Their menu is diverse enough to accommodate everyone in your group if they feel like eating different kinds of food. They don't serve liquor, but they have beer and wine. I was surprised by the quality of the food - it tasted fresh, flavorful, and cooked very well (not over salted, not greasy, not bland). Also, the menu pricing is unbeatable compared to most restaurants these days. I will absolutely be going back, and it will probably become one of our regular spots. Great quality food at a great price and great service- what more could you want ..... be back soon and thank you !

The decor is a different vibe and welcoming and music - who can complain about hearing Stevie b, lisa lisa and other 80s Bands on the speakers - I felt pretty good. Overall the food did not taste bad and I want to say there is potential with some fixes. I had the trip tip sandwich and I have to say was good but it was the thinnest slice and I mean one slice of tri tip on my sandwich. This can be improved upon since the price for it was nowhere near what I expected. You can skimp on some meat but this was honestly sad. I hope this establishment improves upon this since others won't come back even though it was tasty and the fries were piping hot as they should be.

Smiles on top smiles. I only heard good things from people around me not a one negative remark. Wondering out side, tucked in out of the rain was Francisco (Pancho) working smoothly. Checking the pizzas and making them seemed seamless all one move plus answering my nosey questions. Five Star Catering is INCREDIBLE!!…read more I am not one to leave reviews (I think this is my first ever haha... but I had to this time!) I cannot sing the praises of Five Star Catering enough! From start to finish of the wedding planning process they excelled in communicating, understanding our vision, working with our budget, and making us feel so taken care of. The wedding day could not have gone more smoothly. The appetizers were gorgeous and our guests raved about them, the drinks from the bar were so creatively done and the hard huckleberry lemonade they helped us to create as one of our signature drinks was a HUGE hit with the guests! The wedding feast was absolutely delicious. My husband and I were so impressed by the presentations and especially taste of the food. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD. Five Star Catering's wedding food is not your typical "wedding food." We all felt like we went out to a five star restaurant and guests were non stop talking about how tasty all of the food was. I stumbled across a pop-up Casas de Humo BBQ (on Instagram @casasdehumobarbecue) which was going to be featured at a local bar in Monterey called Pearl Hour the night before we were heading down. so we changed our plans and headed to Monterey a day early (Thur 6/17), and man was it worth it. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. Best of the best hands down. the tacos were fresh, the meat melted in your mouth and the salsa was amazing! The brioche bun on the sandwich was fresh; not soggy like other BBQ places serve. On Instagram I saw they make a bbq pork or beef sandwich with a jelly filled donut as the bun called the "Jelly D" which looks ambrosial (check it out yourself on their Instagram. it wasn't on the menu that night so we spotted one of the owners (family run business) and chit-chatted him up and he said they would be featuring the Jelly D Sat 6/19 starting at 12pm at the Joyce Wine Company at 1 E Carmel Valley Rd, Carmel, Ca. so today, we are heading there to dive into the JELLY D and whatever else they have on their menu, because trust me, we are tasting it all! Will update later. Update: the Jelly D was simply Ambrosial (word of the day). We ordered both the brisket jelly D and the pork Jelly D. both were light, flavorful and delicious. Once you pick it up it's hard to put down. The pairing of the Jelly D with Joyce wine company's Gamay Noir wine was perfect match. Casas de Humo Barbecue turned out to be the best adventure of our Monterey weekend getaway that took us to amazing places we may not have ventured without them. Their food was simply amazing and paired well with both places. Cant wait to see where Casas de Humo Barbecue takes us next. We shall see you soon.
