They don't actually hire workers. They hire sub contractors, so if something is wrong or not how it needs to be done it's not their fault when they got hired to do it not the sub contractors. I would say hire someone who has workers and not someone who hires for job it's kinda ridiculous. read more

We hired Bob's Construction to install a new double oven and induction cooktop. They showed up on time and did a fabulous job. Because our previous cooktop was only 30 inches they had to cut out the granite to accommodate our 36 inch cooktop. They figured out a way to replace our old microwave oven unit with a double oven while keeping the warming drawer and not having to change the cabinetry above it. We were amazed at how great it look when they finished. read more

From Facebook- Driving home in drizzly rain from baseball with my 3 children, and Bob's Construction thinks it's ok to come hauling @$$ down 31 and skeez through a little tiny spot between my car and another, as he whips his no flag having ladder truck all dangerously in front of me. So I call 339-7912, Bob's Construction, and ask him if he's the one whipping his truck all dangerously in front of me, he says well I'm in a hurry, and I've never had any tickets, well idc Bob! Either i have really bad luck or this guy just looks for me ... this makes the 3rd time that the owner (in a fully marked truck that promotes his business) rides my ass and freaks out drove in wrong lane all because I wasn't moving at the pace his old ass wanted . Everything from start to finish went perfectly with this company. Bob the owner initially came out because I submitted a request with another company who dropped the ball and never came out to do the roof inspection. He walked me through every detail and answered all of my questions that I had -there were many. He also worked with my insurance to make sure all the storm damaged items were replaced. He has now helped me with several other projects around my home. Bob is very knowledgeable, and affordable. I highly recommend this company and have already higher him again. read more

Had them paint my ceiling in the living room and dining room. Well, the ceiling is streaking, looks light there is a skim coat on it. They supposed to come back this week to fix it. They canceled for the third time this week. I never seen anyone so unreliable. What a way to run a business. read more

I had Bob's construction come out and do a fence for us 3 years ago. They were professional and on time, gave a very fair quote. They did the fence in two days. 3 years later the fence is still standing and in great shape. I would recommend Bobs construction to anyone need work in the Indy area. read more

I've had problems getting callbacks and finding contractors with availability of less than 6 weeks out. Bobs calls back, had good availability to start the work, and a fair price. The workers were friendly and did a great job on the work and with matching the trim already in our home. read more

Bob's Construction quoted a price then kept adding on upgrade fees. Kept changing the finish date. Rarely showed up. Gives work to subs, day labor so no one is accountable. Never disclosed they failed inspection. Wired plugs (line load) incorrectly. Looped incoming breakers together. Drywalled over two electrical outlets with live wires. Two walls cracking. Garage door gap. Shower pan doesn't drain. Damaged all the door frames and poorly patched after I complained. Workers try to intimidate you and coerce you into accepting poor quality work and write good reviews on BBB. Actually, insulted me and said I probably never built a home, that nothing is ever perfect and I'm lucky they even came back to make some repairs. Refused to provide me material list and pricing. Would get delivery and then their crew would come haul off materials from my property. I do not recommend this company due to all the issues I've had over the past 10 months. Too many issues to list all in this box. Indianapolis Home Show should screen their vendors. read more

I would like to do my due diligence of warning not only customers but other contractors away from this business. I would not use Bob's construction for any work. There are much better, REPUTABLE companies out there that would gladly take your business. Bob's construction as a whole is mismanaged and needs to be put out of business. Dishonest, deceitful is just the tip of the iceberg. They do not honor their contracts, and they definitely do not honor their word. Bobs' Construction was the absolute worst company to deal with! Bob is a nice guy but lets his son Kyle run all over him. Kyle runs the business and is providing low quality work. I had a job that Kyle did LESS than half of the work that was clearly written on HIS contract and mine and threw a fit when I asked for a revised invoice. He cursed at me multiple times and Bob had to play peace maker and hold a conversation with us on 3-way and had to remind Kyle what respect is. Last time I checked I was the customer. I almost forgot it took 6 MONTHS for them to complete this job (they were onsite 1.5 days) If you want an argument, headache, and drawn out job than hire these guys... If not, I would run as far away from this company as possible!! Looking at Yelp reviews from previous customers just shows how terrible this company is! read more

Fast & friendly service. Everyone we encountered was very knowledgeable and completed the work quickly and efficiently.

