Opa! If you're craving a trip to the Greek islands, head straight to Bluto's on Belmont. It brought back amazing memories of eating souvlaki, hummus, and fresh pita every single day while traveling abroad. You can taste the open-fire grilling in every bite--it's 100% authentic and exceptionally priced. With tons of menu options and a great drink list featuring wine, beer, and cocktails, it's a must-visit. Get there early to beat the inevitable line out the door, and enjoy the sidewalk seating while you eat!
Was excited to finally get to try this place out and it did NOT disappoint. It looks a bit small from the outside but the inside is quite large and there was plenty of outside seating. The staff was very friendly and took their time with me as I navigated through the menu. The meats were delicious but the surprising star was the Shrimp! SO GOOD!! And it's like a marinara type sauce on it and it complimented it really well. I'd have to say my favorite thing though was the wedge salad. That ranchziki sauce is no joke and was so tasty. The hummus was okay, I'm picky since I come from a family that makes the good stuff lol but I would still recommend getting it! Overall I will be back!
Adorable little spot, very clean and cute decor. Service was kind and quick, and the food was amazing and fresh. Having the wood grill right behind the counter was a nice touch!
Decided to stop in on a rainy afternoon to have a snack. I was hoping to get a little Mezza platter a little sampling of perhaps hummus, their housemate pita and some falafel balls but they don't offer such things. And since I didn't want to order half the menu I just went for the falafel balls and the halloumi fries. Again I think it's bizarre that they don't offer a little sampler platter for you to try a few things. But I digress. The falafel balls were hard as rocks. They were fried too much and they weren't anything special. The fries were also nothing special the least they could've done was actually melt the cheese on the fries to make them gooey but they didn't even do that. The service was wonderful. And I did enjoy having the kitchen in the middle of the restaurant so you can watch some cooking your food. However the food here was not worth coming back for. I'm starting to realize a lot of people in Portland don't have sophisticated pallets they're probably the same people who think McDonald's serves gourmet cheeseburgers. I also don't understand why a Greek restaurant is serving Middle Eastern food like falafel? It would be nice if they had strictly Greek dishes and stuck to them and made them really well. I don't know any other Greek restaurant in Portland especially on the east side.
This is my go-to delivery spot, but I've never been to the actual restaurant until today. Staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the restaurant itself was very cute and clean. One of the chefs was even cutting wood for the wood fired grill! The menu is simple with amazing flavors! The items I always get are the hummus, wedge salad, and lamb skewers. We also tried the sausage skewer, roasted vegetables, falafel, and the incredible pita. Don't forget to save room for the frozen yogurt. The chocolate tahini shell with pistachios is a thing of beauty!
I've had Bluto's on my list for quite a long time. It's been touted as the best Greek food in Portland. Well, who am I to differ? My husband & I, my sister and my son all went for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but we were all pleasantly surprised. Everybody but me got the spiced lamb souvlai, which was ground meat on a skewer. I tried the oregano chicken. Mine was tender, flavorful grilled chicken. I loved it! I have always thought of souvlaki as a Greek version of a gyro-meat in a pita wrap with sauce & veggies. Not here. You get the meat and a pickled vegetable and that's it. That's why you need some sides and bread. The bread is better than a lot of pita I've had. We also got an order of hummas (some of the best I've had anywhere. Maybe it's because they put a dab of zhoug-a mixture of herbs & spices packed with flavor. It was as smooth as silk), as well as beet salad. It had quinoa that seemed to have been fried because it had a slight crunch which I loved. It was the perfect foil for the golden beets and radish in the salad. We ordered just the right amount of food for the 4 of us (one piece of pita each, one salad, one hummus and an order each of souvlaki). I noticed some vegetarian options on the menu as well. We all agreed we want to come back and bring the spouses who couldn't make it. Looks like I forgot to take pics of the meat. You'll just have to be surprised!
Yummy! You could definitely taste the quality of the salads and meats... yes although It was really tasty, I wouldn't be back because it was way too expensive for the portions that they serve. Bluto's has been on my list for a while and it was nice to try it out. Everything I pictured (including 2 pitas, which were so small... totaled to $50 / $60 after tip. There's honestly no way I can rationalize that w/ the portion sizes.

