Didn't go inside the club for the entertainment, but stopped in and ate on the patio for dinner. Given that it is a gentlemen's gentlemen bar, it was actually very classy and comfortable. Beware of the front lady who takes your entrance fee. I asked to change a $100 bill into singles and she gave me this 10 stack of folded $1 bills and after I counted it there was only $56. Pure scam. One of the dancers told me I'm not the first to notice this and she prob pockets the diff. And not to complain otherwise they will kick you out. Just go old school and go to the bank prior to coming here and bring your own wad of bills or just go to Johnson's where it's more reputable and they actually give you the right amount of cash back. I really used to love this place in the 1990s and 2000s, but on returning in June, 2024, I found it to be a shell of its former self, Drinks were good and the BT friendly but the dancers and customers were almost nonexistent on. Friday night at midnight. When one of the few dancers there wanted to do a lap dance, I asked how much. He said $30 to the house for a small room plus $25 per song. So a 8-9 min lap dance would come to over $100. And to top it off, the customer has to pay $30 to the house each time he or she goes into the lap dance area, even if it were another dance with the same dancer. So that may explain why the place is dead. But that's not the worst of it. When a customer didn't want to do a dance, we overheard a dancer tell another dancer "I should put a few bullets into that customer's head". I hoping that was just the way some folks talk but who knows. So I definitely won't ever be back. And I don't recommend the place to anyone! So disappointed that a great bar has fallen by the wayside. read more

I used to come to this establishment a lot but unfortunately my last two visits have confirm that it has lost its shine. I would give zero stars if yelp allowed. Cover is now $10, used to pay $5. Quality of dances is not what it use to be. In fact they should be call 'standers' since all they do is stand, no dancing, no entertaining, no engaging with clients. And IF they do happen to engage with you, it's usually them trying to take you for all your money. I get it, they are they to make a living, and I'm willing to generously tip each and all dancers, but they made no effort to entertain or engage with the crowd. Yet they act entitled as if they are owed your money. One 'dancer' demanded I pay him $100 after he brushed his cock against my thigh. Most of the dancers were busy eating, drinking with the bartenders or crowded around what appeared to be a regular client. Each time I go they seem to have completed some for m of renovation, unfortunately the only thing that needs a reno is the quality and attitude of the current dancers. This last trip has confirm that i should just stick to Johnson's at Wilton manor. The appeal of Boardwalk was that they danced USE TO be more engaging and intimate. Now you're better off going to Johnson's. They dancers there may not be as social, but nor are the current ones at boardwalk. At least Johnson's dancers are entertaining. read more

If he has the option of being nice or mean he will certainly choose the later. The Boardwalk Café was formerly Beefcakes. It is a very pleasant open patio bar located right in front of the Boardwalk which is an all gay male stripper club. As the Boardwalk has new owners everything has or is in the process of being remodeled. The kitchen of Boardwalk Café is new and as such spotlessly clean. The smelly backed up toilets have all been fixed, the décor has been spruced up and the menu completely changed. Though they seem to be ignoring their blackboard menu, not listing any specials and allowing someone to post on it that is incapable of legible writing, their printed menu is really good with some outstanding offerings such as shrimp cocktails, BBQ ribs, chicken tenders, pizza, varying salads and their Boardwalk Café special of Mozzarella Moons ($19). Then such bar food goodies as hot dogs and classic Philly cheesesteaks to dinner delights of grilled salmon, Cajun fish, New York strip and filet mignon ($21). The bartenders here are all pretty good. They know what they are doing. They are professional, polite and give a decent pour to their drinks. For my snack I had their foot long hot dog served with onion and fries. As a hot dog aficionado I was delight with the way they had done the onions and so perfectly coated the dog allowing some of the juices to seep into the roll. I really like the ambiance of Boardwalk Café. For that it is one of the best in the area. But, I can't rate it all that high because the place doesn't even open until around 3:00 or 4:00PM, so you can forget having lunch here. And that even holds true on weekends; hence no Sunday brunch and no more car washes which I really miss as I truly enjoyed watching all those sexy stripper boys wiggling themselves around while clean my car. Sadly as of yet there seems to be no website for the place and overall it Boardwalk Café seems to be a work in progress. read more

