There is always such a great variety. You can find beautiful produce from local farmers, fresh made-to-order food, olive oils and balsamic vinegars, handmade soaps, jewelry, and even unique items like dog leashes and toys made from fire hoses. There is always something interesting to discover, and new vendors seem to pop up regularly. One of my favorite things after coming here for so many years is getting to know some of the vendors and seeing their friendly, smiling faces week after week. It really gives the market that wonderful local community feel. The produce has always been fresh and delicious, there is plenty of parking, and I rarely leave empty-handed. Such a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning and a Murrieta tradition I continue to enjoy. Definitely worth a visit!

Most of the vendors were friendly and some offered samples. It's perfect because it's outside the promenade away from the crowdedness (far from the stores & close up parking) and you're not worrying about people driving through. I came here just to try Press Espresso, one of few shops and eateries at this plaza, but didn't realize it was in such a historic place. I initially thought all the shops here were recently build to look like the old west, but in reading about the history on its website, learned that this area has been in existence since 1867. According to the website, it has been the heart of Temecula since then. Originally built by German immigrant, Louis Wolf, it was used as a trading post next to Temecula Creek. After his death in 1905, area was purchased by Arizona cattle baron, Walter Vail, who turned it into a cattle ranch. In 1964, it was sold to developers who turned it into a master-planned community. The area remained vacant for several decades until it was restored fully in 2007. This place now houses several unique shops and eateries, and is also used for events and Farmers Market. This is actually a plaza within a bigger plaza, which has more commercial retailers like Kohl's, Walmart, Marshalls, and several others. Kind of an odd mix, but glad the city decided to keep a portion of its history alive.

It was a big enough sandwich that I took the other half home! I also got a cornbread muffin from Gumbo pot- which was good but a little dry. There's plenty of shade, though the area is mostly outdoors- lots of trees and buildings with covers and awnings. There's a fancy French market in there and plenty of eating options (though open hours vary). Come by this historic stop, walk through the Grove, and enjoy the hustle and bustle!
