A lifesaver! You…read morewouldn't think such a bougie area would have a dollar store, correct? You would be wrong! I have recently spent a lot of time in this area, looking for decorations for things like bachelorettes and 90th birthday parties. Surprisingly, my go-to Claire's didn't cater well to the 90th grandfather birthday party look I was going for. Prior to a reservation at Gibby's, I got off the train and used Yelp to find this local one-off dollar store that was within walking distance. Perfection. Within moments, I found a few blue garlands that sparkled and really dressed up out table area. I also picked out a few sparkles that said "9" and "0" on them and they added whimsy to the evening when the birthday cake arrived. As for the rest of the selection, there seemed to be everything from garden ware to ALL KINDS of decorations. Note: It's not too easy to find! This store is in the basement on the building so enter near V Files and use the escalator down. You'll find it right down there!

I just bought two AC plugs adapters to be used in Europe for less that two dollars each...at The Source I would have to shell out about 10 bucks for each. They have friendly service and the people at the cashier do know where most of things are, so customers do not end up roaming all around looking for an Item.

This is the ultimate store for the most obscure items you might ever need! They have supplies for…read moreevery occasion at the fraction of the price you'd pay at Walmart or Amazon. School supplies, bachelorette party, baby shower, engagement party, house party, BBQs, Christmas decorations, home improvement, cleaning supplies, car accessories, baking and cooking supplies, knitting, sowing, craft and art supplies, and so much more. One of the things that sets them apart from other dollarstore's is their large collection of balloons and their ability to blow them up with helium. Each helium balloon costs $0.50, you can call ahead to have them blown up and just come pick them up. On weekends there is usually a line up for the helium so if you need a lot of balloons best to call ahead. You can buy your own balloons elsewhere but if a balloon pops while it's being filled with helium, Forêt will not replace it so best to purchase their balloons. Forêt guarantees that their balloons are helium certified. Forêt is also a family run business. The owners speak English and French. A review below mentioned that personnel didn't speak English but I've been coming here for years and never had a problem. The store is very busy, the best way to get service is ask at the cash which isle a specific item is located in. Forêt is such a gem, the south shore is lucky to have it!

My family and I support this local dollar store, I grew up buying all my school supplies there. Hope it will continue to last more years. What I like the most about this store is the crafting area. Don't hesitate to ask if they still have some items in the backstore.

Imagine Winners or TJ Maxx on steroids and that will give you a vague idea of what you might find hunting through the racks here. They sell just about a bit of everything and then some and like Winners, you'll have no idea of what you'll find in the racks unless you take your sweet time to look. A friend of mine found an Alexander Wang coat which normally goes for $600, she found it here brand new for $20. I saw leather shoes from Portuguese cult brand Clamp for $60. Normally they're sold at well over $300 at special boutiques in Quebec City. On my first visit I walked away with a pair of Memphisto athletic sandals which are normally $150, I got them here for $40. I also got a pair of Clamp sock-lug soled boots for $50 and a Ralph Lauren waterfall maxi skirt for $15. You know Moose Knuckles? That winter coat company that's trying to outdo Canada Goose and sells their winter jackets for almost $1000? They have a secondary line called "Biannual" and normally those puffer winter coats go for $475. I saw them here for $80. More people need to know about this place. There some designer brands like DEX, Yoga Jeans, Joseph Ribkoff, and all these labels from Italy, Portugal and Spain which I never heard of but the quality of the clothes here were clearly very high. Location-wise, it's in the middle of the industrial wasteland of the Cote de Liesse area but it is literally across the street from IKEA. If you don't have a car, the 202 bus drops you off pretty close. If you have no patience looking through racks and expect to find your holy grail item instantly, forget it, that's not going to happen. If on the other hand you come in with the attitude of a treasure hunter and take your time looking through, I think you might be surprised at what you might walk away with.
