Y'all be careful when purchasing from The Boat Yard Inc ! My husband bought a boat from The Boat Yard with a warranty. Less than a year later, the motor stopped working. It's been in the shop for over a month. He brought it to Landry's (in Des Allemands). They took the whole motor apart and confirmed it was band aided. Come to find out, the motor had been worked on before, but you couldn't tell unless the whole motor was taken apart. None of this was mentioned when purchasing and the warranty won't cover anything & the owner is useless. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Logan will do anything and everything to sell you a boat. He will lie, cheat, and steal. Picture the worst used car lot in the south and picture the boat yard, it's worse then that. Logan won't last because his negative reviews are increasing daily. The Boat Yard Marrero Louisiana recently had a boat I was interested in purchasing. However they were six hours from my home in Texas and I didn't want to make the drive there merely on the off chance that the boat was exactly what I was looking for. Although this specific boat was ultimately not what I wanted. I was extremely satisfied with Captain Logan Boudreaux, who went out of his way to timely and accurately provide me with the information I needed to make a purchase decision. Worst place to deal with have poor customer service! They never return calls an have poor Attitudes

Absolute nightmare of a boat buying experience. Bought a used consignment boat from Seth, which I realize was "as-is," but the boat was nowhere near in the condition represented and has clearly been submerged or sunk. Water in: 1) gas, 2) engine oil, 3) power pole res, 4) jack-plate res, 5) lower unit, 6) ALL electronics below the deck. All solenoids were shot. Seth claimed engine was good with a recent full fuel service (by boat yard), they even ran it for me, yet there wasn't even a fuel filter installed on the engine, and the engine fuel system AND gas tank were full of water. Water/fuel separator was rusted out. Thermostat was frozen. Harmonic balancer shot. Lower unit req'd a rebuild/reseal. Trailer was wired incorrectly (by boat yard). Axle rusted out and likely not road worthy. Hydraulic steering leaking from multiple locations ("just needs some fluid"). Not to mention he was all over the place during the purchase, one day claiming the boat had been there for months with no interest, then all of a sudden people were beating the door down. Trolling motor disappeared halfway through the deal, though he did get me a suitable replacement. Still waiting on registration for the trailer (5 months now). Title took over a month. Boat has been in one shop or another in the local area for weeks, and in every case when I mention the Boat Yard I get an eye roll and a sigh. I knew the boat needed some TLC, but a complete overhaul of almost every system was NOT part of the deal. read more

So, personally I'm not the biggest on giving praise for a job well done, I feel that everything should be done to the best of your ability, and I'm definitely not the type of person who generally would take the time to write a review, but here we go... This is going to be the good, the bad and ugly, straight forward and raw. I've heard of horror stories come from The Boat Yard in Marrero in the past. Heard the lowest of things being said about these guys from some pretty "reputable" people. Most of these stories come from the past, but most people knew to steer clear from The Boat Yard. Recently I had a couple of buddies of mine who never did hear anything bad about TBY, and bought their boats with ease. They had no issues what so ever and everything went smooth as possible. Being that TBY is south Louisiana's largest used boat dealer, and possibly one of the largest dealers in the southern gulf states, I found a boat I liked listed online through a various advertising page, and it linked back to being in possession of TBY. The Boat Yard has a huge advertising campaign and definitely can help get the word out if you're selling a boat. I purchased a used boat under consignment from TBY. Of course being an older used boat, it had its issues. Most issues were very minor, and the responsibility of the buyer is to ask as many questions as possible, and go through your own "checklist" of items before making a purchase. If you find the boat you're looking at doesn't pass your inspection, or doesn't meet your requirements on what you're looking for, maybe that boat just isn't for you. I checked out the boat pretty well, everything met my expectations, we did a quick test run of the engine in the test tank, and everything seemed fine, so I signed the final papers and took my new boat home. Being that I live on the water in Lafitte, I was pretty excited about getting her to the boat launch and into my hoist as soon as possible. The engine did not perform like I expected, seemed like a power loss from fuel problems. I did call and explain what was going on with my salesman, and he did say for me to bring the boat back if it continued to have problems. I was kinda upset with The Boat Yard over some missed communications between the sales team and the service team. I was told bad fuel was the problem of this boat, and all fuel had been drained out, well, it wasn't... and I had just pumped in 20 gallons of gas on top of old gas before I realized the tank was full. I did some self diagnostics, as well as have another boat mechanic not related to The Boat Yard come check out the engine. We changed all the filters, changed out the screen in the VST, ran spark and compression test, all seemed fine, but engine would still run like shit. Being the fact that I had purchased this boat from a consignment deal, which means, TBY is only the dealer or "middle man" for this boat, and I had purchased this boat "used - as is", I felt helpless in this situation and felt like I was just stuck with a bad deal. I spoke with the managers over at The Boat Yard and they were very understanding and willing to do whatever they could do to help make things right. I had dropped off my boat Last Friday, They were able to check it out, run computer diagnosis on the engine, order all necessary parts and they had me back together in less than a week, and ready for the boat blessing. Being that they had a large "boneyard" of old used engine parts in the back, they were able to find parts off other engines to get mine running good. (For the ones asking why I'm using used parts to fix my boat... It's a used boat...lol). They did charge me for some labor, but way less than I expected, and less than anywhere else I could've brought it. Buying a boat on consignment means the dealer does not own the boat, or have no obligation to that boat. It's up to the owner on whether they want to fix the issues or come down on pricing. It's up to you (The Buyer) to check out the boat to the best of your ability, hell, bring in a 3rd party inspector if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. Always do a self inspection so you don't end up with a bad deal. Legally, when I signed that contract stating I'm purchasing this used boat as-is, they had no obligation to me. As being the dealer they did want to help out and provide the best customer satisfaction they could. And that's why I'm here writing this review to share my experiences and help clear their name. They've come a long way from what they were in the past. I'd like to say a huge Thank You to the entire crew over at The Boat Yard Inc, Y'all did a wonderful job on handling the situation, Y'all helped me out to make things right this boat and I believe you guys went above and beyond for your customer. Purchased a boat that the boat yard claimed to have 106 hours on the motor. After brining it to my local mechanic to get serviced, the motor has over 560 hours. The hour meter was changed giving false hours. I am not sure if they were aware that the hour meter was changed or not but was told the motor was checked out and everything was good. Local mechanic advised that it appeared nothing was ever changed on the motor. I would suggest to have what you are buying checked by a third party mechanic before buying to get some honest feedback read more

