My first time here, They were highly recommended. Mine was a fairly difficult issue, and it ended up being a fuel pump. The mechanic called me prior to doing the work, to tell me the diagnosis; and they worked on it over the holiday weekend. Even though I told him I wasn't in a huge hurry, they did excellent work at a very fair price and got my vehicle back a day earlier than expected. I was very happy with the service, Vinny was a great guy to deal with. Honesty, quality service and fair pricing... I have a new mechanic now. I'll be bringing in my girlfriend's Camaro in for some work next. I highly recommend Bob Davis, ask for Vinny! read more

So I dropped my Hyundai Tucson off at Bob Davis Auto Repair to get a quote and diagnose the A/C not working along with the check engine light that had come on. Vinnie told me everything looked fine and that he'd email me a quote after I left my information. Later that day, I received the quote for a new A/C compressor totaling $1,100. Since this was my first time at the shop, I wanted to double-check that this was definitely the issue before committing. After emailing him back that I'll take some time to think it over, he responds saying I owe him a $150 diagnosis fee added on that was never mentioned when I dropped the car off. I called to politely ask about it and whether I had signed anything or been told about the fee upfront. Vinnie immediately responded with, "Never mind, you're not my type of customer, don't ever call me again," and hung up on me. I have no issue paying a diagnosis fee when it's disclosed in advance, but the lack of transparency and the abrupt, unprofessional reaction spoke volumes. It felt like a shady tactic, especially during my very first interaction with the business. Overall, extremely unprofessional and not a shop I can recommend. read more

This was the first time at this establishment. Very happy with their service. I showed up a little early when they opened, I recommend going early. Was asked if I could wait an hour or two but was out of there in about half an hour. I paid cash for my oil change so was charged a bit less and the cost was right in line with what I expected to pay. Every employee I came in contact with was friendly and respectful. This is not a fancy garage. You can wait in a lawn chair outside or across the street in the diner. I happen to be comfortable in this environment so all good. I chose to come here because my friend recommended them and their reviews were good too. So here's one more good review! read more

I needed a tiny, cheap little part for my Mercedes. A simple little panel. Not only did it take him a week and a half to get it in, but he never called me. I called his shop this morning, because they were closed over the weekend, to tell him my son was in a bad car accident over the weekend and totaled my car. His response over and over again was "oh great, I'm out 100 bucks. That's just great! " Not once did he ask if my son even survived the accident, but he was extremely rude and completely unprofessional. And that's after giving him thousands in repairs and maintenance in the last year. Please don't go there! This is how he treats disabled veterans read more

Too pushy too aggressive and to assuming to insensitive don't feel comfortable with this guy. I went to two other places and they said I don't even need what Bob Davis says I need. I don't feel like I can trust him because I'm a senior adult I think he has an advantage that he stays he can get over on me and get away with it. I don't trust somebody like him I tried to talk to him to tell him my situation but it didn't seem to matter to him. He can request very insensitive read more

My local mechanic retired. I went solely based upon the online recommendations to Bob Davis after my ac stopped cooling. Vinny did not disappoint me. He diagnosed the issue and repaired it consistent with the estimate. The ac runs great now. He replaced the evaporator and the dryer and it cools great. And, unlike the dealership, he didn't damage anything else or overwork the car. Reasonable charges as it's a local owned shop. Very pleased and will go back. read more

It was my first trip as this shop was recommended by my friend who has had work done there. I had brought my car to another shop, one I had frequented in the past. That shop insisted that I needed a brake job though I had a complete job done last year. I balked and I took my car to Bob Davis shop. I asked Vinnie, the manager, to check my brakes. He looked them over and he told me they were just fine. He did some other work for me and didn't charge for examining the brakes. Efficient and excellent work. Vinnie is a nice guy, easy to talk to and he explains everything well. They now have me as permanent patron. read more

Did excellent work on my 20 year old Lexus timing belt shocks all done in a timely manner at an affordable price.

Once again, fast, professional, affordable service on our 10 year old Toyota! Thank you!

Took my 2016 Hyundai in for wheel balance, Rotation and alignment. Unfortunately they don't have the equipment for the alignment so they partner with Gonz a block away for the alignment. Excellent honest work at both places. All in less then two hours. They don't try to upsell you on repairs etc. read more

Highly recommend bringing your car here!! I took my 2015 Subaru here for a AC evaporator replacement, and they did it for half the price from what the dealership wanted. Vinny was awesome through the whole experience. Cannot thank you guys enough! read more

My boyfriend went to there a couple times to have some work done on his truck. One of the last times he took the truck there, they were supposed to fix his crank shaft. After they supposedly fixed the crank shaft, it broke again a couple of months later. Vinny gave him this song and dance about the engine needing to be replaced. My boyfriend decided to get a second opinion, because while he is not a mechanic, he does work on his own vehicles as a hobby, and something wasn't adding up. As it turns out, THEY NEVER REPLACED THE CRANK SHAFT! All they did was put it back together and use some type of adhesive to make the bolts stay together. VERY SHODDY WORK. Vinny and his mechanics are a bunch of thieves and scam artists out to take your money! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! read more

Vinny provided EXCELLENT quality service. Could not recommend more. Will return. Always. read more

One of the hardest things about being new to an area is finding businesses and people you can trust. Let me tell you, these guys are very trustworthy! A friend referred me 3 years ago and it is the only place I take both of my cars to! It's a family owned business. Vinny is very helpful and honest. He knows my family doesn't make too much and works with us. He never pushes us to get any work done on our car unless it's in dire need. If you are unsure about work that needs to be done on your car and don't have a reliable, trustworthy mechanic to go to, I highly suggest seeing Vinny, Bob and the rest of the guys at Bob David Auto. They will give you all the best options for you, do the repairs in a timely manner and you'll leave feeling safe! read more

My Son called me in NJ from Lake Worth Fl. Describing what could possibly be a Blown Head Gasket on his car which would be a major repair. He had already called someone else who said if that was it he would need a new engine. I went on line and found Bob Davis Auto. After speaking with Vinny I knew right away this was a mechanic I could trust. (My Father in Law owns a Auto Repair Shop here in NJ and my wife is the service Manager although I did not tell Vinny that). Within an hour Vinny had the car towed in and later that Friday (Labor Day Weekend) he called and told me that what he found it was much less than I feared and he could have the car done the following day. I could not be more pleased with their Honest Reliability and Service. From 1000 miles away I know where to go whenever I have any Automotive needs. read more
