Has improved lately with a change of chef maybe? Pizzas are great, service is pretty fast...nice place for breakfast or a casual meal.

5/5 stars 18/12/2011…read more There must be something special about his pizza - because boy, this chef sure likes to have fun! He asked me what my major in University was (which was Psychology), and he jokingly replied, "So you've come to analyse me!" He made me smile with that one. And I noticed he jokes around with every customer and co-worker! But seriously, do they know how to make pizzas properly! (Awww...man this dough and meat is fresh and soft, not like the try-hard local stores who end up making it hard to eat!) If you're looking for a delicious and authentic Italian-made pizza with fresh dough and toppings that should be expected in Italian pizza, than you can take Salvatore's Slice of Italy's name, which is a genuine original Italian name, and turn it into "The Freshest and Softest Pizza in Adelaide" - especially after you wash a slice or two down with a couple of cans of soft drinks! The chef was so friendly, when I asked what the gorgeous photos on his wall came from, he told me stories of his trips overseas back home to the beautiful pristine islands of Italy, and all his cousins. He said his uncles from Italy were the ones who taught him how to make pizzas for life. I love immigrants who never forget where they came from, or apply what they learnt in their younger years to run a successful business or job for the rest of their life. Look for the colourful Italian flag colours of green, white and red at the front to guide your way. Anyway - just find this place. You will not be disappointed...There's even some other fascinating shops right next door!

Had such high hopes, but the pizza was somewhat bland; really unfortunate because it came so well…read morerecommended and we were hanging out for a good feed! I guess the ingredients were not that fresh because it is really hard to make a pizza bland! Will try again just in case it was bad timing!

As I have mentioned in other reviews, I hate mainstream Pizza. It is very rare that I find a place,…read moreusing similar techniques to those of Pizza Hut and Dominoes, that I will eat and not have to rinse my mouth with turpentine to banish the rancid flavour. I was SHOCKED when I came across Pizza Patrol. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it is awesome or a culinary hidden gem, but they sure make a good piece of shortening ones life span! They are super cheap (to compete with the big boys) and they have some very creative topping options. The best ones I have come across are the Lamb Yiros, Pepperoni (with extra spicy goodness) and, the Piece De Resistance, the Breakfast Pizza (Egg and Bacon) that is mind blowingly sickening but in the best possible way! Ps. You can also create your own Pizza so remember that everything is better with Anchovies.....Mmmmmmm salty goodness!

Pizza places are a dime a dozen. You have your chains, you have your independents, and your cafes…read more Pizza patrol is an independent, and a damn fine one it is too. I went in thinking I knew what to expect, and I was wrong. I ordered my staple: a BBQ chicken pizza. Normally I'd expect the sauce to be thin, the meat to be sparse and for the meats on top to be bland. Instead I found the sauce to have a nice kick to it, the toppings were plentiful (that was the first thing I noticed when I opened the box) and the meats were nice and spicy. The prices were also more than reasonable. Surprisingly it's the only non Indian restaurant along that group of shops. So if you're in the area and don't feel like Indian tonight, you could do far worse than venture a few shops down for a bit of pizza.

I'm clearly not Italian but I have this thing where I like to pretend I am one of their people…read more Maybe its the anglo-sixth gen Aussie in me that is looking for some cultural substance in her life or the fact their philosophy on life=drinking, eating and..well... It was upon stepping into this modest looking deli with fluro lighting, 50s vinyl chairs and plastic tables, random cooking equipment scattered around and big, black and white pictures of beautiful Italians with "I love Napoli" written on them hanging on the wall that I felt like I had returned to a pizza shop from the mother land. Walk out through the kitchen to toilet at the back of the shop and you might trip on a bag of pizza flour on way but don't worry, the lino floors will protect your fall. Enough about the interior, that doesn't really matter. In traditional fashion, the star of the show is the hand made blackened pizza oven sitting in the middle of the shop serving up damn good WOG Pizza. We thought we'd be modest an just order one 12 inch Frutti di Mare (seafood) and a bottle of wine to share (funnily enough sipped out of those promo wine cups that you collect from various wine events and functions over the years). But after devouring this crispy based, sweet tomato sauce covered, melt in your mouth seafood pizza we decided we couldn't stop at one. The Truff Truff was next - a creamy, cheesy base of truffle oil, cheese, dried mediterranean herbs and more cheese. Forget manners, there's no forks or plates here and the owner really couldn't care less if you came in or not. He does what he loves and I think even if there were no customers in store he would be happy. The girls on the floor are friendly but really, who needs to make small talk when all you want to do is finish off 2 large pizzas in 30 minutes and then roll home?

(But ask for a salad and they'll make you one). Great beers and Italian wines (by the bottle only but you can take the rest home). This wonderful simple and charming little gem serves up fantastic wood oven pizzas and isn't trying to do anything else. Not salty or oily, with a very light airy wood oven crust topped with buffalo Di mozarella, prosciutto or whatever you like from the menu. And randomly in the back streets of Campbelltown (which isn't so bad not being on a main road as thru have a cool outdoor area out the front).