They didn't show up 2 days when they had appointments with me to do work and I had taken vacation days to be there. Once, they left to get equipment and called me from another job and would send someone else who arrived 8 hours later. They didn't complete the job, not finishing the basement floor or hauling away items such as a damp indoor/outdoor rug. The work they did on a portion of the floor was ruined when they didn't plug in my sump pump to an outlet they were using and water got on that part of the basement. I would never use them again or recommend them to anybody. read more

My mother hired them to add a shower, floor laminate and misc other projects/tasks... Let's review the facts: The shower door fell off, the tiles in shower are crooked and falling out, the little cubby holes they added in the shower DON'T DRAIN OUTWARD, the floor is uneven and noisy with debris left under it. These are facts without opinion, you can make up your own mind to use them or not. read more

Bob's Construction has road rage issues. I was turning left at a stop light. The car in front of me went through the yellow light, meaning by law, I must stop. BOB WAS BEHIND ME! So he expected to make the light as well. He whipped his big white Bob's Construction truck into the other lane cutting off another driver. Bob then started to yell and cuss at me while making strange hand gestures. Needless to say, I was terrified and trembling. So the light turns green and gives me a green arrow. I think, "finally I'll be safe". But Bob waits for me to complete my turn so he can have another yell. Now he's using his phone to video me. In this day and age of anger and violence I would NEVER let this man into my house. I wouldn't even let him in my yard to build a dog house. I no longer submit to bullies Bob. I hired this company for a fairly large construction job to update a home, and given a three week completion date which ended up taking 3 plus months. The walls that were painted were not completely covered and the base trim around floors and doors were also not completely covered (similar to streaks) and some were even left unpainted (as well as inside of closets). Doors were painted and I would guess no primer was used, as the paint is peeling off door. Tops of doors were left unpainted, and when asked to come back to complete, dripping dried paint was left on doors, windows, etc. Paint was found on new floors, opened caulking tube left on new carpet, screws and nails found in new carpet, trash left behind new cabinets, and cigarette butts left on homeowner and neighbor's properties. Also, had to ask more than once to remove construction trash that was piled up in the garage. When putting in tiles for new shower, broken tiles were placed on the wall. When asked to replace them before adding the grout, a couple were replaced, but the other broken pieces were filled in with grout (their reason being blamed on the quality of the tiles). A cabinet was ordered in the wrong size further delaying completion. On a positive note, the men that installed new carpeting were extremely professional, respectful, and hard working individuals. Also, very pleased with the fireplace mantel and wall. With that being said, lack of communication and accountability is a HUGE issue. In this situation, home owner was blamed for nearly everything that wasn't correct even though they (construction company) were hired to do a professional job. Having 20 plus years of experience does not necessarily make a professional. read more

This company was recommended to us by our realtor during our home buying process. We hired them to fix some plumbing, paint, install flooring, and do some outside work. It took them 3 times to fix the plumbing correctly and the painter left drops of paint on the baseboards all over. The flooring had some gaps and they damaged some of the existing tile we had planned to leave when they were installing hardwood in a few of the rooms. When I called Bob to address with him in a professional manner, he was extremely aggressive, cussed at me and accused me of lying. He belittled me and was incredibly rude. The workers also smoked in our garage while working and left nails, cigarette butts, and sawdust in the garage. The only item we were happy with was the outside work, but then again I haven't gotten on a ladder to look at it in depth other than getting up by the gutter to take a pair of gloves out that one of the workers left there and it clogged up a gutter line. The only good thing about the company is one of his project managers, Tim. He's the only thing that's holding that company together as he was nice and tried to fix some of the things I pointed out and apologized for his boss' behavior. I was nothing but respectful towards them but their owner is a bigoted asshole who is also chauvinistic towards women. I would NOT recommend them. read more

There really is not one good thing I can think of to write about Bob's Construction. We talked to Dave with Bob's Construction and explained to him we had a bath and a half that we wanted remodeled but we wanted to purchase all of the fixtures(Vanity,Bathtub, Light fixtures, Mirrors and plumbing). This was fine but they highly recommended we use Menards because they were given such a great discount. Dave introduced us to Ryan our project manager and so it all began. He could not understand why we purchased such expensive tile when Menards carried good tile. The tile guys were a father and son who Ryan said he found on Craigs list. When they first started it was great, but then the father died and the son just could not get it together. The full bath had several areas of concern to us but Ryan insisted it looked like it did because it was a natural stone and that just the way it was. The door in that bath was stained in a way that the stain ran and had rough spots, Ryan said in order to fix that he would have to purchase a new door, which he said he ordered. Fast forward to the half bath the marble that was installed the tile guy chipped and broke and went ahead used anyway why I don't know because we had extra. Came home one day to a house full of dust because he was cutting in the house ( Clothes, furniture and curtains were full of dust not to mention the carpets and wood furniture. The electricians he used drug insulation through out the house and complained about the wage they were making. I told Ryan they were not allowed back in the house. When we started to apply pressure for Ryan to fix the mistakes he went on vacation and forgot to tell us. WE paid half of the agreed upon price when the the first bath was done. Now Ryan wanted paid he said he needed it to met payroll. I should have never paid him but I did. The half bath we cannot use because the shower head was not installed properly, Ryan said we needed a brace for it but when talking to the plumbing supply she said no way probably was not installed correctly , When my husband told him he was going to call Bob, Ryan told him he might want to rethink that because Bob was already upset because the job was taking longer than expected and he would never agree to fix what we wanted fixed. When Tim spoke with Bob on the phone he was a real jerk he would not even come out to the house to look at the complaints that we had. Never ever again and I would not recommend this company to sweep my walks. Terrible read more
