Bought a boat with Aj motor ran for 15 mins. then locked up was promised a new motor to make things right. Aj told us to bring the boat back to Marrero he would change out the powerhead he kept the boat for a month. Didn't get a new motor nor did he put it on was given a motor he claimed to have a brand new power head on and it was rusted out full of ants on the inside. Told him about the problem, he said he didnt think it was that bad and said he had a new motor he was going to get to us. All we got was excuse after excuse and still no motor and over 7k lost. I went by AJ after seeing an ad he put on craigslist. He included a youtube vid of him driving the boat in the listing, which is really neat. I went to The Boat Yard (nearby in Marrero) first and it was miserable. They couldn't care less about me, as my budget was around the $4000 range, and told me unless I have $10000, I am not getting a boat. So I went by AJ and found a different boat that we liked a lot. 17' dual console, good starter for an awesome price. Bought it in the middle of him working on buffing it :) Got a good deal. AJ is a great and honest guy. Really trustworthy, really happy with the experience overall. Will definitely send people over to him to buy or sell their boats, and will be going back to him for a new boat when I am ready for one. Thanks again, AJ! read more

Short and long of it-DON'T TAKE YOUR BOAT ANYWHERE ELSE! These guys are incredible. In January I inadvertantly filled my tank with water. I took it to another repair shop. They did everything wrong that they did do and didnt do most of what they said they did They charged me a fortune and after returning there 3 times to give them a chance to fix it, I ended up breaking down in the intercoastal water way and had to have a tow! when I got home I did some investigating and discovered that everything that should have been done, wasn't. They even left the original 1996, rusted out fuel/water seperator in! this is a boats 101 process! I took it to AJ and he completely re-did the whole thing, charged me half the price and the boat runs like its new. He even took me down to the boat launch and spent a good 45 minutes running it with me and showed me how to find the sweet spot on plane. NEVER, EVER, EVER will I take or buy a boat anywhere else!
