We have had a phenomenal experience with Potter's Obsession. Did a Facebook message to inquire…read moreabout times and to set up a birthday party...had a response within minutes. It was that easy. The tables and chairs were already prepared for us when the party showed up. I believe everybody and their dog decided to come at the same time that we arrived. It was a little chaotic, but the owner and her staff handled it very well and was able to accommodate everybody. Our birthday party had 5 10-year-old girls and myself. The girls looked through all of the different ceramics and chose what piece they wanted to glaze. We looked at the color chart, wrote down the numbers of the colors that we wanted, and the staff got everything ready for us. The glaze goes on light. The more layers that you glaze the darker it will be when it is put through the kiln. It took us about 90 minutes to finish. The pieces range $5-25. There is also a $7 fee (paint and kiln) per person. Our pieces will be left there for a week and then they will be packaged up for us. To make the experience that much more special for the birthday girl, they are able to put their handprint up on their wall along with their name and age. Choices to glaze: Bowls, mugs, plates, animals, banks, sports, holiday ornaments, lighted signs, vases, calavera, etc.

My experience with Amanda was less than satisfying…read more The amount of emails "confirming" date, time & amount of people who would be attending was a total turn off. Might I suggest a deposit when booking and a "no show" or "cancellation" fee if there is a last minute cancellation? Upon arrival Amanda was level 10 stress. I don't think she was breathing at all during set up. I had a confirmed 15 people to paint & GREAT set up in a garage for my party. Amanda didn't like the idea of someone having their back to her during presentation so she tried to get rid of my 15th spot. No worries though, she wanted me to PAY for 15 but only wanted to allow me to set up for 14. She must have forgotten that she was at MY house & I was a paying customer also, this made her joke about "this was her only job so thanks for paying rent" incredibly awkward. Amanda is very dry which comes off rude. Don't expect a smile or a warm fuzzy feeling from her - it's not going to happen. Also don't you dare talk while painting or you'll get "All eyes on me" as if you were a 1st grader. I was embarrassed by my choice of entertainment for my evening. Paint and wine should be fun. It's hard to have fun when you feel as if you're being scolded for any move you make that amanda didn't like. I'm rating a 3 because we did do a painting and what she came to do did get accomplished. I would also like to add - if you have a great attitude, were little more flexible & had your customers pay at the end of the evening.... you might get a cash tip instead of a written online review

Another person posted a review said she "felt like she was in kindergarten". That is a good way to describe our evening. We were told over and over how to behave. IN NO WAY WERE WE OUT OF LINE WITH OUR BEHAVIOR. We were 14 women there just to have fun. She gave great instructions on the painting technique and came well prepared. It's too bad that she didn't lighten up and enjoy herself. My rating would have been a lot higher.

These are interactive ornaments that when plugged in to the special cord will sing a song and have dialogue. When we gave them to her Jack did not work properly as the speaker was extremely distorted. Amy's did take the return of Jack but could not Replace him as they were sold out. (These seem to be very popular items). So we still had Sally and she would sing her song, but we were missing the interactive exchange. Fast forward to this year. We purchased Jack, to replace the one from last year, and Oggie Boogie. We plugged in Jack and he immediately greeted us with a "Merry Christmas". Plugged in Sally to listen to them sing together, and nothing. This was a little frustrating. I did contact Hallmark through chat and they would not help me out and suggested I call the store. I did call Amy's Hallmark on Collins Road. The person I spoke with was very pleasant and did not have an immediate answer but listened to the situation and asked for me to call back the next business day to speak with the manager. When I called back the next day the same employee answered the phone and remembered the conversation and had already briefed her manager. They did try to troubleshoot over the phone and asked if I would be willing to bring all the ornaments and the cord into the store so they could see exactly what was happening. When I arrived I was assisted by the same person who had been so empathetic and patient on the phone. The had the last Sally ornament pulled aside to test with a brand new cord. We were able to get all three ornaments interacting and she sent me home with the working Sally ornament and a new cord. This was above and beyond my expectations. The employee was awesome and willing to work with me. Thank you for service minded approach and for making it a "Nightmare Before Christmas" Christmas.

I brought my machine in for annual maintenance. I was told it would take about two weeks,…read morealthough the receipt PROMISED the maintenance by 7/21/25. At three weeks I called for a status check. I was told it would be "just a little bit longer". On 7/21/25 I called and was told my machine had not been worked on yet. I was told it would be "a little bit longer". I asked for a specific date and was told there wasn't one. I asked what the promised date on my receipt meant and was not given an answer. my point on this post is business practice and customer service. DONT say something will be done in two weeks when you know it won'T. DONT a give the "just a little bit longer" line. it just makes people angry. DONT promise, in writing, a date when a service will be completed and there is no intention to have the work done. DO contact the customer before the promised completion date and let them know the service will not be completed on time and throw in a discount or freebie. (I.e. keep your customers). Set your employees up for success by not making them engage in making up excuses for poor service. I finally got my machine back and what do you know? the promise date was changed on the receipt. Customers aren't that stupid! Do better in your business, Inspired to Sew!

I signed up for a class a few weeks ago, and was uninformed that there would be a list of materials…read moreI needed to purchase before the class. The class was $50, and I was sent the list of materials in an email 3 minutes before the start of the class, so I had to purchase $60 worth of materials upon arrival. Which felt intentional, so I would have to buy from their store specifically and miss out on cheaper alternatives. The sewing pattern they were teaching in the class was also not included in the price so I had to purchase that myself as well. I will say that the workers in the store were nice, however their website and employees have lacked transparency of prices and organizational skills. Furthermore, prices were not included on the website for a sewing machine maintenance and check-up. When I called the store, I was told the price would only be $30-40 dollars, and then extra if a part was missing and had to be purchased. When I turned in my sewing machine for this service, I payed $30 and based on the information I received, believed that to be the end of it. Today when I went to pick it up, the workers tried to charge me $100 for it. I tried arguing and brought up how I had already paid... they told me that was "a deposit" and then took it off, although they would have charged me twice if I had not brought that up. My total for this machine repair was over $100, even though I had been told originally it would be $30 on the phone. Furthermore, no part or fix had to be made on my machine. It was cleaned and a screw was adjusted and I was still charged $70 more than I had been told. Their website lacks this information so the fact prices and materials have been left up to "word of mouth" has cost me $217 when I was only expecting to pay around $80. My review would just be to be cautious about undisclosed information and extra prices. I feel taken advantage of based on being expected to pay extra when correct information was not given to me. Both on the accounts of taking a class as well as getting my machine looked at. Also I was told when I purchased the pattern for the class I would get sent it but it's been 3 weeks and I still haven't received it.
