I initially contacted "Airdrie Garage Door Repair" for a quote to repair the broken spring on my double garage door and was quoted a price of $240.00 (rec'd the same quote for the repair "twice" when I called for an update of the Technician's arrival.) Finally, after waiting all day a Technician (from B&W Garage Door Specialist of Calgary) arrived and said my original quote was not accurate and that the price for spring repair was now $420.00 (180.00 more). When questioned about the price difference the B&W Technician became angry and ignorant and screamed his response "that his price was the correct price." I did get an addition quote from another Airdrie company during the B & W service call and I agreed to pay $350.00 (I just wanted to get the Job done because it was so late in the day) to the B&W Technician because of the 1 year warranty he insisted there was from B&W. When I went to use the garage door the next day I noted that the garage door opener chain had sagged 5 ¾ inches and, was warned by another service company "not to adjust the chain myself for fear of injury" and said he would come out and adjust the springs correctly thus fixing the chain sagging issue at an additional cost (when he replaces both springs on a double garage door no chain adjustments are required). I did contact B&W prior to hiring another Technician to repair the chain however, my calls were ignored, and the Tech would not call me back (so much for the 1 year warranty). I noted that the B&W Technician appeared to be in a hurry when at my residence and could care less about the quality of the work he did otherwise the chain issue would have been resolved before he left. read more
