She said my lashes would take longer. I said but I was already sitting here waiting for some time. She said I'm so sorry I didn't mean to do that. Yes you did, u told her to sit in the chair and she remained there. I've been going to that place for some time now and I always tip them before I leave. I will never go back to them.

I was very pleased with today's service!…read more The aesthetician being available at the last minute was the first plus. I had an appointment elsewhere today but due to unforeseen circumstances, it was canceled and I was searching all over for a lash extension service before heading out of town. I reached out to three businesses, assuming most would be closed on Monday... Gratefully this business was open and had several appointment times for me to choose from. *hand claps* I saw pictures of their work online so I knew the quality of work was on point before I made an appointment. The establishment is run professionally, appears very clean, and I enjoyed their taste in music. I fell asleep at least twice but the aesthetician was very gentle (and didn't wake me) and I was pleased with the outcome. Lastly, I appreciate this business is owned by a Black woman. I enjoy being purposeful in buying Black and supporting women whenever I can! I'll be back in two weeks for a refill.

Lash lift did not work. I've had them done before at other salons in St. Louis with great outcomes…read more This time, the lashes were left clumpy, they did not curl upright or lay evenly across the upper lid, and today - day after - it looks like nothing was done. A waste of $75 dollars. I would like to support this local salon but given this poor experience for a basic service I cannot trust the quality expectations of the business. If this artist's work was deemed sufficient to pass them into a position of a professional provide and it was sub par, I won't risk attempting another try at this or another service at this salon because quality standards are lacking judging by this service. Very frustrating because I rarely spend $ on beauty given my tight budget and this was a waste of time and dollars.

My expectation was that the fee would only be applied after the consultation had occurred. Within a two week period I left multiple messages asking that someone call so that I could schedule the service. The last message that I left was to convey my frustration and that they better not put any charges on my credit card. They ended up charging my credit card $50 even though no appointment was ever made. Attempting to do business with this Beauty Marks Studio was a bad mistake.

The hairstroke technique blended seamlessly with my sparse brows, and the symmetry improved my overall face shape. I was happy with the color Carmen chose for me. Microblading can be pricey, but for me it was worth it. My brows now look fuller and more defined without looking overly "done," which was my biggest concern. The hair-stroke effect is surprisingly realistic. I love waking up with brows that already look shaped--it honestly cuts down my morning routine. It gave me confidence, streamlined my routine, and looks incredibly natural. The key is choosing a skilled, certified technician and Carmen was the perfect choice for me. She is prompt and professional and her suite is very clean and comfortable.

Deplorable…read more Yesterday (12/24/18) I went in for my scheduled manicure. The owner (who sits directly at the entrance) chose not to acknowledge my presence with a standard greeting; clearly a selective behavior as I've noticed he greets others with excitement. I carry on to get my service with my usual tech. Approximately 30 minutes after leaving the nail salon I noticed a chip & advised my tech via text with a photo. She chose not to acknowledge. Backtrack to my visit (12/12/18): Jennifer stepped up to save the day and I appreciate it. There was an apparent mix up with my usual tech (she was out & was asked to return in a couple of hours and when I did so I was met with agitation, rudeness and unprofessionalism by the owner). Upon my return (2 hours) my tech was still not there. The owner accused me of "storming out" without indicating my return. Let me state I am a full grown adult who does not "storm out" of any place. To be accused of such juvenile was insulting. Anyway, my tech still was not there. At this point I'd rearranged my day dependent on the advisement to return. We went back & forth for a few moments (totally unprofessional) with no solutions or apologies being offered. Finally Jennifer stepped in by politely inviting me to her area so she could take care of me. Indeed she did. My nails turned out absolutely beautiful & it only took 30 minutes for her to perfect my powder dip manicure. Her pleasant, professional work kept me from going elsewhere after being a LOYAL Zen Nail client for over 3 years. While being serviced my usual tech walked in; not acknowledging me with a greeting or even an apology. Upon checkout Jennifer apologized for the mix up, offered to schedule my next appointment with my usual tech and extended wishes of a good day. I'll end with this note: Good product does not outweigh bad customer service. A non-problematic, paying individual should be valued & appreciated. ALL CLIENTS SHOULD BE TREATED EQUAL. Owners/managers have a responsibility to treat clients with respect as their behavior will be mimicked by their staff. Poor customer service = a poorly run business. In having options on where I spend my hard earned money. Shame on me for putting up with it this long. I certainly will not patronize this business moving forward. ~Christy
