Sherman Oaks Exclusive Car Repair 4601 Van Nuys Boulevard,…read moreSherman Oaks, California 91403. Telephone 818 986 1130. I took my Tesla Model S into Sherman Oaks Exclusive because I had a message on my dash dashboard that said "adaptive ride control unavailable". They claim to be Tesla experts. I left my car there for a few hours. When I came back, they told me that I needed the right front strut replaced as it was defective and that I should also replace the left one as when one strut is defective the other one will soon go bad and quoted me an excessive $7,000.00 After looking quite shocked and questioning the price, the service advisor Geo Fuerte told me that he could use aftermarket parts and that would cost me in the order of $4,000.00 I was shocked and took the car back. I took my car into Tesla repar in Santa Monica. Tesla kept the car for a couple of hours and repaired the car completely for $270.00. There was nothing defective with the struts. I'm shocked that these people, when I asked them why their labor was so high, which was about nineteen hundred dollars, they said they charge per job, not per hour which I don't believe is correct. I would not suggest any people going to their business to have any car repaired. I think they are dishonest or just don't know what they're doing

I called about ten places before deciding where to go and I hate to say that I based my decision entirely on one guy being nice... but that's mostly what I did. When I dropped my car off I met Arthur (owner?)... same. Can we get back to my car? My car (2019 Audi Q5) suddenly lost a lot of power while I was driving home (but still 30 miles away) so I was able to get it back home but had no clue as to why it was kind of doggin' it and I couldn't go more that 50 mph on freeway and between warning lights and the general understanding of how much car repair costs, I figured this could be $300 to $2000. Matt tells me they want to do a "smoke test"... $150 so I'm thinking, OK, smoke test then $1,000 to repair whatever issue they find. Nope. Smoke test showed a part adjacent to the turbocharger was loose so they tightened it up. Who gets out of a car repair shop for $150? Anyway... this isn't a HUGE shop with 8 bay and 12 mechanics but it's your reliable corner mechanic that has nice people, transparent communications and a clean shop. And it's the only place I'm going for the foreseeable future.

From the moment I walked in, I immediately felt welcomed and at ease. They took the time to listen to my concerns, understand what I was looking for, and explain my options without ever making me feel pressured. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, patient, and honest. They clearly explained what needed to be done, what didn't need to be done, and worked with me based on what I actually wanted for my car. At no point did I feel pressured, upsold, or taken advantage of. Everything was very reasonable, and more importantly, I genuinely felt like I could trust what they were telling me. A very special thank you to John. His demeanor and presence made such a difference in the entire experience. He was kind, calm, reassuring, and made what could have been another stressful part of an already upsetting situation feel completely manageable. I truly felt like he understood that I had just been through an accident and treated me with compassion rather than simply treating my car as another repair job. They were able to take care of my car the same day, and I left feeling incredibly grateful that I found them. It is rare to walk into an auto repair shop as a new customer and immediately feel this level of trust and comfort. Sherman Oaks Collision Center has absolutely earned my future business, and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for an honest, trustworthy, and genuinely caring collision center.
