We had someone else come out and tell us "Well...you're 13 years into a 15 year roof and you're about due". They didn't even go up on the roof. Well we panicked as it wasn't a good time financially (is it ever?) for a large repair. I submitted an online request for a free estimate from Dick's Roof Repair late yesterday afternoon. Dick Pignotti came out within 24 hours and actually got up on the roof and inspected it. He told me that it wasn't that bad yet and we had another (approx) 2-5 years on it. He gave me tips and suggestions to correct any potential issues that may be causing the extra wear in some spots. I asked what it would cost to replace it, when it comes due as we will need to save for it. He gave me a rough estimate that was so very fair and feasible for us to save for when needed. I couldn't be happier. I asked for his card AND am doing this review so that I make sure that he is the one I call for any and all of our future roofing, siding, windows and gutter needs. I'm not doing a commercial....well I guess I was doing a commercial. But he deserves it! A big stress relief happened in just a short visit! I'll be using Dicks Roof Repair and only them....and so should you!

Recently had some wind damage. Took several tries to get in touch with them. Finally set up an appointment for an estimate...they missed it. Set up another one...they missed it. Got a quote and appointment for the repairs over text...they missed it AGAIN. Yes, that's 3 missed appointments that were set up at their convenience without even a call. Don't waste your time! Plenty of other companies in our area that do the same thing with much better service.

Our house is 800sq feet. We were displaced the entire time. ( thank God for friend and family) Yes we ran into some issues which was part of the delay. But there were weeks where No one was at the house working. You could never get a straight answer from Mike. He was very angry and unprochable when questioned regarding timeline or problems with quality. Our roof was open ( big hole) that was covered with a blue tarp( that my 65 year old husband had to reattach every time we had a big storm) all 10 months. Every time asked when that would be closed. He would give a day and time, then not show. The kitchen had a space for a dishwasher but it was never installed. A garbage disposal installed with no way to turn it on. The list goes on. We finally had to hire a lawyer to cancel our contract with VDB so we could get another contractor to clean up the mess. So please DO NOT hire VDB. I don't want our nightmare to become anyone else's.

The end result is amazing, high quality workmanship, incorporating our "interactive" change requests along the way, providing a space that really meets all our expectations. The VDB team does what they say they will do and takes a genuine interest in their clients. By the way, did I mention there was no surprise to the budget... I highly recommend VDB.

While they were not the least expensive, I selected them after reviewing the job with Christo, the owner. He was very knowledgeable and was straight forward regarding the extent of possible issues that may be uncover when the shingles are removed from such an older building (1929). Christo has an extensive portfolio of quality materials to choose from and his suggestions really helped steer me towards the best possible outcome. The work began very shortly after the paperwork was completed and even after finding that the original roof had 3 layers of failed shingles in some areas, had extensive wood rot at the decking, fascia and soffit areas, needed replacement roof ventilation and also required additional work to remove an old school TV antenna... the roof was completed beautifully and ahead of schedule! Communication was on-going and professional throughout the entire job. The clean up was meticulous and complete. Gutters and downspouts were installed a few days later and the house really looks great! I can 100% recommend 1st Choice Roofing... and have already passed their contact information on to both family and friends.