I say, whatever they're doing in the kitchen, keep it up: my Oregano Chicken (skewer) came out perfectly moist and wonderfully seasoned, like almost ideal temperature-wise (but a bit small portion-wise). The hummus was beautiful as well, silky smooth and drenched in a delicious pool of tasty olive oil. Our table loved it, but it's like all the food is a la carte - hummus did not come with pita as you'd expect. That's an extra $3 - a piece. At least it was warm and nicely seasoned, but it Just feels a bit nickel and dimey, especially since the hummus ain't exactly cheap and the pita is just one slice. Our third dish was the Greek fries, which came out just the way we like 'em, light and a bit crispy on the outside, tender inside and smothered in a pile of good seasoning; even a lovely hint of lemon in them. Yum. It's a short- order casual style setup, with a fairly limited but focused menu; order at the counter, take a number and a server will find you. Happy folks take your order upfront and a charming server delivers the goods. The system seems to work great in a clean, simply decorated space, though it's a bit pricy for what you get. Still a pleasant experience; where they shine is the cooking process, which seems to elevate every dish. . Word of warning; seems like this place has a lot of fans, and there was a line out the door on a late Saturday afternoon (we thought we beat the rush by coming early). A lot of young families ordering food to go, so it moves pretty quickly, but every table was taken by the time we left so plan accordingly cause the place just ain't that big, maybe 15 tables and a small counter.
This is a nice little cozy spot with fresh ingredients. I tried the traditional hummus, cucumbers, and lamb skewer. The hummus was super creamy and gigantic! The cucumbers paired nicely with the hummus. The lamb skewer was super juicy. The purple cabbage that came with the skewer just tied all the flavors together! Customer service was prompt and friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter, pay, and they ring the food out when it is ready. They have a self-serve water station.
Everything was SO flavorful and fresh tasting. Usually you see insta ads and it's all photo and no substance, this was a rare place that lived up to the expectation. The line was pretty regular/ever present and there's not much space before it's out the door, and most tables were full when we arrived between 5-6pm. The hummus, corn soup, wedge salad (best ever!), and kebabs are a must. The zucchini arugula was unique but tasted too sterno burned for me. Wait was short, food was quick, and now it's on our regular list for Portland visits.

The only thing I'd pass on next time is the soft serve because I found it to be a little icy, but that may just be a personal preference. Very kind staff that works hard to get people seated quickly (which is hard with the small restaurant). Looking forward to checking out their new Beaverton location next time!
Yum! That one word pretty much sums up my experience. It gets busy though so either plan to order ahead of time if you don't want to wait a bit for your food. My only one complaint is the shrimp skewer had a funny aftertaste that I would not recommend trying.
I only recently discovered this place thanks to a friend's recommendation, and I'm glad I did. We were seated and had our order placed within ten minutes, making for a smooth and easy start to the meal. The menu isn't overly large, which I actually appreciate as it makes choosing much easier and suggests a focus on doing a smaller number of dishes well. We ordered: * Hummus * Spanakopita Hand Pie * Spiced Lamb * Loukaniko Sausage * Oregano Chicken The food was excellent. Everything was simple, thoughtfully prepared, and packed with flavor. There wasn't a lot of fuss or unnecessary complexity ,just well-executed dishes that let the ingredients shine. We genuinely enjoyed almost every item we tried.The cocktails were every bit as good as the food. In fact, I liked the Liquid Gold so much that I ordered a second one. There isn't much in the way of traditional table service since it's a café-style ordering system, but everything ran efficiently. Pricing felt perhaps slightly on the higher side relative to the portion sizes. read more

The service was great. Everyone was friendly, we were seated and received our food quickly despite it being busy on a Saturday evening. The restaurant itself is cute and cozy. I loved the wood fire as it kept us warm. As for the food it was not bad but not good either. The wedge salad is one of my favorite salads but the Bluto Wedge has a lot going on. Too many rich flavors, to the point of too much. It tasted like horseradish, with dill, and bacon grease. I personally love the taste of salad so don't need mine drenched in dressing like this one was. The Greek fries were cooked well but again too salty and over seasoned. The best part of the meal was the pita bread, it was cooked perfectly! read more

