My in-laws have been bragging on this place the past couple of years, even saying it is better than the legendary Log Inn located a few miles south. We had a reservation for 8 and were seated in the cozy stand alone room just inside the entrance to the left. We were greeted by our server Micah who had a wonderful smile and very warm welcome (Midwest, small town, charm). She was friendly, eager to serve, and a great promoter of the place. Having called ahead and notified we were having family-style, our food arrived within 10 minutes of our arrival. We enjoyed the pepper Jack nuggets as our appetizer and they were very tasty. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin coating. The mashed potatoes and milk gravy were very good as well. We enjoyed corn and green beans as our vegetables and the vinegar Cole slaw was a nice complement to the meal. Giant glasses of sweat tea completed the meal! There's no question we will return again in the future, but feel the Log Inn is a cut above in comparison.
