Both are well connected to the local food and wine scene and they introduced us to a couple of the vineyards that are within a ten-minute drive of the Inn and pointed us to an amazing restaurant in Hammondsport--again a short drive from the Inn. Although we didn't have enough time to get there, the Inn is also right next door to a brewery and distillery. Our weather was less than ideal, but it didn't matter. We spent a couple of hours one afternoon hanging out in the historic cupola room with complimentary hot drinks and cookies. As history buffs, we were impressed that the Inn is on the National Registry of Historic Places and was also a stop on the Underground Railroad. It was a perfect environment for the family to catch up before another lovely meal in the Hammondsport area. The Inn offers a full and hearty breakfast each morning--enough food that you may want to skip lunch. They are also more than accommodating for each member of our family's varied dietary preferences; both the vegans and carnivores left the table fully satisfied. We will definitely return, and maybe on our next visit we can hit that brewery!

The house is super historic and on the Register of Historic Landmarks as well. Everything is beautiful both inside and out. Our room didn't have a TV or fridge, but there is a TV and small fridge in the common area on the second floor. There are plenty of books, games, and puzzles. We enjoyed the beautiful weather by spending a lot of time outside. There is plenty of seating both out back and out front. We really can't say enough great things about our stay, and hope to come back again one day.

I would sleep on the floor for Jeanette's breakfasts. And plan to order their homemade pizza and salad one night. It could be the best dinner of your trip. The house faces a gorgeous view of Lake Kueka, the Luna suite was spacious and comfortable, the bed was great, and each room has an en-suite bathroom. The whole house was spotless. We also took advantage of Steven's wine tour, letting him choose the destinations (excellent and varied) and drive so we could enjoy the tastings. He delivered a beautiful charcuterie board at our third stop. After a hard day of vineyard visits, we played pool, darts, and cornhole in Moonshadow's well stocked game room. Away from our temporary home, we visited the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, hiked to several waterfalls around Ithaca (Buttermilk Falls was our favorite), and enjoyed the Corning Museum of Glass. On Jeanette and Steven's recommendation, we stopped by the Muranda dairy farm in Waterloo for a cheese tasting. It was fabulous! Watkins Glen State Park is less than an hour away and you could even add a day trip to Niagara Falls. Whatever you do during the days, plan to start and end them at Moonshadow!

The location on Keuka Lake is serene and picturesque, with a small waterfall on the property. It is close to the Azure Hill, Dr. Franck, Heron Hill and Keuka Lake wineries. My wife and I stayed for four nights. The newly renovated rooms were large and comfortable. The coffee was ready early. The breakfasts were delicious. Whether we had eggs, bagels and lox, pancakes, or muffins, everything was well prepared and expertly presented. If wineries is your thing, Steven will chauffeur you around to some really nice ones, and throw in a brewery to boot. In the evenings, Jeanette and Steven are engaging to talk to and fun to be with. You will be happy if you go.

We had a Groupon for 2 nights but that expired (the cash value was $219). And Catherine was charging us an additional $196 (the difference in current charges and the Groupon value) this was all okay. But when they offered us rooms at the Best Western they maintained the same charges!!! The most expensive room at the BW is $130 a night or $260 for the weekend. These bait and switch disreputable people were basically charging us $415 for 2 nights At a Best Western!!! I would NEVER use them or recommend Catherine as a place to do any business with ever!!

After booking our room in April through the booking partner on their website, we immediately received a "guaranteed reservation" confirmation email and our credit card was debited. Then only a few days before our arrival date in late June, I get a call and email from the owner saying that our room was "doubled booked" and there was nothing she could do. Plus she told me that it was "up to us" to get a refund from the booking partner. At first that seemed to be a straight enough process - though they tried to keep their service fee! - that told me they would refund my money after getting confirmation from the hotel that the no refund policy was being removed. Weeks go by and we got the same message every day - they were unable to contact the hotel. When I reached out to the owner she told me that her phone "blocked their calls because they were marketing calls!" When I finally told her that we would be forced to take legal action to get our money back, she told me to stop threatening her and then said - in an email - that we gave up our room and she graciously allowed it to happen! Now I have her original email and voice mail - which I will gladly share with anyone who wants it - where she told us we did not have room and there was "nothing she could do." While based on the many negative reviews of people who actually stayed here, it may have been a blessing in disguise, though until we get our money back this remains a nightmare. The total lack of customer service on both the establishment and the booking partner is beyond belief. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE unless you want to be taken for a ride. The only reason I gave it one star is that the system forced me to. They deserve LESS than zero stars! We ended up having to find other accommodations at a nice, but very overpriced nearby Best Western. Also, I am not from San Francisco, not sure why Yelp thinks I am!

Five years from now, I expect she will be FS staff. Scott was our tour guide today and he is perfect at his job. He introduced us to the animal ambassadors and the mission of Farm Sanctuary's founding. My girls, their friend and myself loved interacting with the wonderful animals, learning their names, hearing about their origin stories and seeing how they've adjusted to the kindness of vegans after lives of suffering at human hands. I highly recommend anyone reading this make the trip to Farm Sanctuary someday. It's a life-affirming experience. YES : VEGAN AF YES : FAMILY FRIENDLY AF

The rooms are glorious, with great beds and bedding, and incredibly comfortable, with private bathrooms.