Beautiful lil Greek spot - meat comes on skewers (options like chicken lamb sausage etc) and very seasoned! Ordered the hummus with pita and also a side of the Greek fries (I recommend these a lot, halloumi cheese makes it a stand out). Very busy of a place but the cashier ends up sitting you ( and lucky that we got sat outside during sunset!) the neighborhood itself felt majestical with the trees and locals walking around, very great dinner date spot read more
Came here with a group of four for a casual lunch. We really enjoyed the welcoming ambiance, and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable in guiding us through the menu. However, the food didn't quite live up to our expectations, especially considering the portion sizes relative to the price point. We tried several souvlaki options--lamb, shrimp, and chicken--along with the spring hummus, pita, and charred carrots. The meats were all nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the hummus was fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the charred carrots were a miss; despite a good sear on the outside, they were undercooked and uncomfortably hard to eat. While there were definitely highlights, the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming. read more

Finally got here. So good. Short review. Just get the hummus, lamb skewers and bread! Omg so good. I know other stuff is good too, bit those were off the charts. The soft serve with the hard shell was amazing too! Cant wait to go again! read more
Fantastic food! Everything is delicious, and the potion and quality on the hummus is phenomenal! I have been wanting to go here for a while and I'm so happy I finally made it in. Super quick counter service. Nice inside seating, very clean and chill vibe. We sat outside at picnic style tables along the building, which was great for lunch in summer. Highly recommend, will absolutely go again. read more
I returned for a full meal and was happily sated. The Little Gems salad is now one of my favorites in town, the ingredients complement each others well. I topped it with a tender skewer of chicken souvlaki. The Yuzu Mojito was refreshing. The price points are fair and they have a following so it can get crowded. The service was friendly albeit a touch too aggressive. A little condescending actually, but oh well. Parking is doable. read more

Looks like Beaverton food scene just grew again and added another great new spot to indulge all your Greek/ Mediterranean needs!! Took over the old Afuri Izakaya spot in downtown Beaverton across from 1st street pocha. Order at counter and served table side....All aka cart and luckily arrived with our big group and we ordered one of everything.... Hmmm....Open fire grill adds a very tasty Smokey treat!! Wow Bluto's blew me away with every single menu item we ordered. The spiced beef hummus was the first time I've ever had meat incorporated into the hummus and it was DELICIOUS. I'm not a huge fan of hummus but this one was so good - I loved that it wasn't too acidic for me and it was the perfect blend of savory and sweet. I loved the additional texture with the hazelnuts. The next thing that impressed me was the charred carrots and cress. Wow to have the char flavor come through on the greens took it to the next level for me. The falafels had a great crunch and the beets were such a nice and refreshing contrast to everything else. The sauce on the plate did taste a little soapy to me so that's why this wasn't in the top spot for me. Last but not least, the lamb and chicken skewers were both juicy and seasoned excellently. The pita was chewy and fresh - the size is a little small though so definitely plan on ordering your own if you're doing family style. I was drawn in because of an ig reel featuring their fresh Greek frozen yogurt (which was delicious!!!) but I walked away in love with everything else much more. I can't wait to be back! read more
Stopped by here for a quick lunch with the family on a weekday. It was crowded and we had to settle for a side benchtop and put our toddler in a high chair facing the ledge. The servers were really attentive and gave us wait time and options. It smelled delicious and we ordered: lamb skewers, hummus & pita, and pork chop & fries. Food came out quickly - my fav was the hummus and pita bread. Really flavorful and a huge portion. Definitely saving it for leftovers! The pork chop was too chewy and felt overdone - for a thin chop they should've taken it off the grill earlier. Didn't enjoy the fries too much either, not the consistency I like. Lamb skewers were also flavorful, but a bit on the salty side. I don't mind it but grandma did not enjoy it. All in all, place is good for quick lunch date but I personally may not return as there are too many other restaurants to try on Belmont! read more
We had been meaning to pop in since they've opened and now regret not having come sooner. The flavors are incredible in each dish we tried. Definitely order more bread than you think you'll need--the hummus portion was massive! You order at the front and then you find yourself a seat with your number--pretty straightforward and casual. Service was kind and helpful. We came at around 4:30 and by 5, it really started to fill in so come earlier if you can! read more