Tragic people hate Boardwalk. I've been coming here for years and there have been all kinds of moments. Good ones, great ones, and sure, some sketchy ones - but you know what - they've all been great stories to tell. Do not be a drunk messy fool and you'll love this place. Bartenders are fun and nice (shout out to Felipe and Andres - great guys) and the food is actually fantastic. Come for bites and sit outside and avoid the debauchery inside. Or do that and then go in. Go in and enjoy the drinks and the eye candy. The go-go guys are not your flavor - just wait - they change up as the night goes on. Updating my review exactly 5 years after I posted my last one, and am lowering my rating of Boardwalk yet again to 2 stars for "Meh. I've experienced better." Note that this review should not reflect badly on the adjacent "Beefcakes Grill" that's also in this same building, as that restaurant gets 4 stars from me, see separate review. We came here to Boardwalk on a Saturday night at around 12:30 am, paid the $10 cover and went inside. There were a few handfuls of customers but we found a few open stools at the bar just in front of the main stage. We looked around, and none of the dancers/performers were particularly attractive on this night. One of them came over to us after we'd been there for a while to ask if we wanted a private dance. He was non-athletic, out of shape and wearing pink briefs (not sexy fitting briefs, either..The ones that are saggy in the ass like your dad may have worn) and some kind of bedroom slippers on his feet. No thanks! The 2nd dancer they put on the main stage continuously yawned the entire time he was "performing" and at one point covered his face with his hands and started rubbing his eyes. And he was supposedly dancing for tips? Sorry, are we keeping you awake?? Shortly after, they featured a drag queen on the main stage and she was quite good! Actually, many more people went up to tip her than had tipped any of the dancers; I think that says something (not in a good way) about the "talent" this place is hiring. Once the drag number was over, they called one of the dancers back to the main stage. He didn't appear after 3 calls. They tried another name, then another, then another. Finally I think the 4th guy they called went up to dance. At that point, which was about 20 minutes after we'd arrived, the dancers started back through their rotation again, meaning the same dancers were on the main stage and the 2 smaller stages at the far ends of the place as were there when we arrived. Again, that's sad. At other clubs that feature strippers or dancers, usually they have enough guys working that you can go at least an hour before you start to see the same "models" on stage again. We went to use the ATM only to find that the machine here charges a $10 service fee to get cash, over and above what your bank will charge you, which is ludicrous. At most places it's $3 or $4 at most. After we finished our second beer we were bored of the dancers, a few of them approached us and were really pushy trying to get us to go with them for private dances, even after we'd politely grinned and said no to them a few times. At that point we were more into watching the sports recaps on the TV behind the bar than watching what Boardwalk was offering on stage, so we left. read more

The bartender offers to replace it, I ask who she is and he repeats his question aggressively. I later find her on the arm of the manager who was seemingly nice. Any of my complaints or questions were meet with 0 responses from the bartenders. At this point i felt unwelcomed and decided to leave. Boardwalk charges a $10 surcharge at their in house ATM machine. That is incredible they are allowed to get away with it! When you try to pay for certain services at their bar with a card they will tell you "we don't accept card however we have an ATM machine" in order to encourage you to use their on site ATM, since they feel as if once you are there they got you hooked, so therefore they can overcharge you with an absurd and outrageous $10 fee. I been going to clubs and bars my entire life and I never encountered a place which overcharges such a high surcharge at their ATM. read more

I always drive by this place on my way to work, and finally decided to stop in to the outside bar (apparently called Gus's Cafe) for dinner. Holy moly! I had one of the BEST burgers I have ever had (and I lived in Philly - foodie land... I am tough to please). The other people at the bar and staff were so nice and welcoming... As a woman, sometimes that isn't easy to find in Wilton Manors. The bartender told me the inside bar was opening soon, so I called two of my girlfriends to come over. The DJ played some super fun throwbacks that night and had us dancing and talking with other guests for hours. I'll definitely be back this week... and may even plan to celebrate my birthday here. 100% recommend to anyone and everyone.
