I have been a loyal client of Lash and Brow Design for two years. After a recent experience, I feel…read morecompelled to share what happened -- not just because of the billing dispute, but because of how I was treated throughout. I booked an appointment for Friday, June 12th and received a text confirmation for 12:30pm. When I called that morning to ask about coming in early, I was told I had no appointment on June 12th -- that I had been booked under an old profile and phone number for June 11th, and that I owed $150 for a missed appointment I never knew I had. I showed my text confirmation clearly dated June 12th. I was told it didn't matter. The error was made by the salon -- a new front desk employee used an outdated profile, so I never received accurate confirmation details. I have documented proof of this. Despite that, the charge was not reversed and the situation was not corrected. I also want to be honest about something I've noticed over time: concerns I raise as a Black client in Carmel tend to be handled differently than those of white clients. I'm not saying this to be inflammatory -- I'm saying it because it's my lived experience, and I think it's worth naming. I have no intention of leaving this city or this salon lightly, but I do expect to be treated with the same respect, accountability, and good faith extended to everyone else. This appointment mattered. I had a gala the next day. I came prepared with proof. I was dismissed anyway. That's not acceptable, and I hope the salon takes a serious look at how client concerns are being addressed.

I also have to use eyeliner pencil now to fill in the gaps. Yes you need a touch up. I watched her run from the building and jump in her car because she was afraid I'd seen my black eyes. Not good. Not good at all. The lady was LOVELY! I gave her…read morevery specific goals for my eyeliner and when they were first done, I left feeling optimistic. I tipped her very well and followed all of her follow up suggestions. The ink flaked off within days, leaving me with random black dots/smudges across my eye "close" to where eyeliner would go. I communicated my concerns and she had me come back in for a better "touch up"...free of charge. (As she saw how poorly they looked.) I left and within days I was left with more of the same. They aren't just bad--- they are embarrassingly bad. I just gave up! Eventually, I will get them fixed, but for now I just cover them up with makeup and liner. This is for my son's wedding and I wanted to make sure this was reasonable. My tan lines were fairly light but I am wearing an off the shoulder dress. When they didn't respond after three days, I called and left a voice mail. They then responded via email. I set up the appointment for 1pm for express spray tan. The day of my appointment, they called me in the morning and asked if I could come in by 10:45 or 11. I thought I could make it by 11. It turns out I couldn't get there until 11:15. The clerk/sprayer operator acted very put out even though I was doing them a favor by changing my appointment. I let the bronzer sit on me for 8 hours and I did not wear a bra. She told me that I should not wear one until I rinsed off unless I wanted lines. I definitely did NOT want lines....that is what I am trying to avoid. I did the express. I should have only had to wait 4 hours. I waited 8 for good measure. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED! I don't know if the photos reflect it well, but I still have lines....which will show up in photos and I have lines on my wrists. Maybe my wrists weren't straight when she sprayed them. This was not a good experience for me. I'm not dark skinned, and these were not dark lines to begin with. These photos are from 28 hours after being sprayed.