Good selection of boats. Most of the sales guys are real nice, know a good bit, and the place is busy, so there's something new all the time. I was very disappointed, with the service I received at the Boat Yard ./ We had a new salesman, I don't want to say his name b/c we all need to learn from our mistakes to get better at our jobs. I do feel strongly about your salesman need to pick up the phone communicate to tell you the reason why your boat may or may not be in . even if you had to sell me a lie ,at least don't text the excuses. we knew our credit score and we knew from our bank how much we was approved 40k. We was told to still but a down payment down of 500.00 refundable but why? at that point we felt like we was discriminate against. Our first time at The Boat Yard was on 06/30/2018 , we probably communicated over the phone 3 times, but he texted me over 20 times and now thru a text again, the boat we wanted Tracker 2019 150 its in on 07/16/2018 no phone call thru a text. A couple of times we pass over there , we parked on the outside of the business and called our salesman and again we went to voice mail then we received a text that he was busy at that point we took our business else where but over all the boat I love it !! its a Tracker Pro 150 2019 , we got the boat approve in 2 days and pick up the phone on the 4th day at another business. read more

this is the email I sent 4 days after purchase of our boat; Glenn, I need to talk to you or the owner about the boat I purchased last weekend. We took the boat out yesterday for the first time and had a very bad experience. We launched the boat and drove for approximately 45 minutes then it got real difficult to steer as it kept going left and right like a drunk driver, then we noticed water coming up thru the floor and that's when we realized we were taking on more water than the bilge pump could handle. My family was in total panic and in fear of dying because of this. I quickly headed back to the dock and with the help of strangers were able to trailer the boat before it fully sank. We asked Seth if this was a safe boat and he said it was. Myself and my family are very disappointed and still in shock as something more fatal could have happened. I am returning your boat in hopes that you can provide an adequate replacement as I feel that paying for boat that does not float is not in our best safety or interest. Please advise how we can resolve this matter. that was the email I sent four days after it sank.............. when we finally came to get the boat 8 weeks later they had stolen my electronoics ,my batteries other misc. parts. also the boat was covered with grease and oil, and they wanted me to take it like that. it is Nov 12,2018 and they have not replaced any stolen equipment or parts and the finance company AQUA is also not being of any help also. I am a disabled vet that just wanted to get a SAFE family boat and I wasn't trying to cheat anyone the way this outfit has done me. they are now demanding I move my boat after they stole what they needed and I have to pay for a boat that doe not float and is not water ready or have my credit ruined. these people should not be allowed to do business anywhere because they are going to get someone killed from being in their boats. read more
