Do not use these guys!…read more My 85 yr old widowed mother took her '91 Honda Civic to Cooper Bros. in Edmonton for an exhaust repair. I had the car inspected at Midas earlier and we determined it needed to have the rusted exhaust system replaced from the tailpipe to the catalytic converter (mid car). My mother insisted Cooper Bros. do the work because they had previously done some minor work for her. I gave my mother (who is extremely sharp) explicit instructions to tell them to replace the damaged exhaust system - not just the muffler and tailpipe. After looking at it, Cooper Bros said they would fix it. They did not - they only replaced the muffler and tailpipe leaving the rusted middle section of pipe untouched! The manager, Jeff, later admitted they weren't equipped to replace that section of pipe. They charged my 85 yr old mother $628.95 for the muffler and tailpipe. I brought the car to Action Muffler yesterday to find out about replacing that remaining rusted section and they told me they would have charged about $350 for the muffler and tailpipe! Cooper Bros. overcharged her about $280!! While my 85 yr old mother was waiting for the initial exhaust work at Cooper Bros, manager Jeff convinced her to replace her timing belt. He did this while knowing the car had low kms (130k), she rarely drove it (about 100km/year), and would not be driving much longer. Note that Cooper Bros. had inspected her timing belt less than a year earlier and told her she didn't need one. Unknown to me, my frail mother booked an appointment and was charged another $1076.67 for this unnecessary labour-intensive job. They also left an important head cover nut off which I had to source and replace! Cooper Bros. took advantage of an 85 yr old elderly widow by telling her they could do an exhaust job they knew they couldn't do and then convincing her to replace the expensive timing belt. In total, she paid $1705.62 for repairs to a car that wasn't even worth that much! My mother gets about $20k a year in pensions, lives in a senior's home, and couldn't afford this. Jeff and Cooper Bros. saw an opportunity to take advantage of her and they did. They are dishonest and shameful!

I brought my vehicle to Dot's for a transmission replacement early July 2024…read more They didn't start working on it until mid August. After I finally got it back I noticed it was leaking oil , which it had not done prior to being at Dot's. They said it had nothing to do with the transmission replacement and they would not fix the leak. I took it to my regular mechanic to check everything else out. They completely cleaned the engine and replaced everything that it could possibly be leaking from and it still leaks from the transmission. Dot's still will not acknowlege that the leak is from inside the transmission, that cost me $7000. They also had 3 different receptionist in the 6 weeks that I had to deal with them. I do not recommend Dot's.

Also, they have serviced our boat for a number of years and nothing but good things to say there too. Their customer service can't be beat!

I had been to this location before with no issues, however Jan 19, 2026 was a very different experience. After my service appointment, I had another appointment to get to. While driving my brake pedal felt different, it went lower to the floor to brake and there was a clicking noise - both issues were not there before my service appointment. After my appointment I checked my brake fluid, to see if it had leaked. It was still at the max line and was still dirty.I called the Shop and explained my concerns and they said come by before they close. A fella took my suv and looked it over and came back and said it was fine. Again I expressed my concern and that the pedal didn't feel right, but they were not interested in checking further. The fella at the shop said that the problem probably was the brake master cylinder and power brake booster. He quoted me about $1,400 plus to fix that. I left and went home, worried. Jan 20 l sent an email to the Shop explaining again that things didn't seem normal, and the fluid still looked dirty. That I wondered if there was air was in the brake system. I asked for them to check my suv again. No one replied with a solution.Brakes are important and having the system operate correctly is important for safety. I made an appointment at another shop. They took my suv for a test drive, came back and agreed something was not operating correctly. They showed me the brake fluid they pulled out and how dirty it was, while performing the service and fixed things so they were operating as they should. The $1,400 repair 1 was quoted was not the issue! Jan 28 | emailed 7eighty again and told them I had to go else where to have my suv fixed and new brake fluid added. I had asked for a refund on the brake flush. Asking for a refund I do not think is unreasonable, it's the least they could do. Again after 24 hours I got no response.1 am so upset and frustrated that 7eighty did not do their due diligence in making sure their work was done properly and was SAFE! I feel I have done the right things by telling them my concerns, giving them time to recheck their work and make things right. I would NOT recommend going to 7eighty for service. They do not seem to take the safety of their customers seriously. They lack respect, pride and integrity in the work they perform for customers. BEWARE TAKING YOUR CAR HERE.