I came here for lunch on a weekend and fortunately, I was able to grab seats because it was pretty busy. This is the kind of spot where you order at the counter, and the food is brought out to your table. Staff is very friendly. My friends and I ordered the squash hummus with pita bread, chicken & lamb skewers, and soft serve at the end. The pita bread was warm and well-seasoned, and the hummus was absolutely stunning and SO SO flavorful. I loved the squash in the middle and the nuts throughout the hummus--it added so much. The skewers were also delicious and good portions, with tons of seasoned and pickled vegetables for you to enjoy it with. And, the soft-serve is a must-get to end your meal! Everything here was good, the lamb, the shrimp, the pita, the hummus, the fries. I even enjoyed the pita a lot. I wish the portions were a bit bigger, or any of the food came with pita or fries. That's really the only thing that keeps us from coming back often. It's a cool spot, and the people working there are kind. The inside has a nice vibe and there's outdoor seating. read more

This place was pretty good overall, hummus and bread was amazing, soft serve was also pretty good. I got the vanilla with the olive oil and salt and surprisingly it was delicious. The only reason for the 3/5 was that it was expensive for how big the portions were. I got the sausage kebab and it was three pieces of sausage for $9 if I remember correctly. Each piece of bread is $3 as well as no bread comes with the hummus. read more

The spanakopita was OK, unsure of honey, being a match to it. The price was fairly inflated, especially for small rounds of bread. I was not a big fan of the soft serve, as it was not sweet enough for me. Glad that I got to try ouzo! read more

This place is short order style, fancy casual. It's got a real wood fire oven inside cooking up meat skewers and other goodies! The staff greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere, then order when ready at the counter. We split a few items that were all pretty good! The hummus was the star both in looks and flavor! It had some maybe mint/cilantro chutney in the center - superb! You get so much hummus that you'll only wish you had ordered more bread. Chicken was decent, but kind of a small portion! My partner loved the pear and arugula salad, but it didn't have any arugula! We were pretty sure it was power greens and radicchio - pears were nice, but I didn't care for the whipped sheep's cheese. The bread was fresh and warm, but not my favorite style for hummus. Prices are moderate. I would go back! read more

This place is a necessary stop! The food is absolutely delicious. I recommend Bluto's hands down, such authentic and delicious food. We got the original hummus and pitas all around, along with greek fries. Everything was delicious, the pitas are delightful! The service is quick and efficient, with bright lighting and comfortable seating areas, self serve water is convenient and great as well! read more
This place would have been a 5/5 or even a 10/10 if it wasn't for their overcooked pork chops and meat cooking in general...Stick to their vegetarian options! Their Squash Hummus was STELLAR. Best I've ever had. Smooth and flavorful with lots of fun textures and toppings. Their Pita is also a must. The Grilled Cauliflower and Lentils were nicely smokey and hearty. Fries were fresh and crispy. We're stuffed but couldn't resist the Chocolate Tahini Shell & Pistachio Swirl Softserve and you shouldn't either. Great size for sharing and the perfect end to the meal. read more
Bluto's has a casual space and a very focused, limited menu. Not complaining though -- its nice to have that sometimes-- makes your choice easy. Their hummus was one of the best I've had. Also loved the beets & quinoa salad. Chicken souvlaki was good too. The only thing we didn't particularly like were the charred vegetables -- they were a little too smoky! They had to make us move to another table mid-meal just to accommodate a bigger group together. That wasn't an issue for us but they went out of their way to make up for it -- apologizing profusely and even offering free dessert (but we were too full to take up that offer). Appreciate the courtesy though! read more
