While in his chair my son was crying, because McConnachie held a needle in him all the way down to the gum line and would not take it out. As my son was crying, his nose filled up with mucus and he could not breath. McConnachie was leaning over him in an intimidating manner and was gritting his teeth as he kept the needle in his gum and said, "stop crying" through your gritted teeth. MY SON COULD NOT BREATH, because his nose was full. I begged McConnachie to stop and let him blow his nose, but McConnachie continued your intimidation and continued to keep the needle in my son's mouth and say "STOP crying", through gritted teeth. Out of complete desperation, I screamed at you at the top of my lungs, "YOU LEAVE MY SON ALONE." Only then did McConnachie take the needle out of my son's mouth and allow him to clear his nose. We had no choice but to finish the work. I carried my son out in my arms to the looks of complete shock on people's faces in your waiting room. I paid the bill (I'll never know why....I was still in shock by what you did) and to this day I think of what McConnachiedid to my son. McConnachie is supposed to be an EXPERT in children. McConnachie was the biggest bastard I have ever seen and I hope karma catches up with himfor what are likely hundreds of other cases of emotional trauma he caused. Sick people like McConnachie, often get in power because they enjoy the abuse of that power. Like the pedophile who volunteers for Boy Scouts. I will NEVER get over what McConnachie did to my son and me that day. All these years later, I still wish someone gives you a taste of your own medicine. SHAME on him! I know people like McConnachie have no conscience, so I know he doesn't care, but I believe that one day he will get back what you he has done to hurt what is likely so many. This sounds like some crazy rant, but you have to consider that this has stayed with my son and I all these years. I was in my dentist's office this week, telling him the story and was painfully aware of how upsetting it is to this day. The internet was not what it is today and I guarantee that if McConnachie did this to us, he did it to other. So I felt an obligation to post this message, in hopes that others won't go through what we did and have a child who is terrified of the dentist for the rest of his life. He was SO traumatized that even though he was SEDATED and a toddler, he REMEMBERS it fully! That speaks volumes, as does that I am writing this 15 years later.

In particular, one of my children had to have emergency dental surgery done at CHEO when he was 2 years old and that left him fairly traumatized @ dental care, as you would imagine. Dr Ian and his team worked patiently with my son over two years to de-sensitize him. That was 12 years ago. My son and I were there today for an hour long procedure which he tolerated beautifully as a result of the years of great care. I would not hesitate to recommend this dental office.

Other dentists have been a disaster. Dr. Walters had solutions to all of my problems and the training and technology to make it happen. When I needed to get cavities replaced he knew to shrink the nerve first before putting on a permanent filling. My previous dentist did not and I ended up with a root canal. Dr Walters had a simple modern appliance for my teeth grinding, my previous dentists wanted to sell me a complicated 'old' style appliance. As a result of all of my experience with Dr. Walters, he's the only dentist I've ever trusted 100%.
