Matty's is massive, with a ton of seating outside. The big screen tv makes this place perfect to see the game with friends and family, and is pet friendly. There are fire pits, oversized games, outdoor bars, a grill that serves select food and easy access to all areas of the restaurant and event space. This place has a great, lively vibe. The bartenders, patrons and staff were all friendly. Although our service on the patio was a bit slow, the food was very good. I had the Turkey Avocado BLT Wrap, and it was perfect. Lots of turkey, with the right amount of veggies and portioned aioli to create a well balanced flavor. I would definitely go back to Matty's to watch a game, and enjoy the energy that everyone brings and shares.

Our waiter was very attentive. We ordered a bottle of wine to share, and I did have a cocktail as well. Their cocktail menu is put together very well. They have an option for everyone. I ordered the chilean sea bass. The parmesan crust on it was perfect. For some reason I was picturing a more crispy hard crust, but it was nice and soft. The fish itself was perfectly cooked. We were eating outside, and we barely saw her while we were waiting. My husband eventually had to go inside to check with someone, and it took another 15 minutes before we finally got an update. The manager did make an effort to make things right. He took $20 off our bill and gave us free dessert, which we really appreciated. That said, I think we'll be back. It's a beautiful place with good food, and we really enjoyed what we had. The service just needs some work. Our waitress was very sweet, but seemed a little timid and didn't check on us much. Even getting drink refills took quite a while. Overall, we had a good experience despite the wait, and hopefully the service improves because we'd definitely like to come back!

The parking lot is quite small and the place looks decent but can fill up quickly given the craft-focused tables. When I stopped in, there were only 2 servers - one at the bar, the other cooking and running food out. The bar service was very slow and no apology or anything for the 10 minute wait for a glass of wine. The food was okay but a little underdone on the tots. However, you could tell he was trying and hustling to get things out. The place felt warm and balmy and it just doesn't seem worth the prices they have to hang out here for more than an hour or two. I'm in no hurry to go back, but maybe would check out one of the other event nights and see if it's a bit less busy.

The drinks are reasonable with a tall rail cocktail at $4 which was nice.

Food: Ordered my usual London Fog Tea Latte, with a little lavender, a little vanilla, and extra frothy. I would have liked it served in a mug, but they only offer paper cups. The drink was nicely made. I am used to having the tea steeped first and then finished with frothed milk. In this case, the milk was frothed first and the tea bag was added afterward. The result was a very frothy drink, but the tea flavor was a bit weaker than I prefer. Service: I arrived close to noon and the place was about half full. There was only one person working, taking orders, handling payment, and making drinks. Because of that, it took a while to place my order. That said, the person doing all the work was super friendly and helpful, and took the time to make the drink properly. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is relaxing, with lots of big windows and natural light. There are several different seating areas with various table and chair configurations. There is counter seating, high tops, and overstuffed leather chairs. It was a cold day, but the space was very comfortable inside. Everyone was having quiet conversations and being respectful of the environment. Overall, a nice visit. It would benefit from a bit more staffing to speed things up, and ceramic cups for hot drinks would be a great addition.

Decided to meet some friends at Vintage 38 last night and was not disappointed…read more First of all, parking in the village can be difficult to find. Their location, situated at the end of the strip, made finding parking a breeze. The staff was helpful in the selection process and came back to the table to ensure everyone was enjoying it. Even after we settled on a Boudreaux Blanc, the staff, hearing I wasn't the biggest fan of whites, came back to offer me a sample of a red he thought I may enjoy. He was 100% right. They have ample outdoor seating which we utilized this evening. Luckily this evening, the villages 4th of July festivities were also happening so we had some live music to enjoy as well. Finally, while they put together a tasty charcuterie board themselves, they also team up with other village establishments to offer more food options that can be delivered right to your table at Vintage 38. Tonight we needed something a little more so went with a pizza. It's a great option to enjoy a perfect evening in the Greendale village.

Overall I was impressed with the portion size and the planning of the menu. The execution fell a little short though in my opinion. In particular three things: The pancetta aracini didn't have any pancetta in it. And the cheese inside was not melted completely. This led to some clumps when eating it that were unpleasant. The second thing was the braised beef and mushroom gnocchi. The gnocchi were a little tougher than I would have preferred. The beef however was braised absolutely beautifully with a perfect texture. The third was the salmon crepe. It was served room temp to preserve the salmon in the dish. But IMO the cream cheese in the crepe didn't eat well at room temp. Just my opinion and most of the others at the tasting seemed to enjoy it. I'm not nuanced enough to say if the Rye's paired well with the dishes they were served with but nothing stood out to say they didn't pair well. Overall, very happy with the event, the food, the atmosphere and definitely want to go back.
