The pottery and paint selection is fine for the most part, but they don't have any of the sponge…read morestamps that they used to have when I went there several years ago. The stencils and stamps the did have left were very old and didn't work. Also, the employees just seem really absent minded and not knowledgeable or interested. And whatever you do don't forget to take a picture of your art work before you go. If you don't, they will have no way to figure out if it's finished. They won't call to tell you it is finished. And if you don't go get it within 30 days it will be destroyed. Their system is very archaic and dysfunctional. They don't tell you that you have to take a picture, you're somehow just supposed to know this. Also, expect to spend at least $75-$100, which I think is very over priced. Just go somewhere else instead.

There are great inspiration pieces all around the shop and they usually have seasonal items out. You paint your item, they fire it for you, and you come back in a few days to pick it up. I believe you can also use their clay and make your own items as well! For the pre-made ceramics you paint, you pay one cost for the items and that includes the paint and firing. If you don't finish a piece in one sitting, you can bubble wrap it, take it home, and bring it back to finish another day! Feel free to bring your own food and drink!

For being a place for creative oulets, you'd think they'd pick a more creative name than....The Art…read morePlace. But honestly I don't blame them. I think this place has been around since forever, right behind the Mountain View Library. They offer painting, sketching, clay, theatre, and music classes; I tend to find that it's more theatrics than actual drawing classes offered. I've stayed away from acting and music, but they have productions and dinner&shows every season for the public to go to, at $5-$15 per show. The classes are great- but it really depends on your class, really. I've only taken painting, portraiture, and clay, and clay was the worst of them all. Enjoyable? Yes. Would I do it again? No. I don't even remember the instructor's name. My only quip is that for each class, the fees never seem to end. Registration (late or early), actual class fees, baking fees, and oh, the -supplies-! The supplies list never ends, I swear. For pencil portraiture, I thought you bring a pencil and eraser, and a pad. False, it's like 20 different types of pencils, graphite, special erasers left and right, specially bound pads, tissue paper, paper stubs, special ink pens and tips, and oh my god, these things cost a fortune! I just want to draw! Ahem, anyway, the painting guy was ok, but the star of the show is Kip Rogers- after all these years (it's been like 10), I still remember how well he taught his classes and I want to go back, even if this place is about a solid 45 minute drive from where I live now. His class is 95 for first timers and 70 for returners. At that price, it's a freaking steal! (Well, at least for that class....) The Art Place is a special place to me- back when I still drew all over the place, I had been able to be part of some of the shows there, and I appreciated that. You could always walk in and see art from the locals. After all these years, the many of the artists teaching there are still there. Now on to convincing the boyfriend to take these classes with me....

Very cute concept! I…read moretook my daughter as a guest for three year olds birthday party and she had a great time. We were in the art area where the kids had an instructional paint along on a canvas, other arts and crafts, coloring, and my daughter's personal favorite, coloring on the glass. The staff was very patient and friendly with the children. The other room where we ate had a private bathroom for party guests which is a definite plus for a kiddie party. There appeared to be other rooms with jumpers and there was a class of some sort in the space that looked like the larger space. My only gripe was the bathroom in the main area wasn't the cleanest and from what I over heard the private bathroom needed some work before we got in there (NOTE: See note from the owner, I heard only half and assumed wrong). I'm not sure what time they start parties or classes, but I got there at 11:45a and the trash was near overflow level and could've used a light scrub. That said, I wouldn't mind having my daughter's 3rd birthday there.

My company had a team bonding event at Sipping Plant so I was able to check it out at the newest location in Kennesaw. Before starting, everyone should arrive early to sign a waiver and show ID. The class is for everyone even though you may be with your different groups. Everyone gets to choose whether or not they want to do 1 large or 2 medium or 2 small. I chose 1 large. Once everyone gets their bowl(s), we all sit with our groups for further instructions. Depending on the size of our bowls, we are instructed how to fill gravel and soil. Afterwards, we choose plants. We could choose 1 large and 1 small or 3 small. I chose 3 small. Further instruction is given when we decide on which plants want. Then we're off to making our bowl(s) as creative as we want. Overall, it is at the hour mark. The host gladly would take photos of your group if you want. She continued to give instructions how to take are of our plants. I did like the experience. I have my bowl by the window. 146/2019
