These guys are a rip off! I hate even giving them one star! The guy came to our house ( late by two hours) took a quick look and quoted me $480.00. He had a small handful of parts in his hand and was done the job in 20 minutes. When he was done he said that I would receive a work order which would be emailed to me. Still waiting for it. I would caution you to use this company and do your diligence to get a second quote. Because, we were in a rush to get to a appointment I did not have much time to argue with him. When you think most people are honest and get ripped off because you are in a predicament ticks me off! I threw away their label and will never use them again. read more

I would put 0 starts if I could, they came to replace a broken spring. As we had snow in the ground when he backed up with his car, he destroyed my outdoor lighting with the truck. When I confronted him, I showed the Video to him and his boss, they say they wanted to try fixing it, which they never did. Got a quote over the phone for about $200 to fix a cable that snapped. Had the tech come out who had NO MASK on during a pandemic, and he did not seem interested to get one when asked. Then the tech went into the garage, hardly looked at anything and said that he cannot fix the cables because the system is too old and the whole system needs to be replaced for $800. He said that he does not even have parts to fix the cable and that it was not an option for us, which was odd as that was the whole reason why we called him there? He gave us 2 choices, which was to replace the whole door for $2100 or pay $800 for a new system. I requested a formal quote and gave the tech my email address and unfortunately the company never bothered to send the quote, so I guess they were not interested. Instead, I called a different garage door company and the tech fixed the cables in an hour and recommended for the door to be replaced within a few years (and that it was not urgent). Told him about the situation with Precision, and he agreed they were not being honest with me at all. Very unimpressed by the customer service on both the intake caller and the technician, lack of respect of not wearing masks during a pandemic when going into someone's home, and the dishonesty on the work as they wanted to upsell us as much as they could without really taking look at the issue. read more

The technician replaced two torque springs. He proudly told me he tightened everything on the door but that it was an old door and a lot of things would need to be replaced at some point. The door never squeaked before but after he left it squeaked horribly. I was sure it was going to break. I called him to come back which he did quite promptly. I was out but my wife met with him. He was quite short with her saying "I told your husband it was an old door". He fiddled for a while and said he did what he could and left. No improvement. A week later the door would only open half way. A roller had come out of the track. I had pointed out this roller on the first call. I called another company who came and fixed things properly, including adjusting the new springs which were installed too tight. He replaced the roller and another one, tightened several things (I was with him at the time), and applied some lube. Now the door runs smoothly and quietly. Precision charged me over $500 but didn't do the job properly even though the technician came a second time. I would not recommend them. read more

This is the third time I am contacting you to SEND ME THE INVOICE PAID FOR GARAGE DOOR ON jULY 5TH, 2019. This was $399.00 and WE NEED THE INVOICE WITH DETAILS. We were not home when dad had this done, maybe we would have checked on the reliability of Precision Garage. We should not have paid you until a BUSINESS LIKE INVOICE was given us. The owner Roy is very vague with his pricing. He quoted me $185 for garage torsion springs and $95 labour. He performed the work and then charged me $185 each for the 2 torsion springs. That was $370 in parts for two torsion springs + $95 labour for a total of $465 + tax. which is more than double. He refused to change his prices. Do not ever, ever, ever use this business. I ended up calling three other garage door installers and they all quoted around the $250 range for the same parts and service. I was ripped off badly. Do not give Precision Garage Doors and this man anymore business ever!!!! read more

I was in a jam needing my door fixed. The guy was late and my door was stuck open so I didn't have any other option but to have him fix my door for $325! I should have spoken up when he said "is that ok?". No parts, in and out in under 30 minutes! Then they wouldn't give me any explanation as to how they came up with the charge. Totally ghosted. One of our garage torsion springs broke. The garage door shaft was bent in the process. We called up Precision garage doors for an estimate and they were very honest and fair. The technician arrived on time as scheduled and was very professional. He didn't try to upsell us or add anything extra to the estimate, which I really appreciated. The garage was up and working within 30 mins - hot to mention he guaranteed the springs for 3-years. Will definitely call him up again should it be needed. read more

We were very pleased with the technician Dominic. We needed a garage door fixed. He came when he said he would and was diligent in getting the door fixed for us. The only reason the company did not receive a 5 out of 5 is due to their parts pricing. The cost for the spring and the cable was 4 times what it would cost at Rona. These guys are criminals. They advertise $29 repairs, which is bogus. I called them for an estimate to replace my garage door springs. They showed up, and quoted me $185/spring and $100 for labor or about $500 all in with taxes. When I decline their offer, the guy told me he hopes I get hit in the head trying to torque my own springs and demanded I pay him $30. I refused to pay him and asked that he leave. He then called his boss, they had a heated discussion in a language I didn't understand, while refusing to leave my home. He eventually left, but not before giving me a lecture about how business works. I later found another company to give me an estimate and had the job completed for $200. The man who came out told me that the cost for the springs is $25 each. I'm all for people getting fair compensation for an honest 20 minutes of work (which is how long the job took), but there's no way I'll pay someone $30 to come to my home, attempt to rip me off, and then lecture and attempt to intimidate me on the way out! I called Okotoks Garage Repair which they hire out Precision Garage doors to do their repair. Quick response and were able to come and fix the door the next day. Had a spring break. I had set up a time between 12Pm and 2Pm. It was about 1:45PM when I called them and asked where they were. I did receive a call from the repair guy to tell me he would be late. At first he said 3:30pm then called back again and said 4pm. Finally showed up. Was polite to my wife and replaced both springs. However the problem I have after all of that was that the tech stated there was a gap at the bottom of the garage door on the left side. We have had this issue with Ice forming and he said it was that my garage wasn't level. If he would have chipped the ice away or asked my wife to chip it away, which took me literally 10 seconds to do we would not have an unleveled garage door right now. I called Precision Garage Doors and asked them to come back and fix the door and they said they would charge me $30.00. I told them that wasn't acceptable. When I ask for a job and pay over $500 dollars for a repair I expect it to be done correctly. Now I've been given the run around and no one is calling me back. The other issue I think was that they asked for $30.00 because I live in Okotoks. If you are going to service Calgary and surrounding areas and list Okotoks as one of those area's I think you should probably drive there with no extra charges or frustration that you have to drive 20 minutes south of Calgary. And for Okotoks Garage repair maybe you should use a local service then someone based out of Calgary. I will be using someone different on our next Garage adventure. read more
