This is the worst eyeliner application you could imagine. This woman spilled the ink whatever in the corners of both my eyes. I look like I slept in my makeup. The lines under my eyes droop away from the corners. If you want to look like a clown, use a Groupon coupon for her services. Funny my reviews been buried on Groupon. You get what you pay for. I also have to use eyeliner pencil now to fill in the gaps. Yes you need a touch up. I watched her run from the building and jump in her car because she was afraid I'd seen my black eyes. Not good. Not good at all. The lady was LOVELY! I gave her very specific goals for my eyeliner and when they were first done, I left feeling optimistic. I tipped her very well and followed all of her follow up suggestions. The ink flaked off within days, leaving me with random black dots/smudges across my eye "close" to where eyeliner would go. I communicated my concerns and she had me come back in for a better "touch up"...free of charge. (As she saw how poorly they looked.) I left and within days I was left with more of the same. They aren't just bad--- they are embarrassingly bad. I just gave up! Eventually, I will get them fixed, but for now I just cover them up with makeup and liner. I'm having to write a second review for this merchant (Cathy at Carmel Permanent Makeup) because she LIED in her reply to my negative review, and this is the only way I can clear up what really happened. I had a horrible experience with this merchant. My eyebrows turned out horribly uneven (I will include pics if possible). I asked Cathy what on earth I can do about the unevenness. She first recommended that I come back so she can "fix' it. I told her I am too scared to let her work on me ever again, but is there a way to remove some of the ink that's in the wrong place (the crazy high arch on ONE of my eyebrows). After telling her I didn't want to come back to her to get it fixed, she told me to use SALINE on my eyebrow to remove the unwanted ink. She even sent me a recipe to make Saline Solution!! It didn't work. At all. However, after seeing my negative review, she sent a reply and totally LIED!! In her reply she claims that I USED SALINE ON MY EYEBROWS and ruined my eyebrows by not following her post-procedure instructions. AND HERE'S THE PROOF!! You can read our text conversation below showing what she told me to do, and see pictures of the results of the botch job she did. Ellen's text to Cathy: Is there anything I can do here to remove ink from the places that need adjusting? I'm scared to have you do stuff to my eyebrows at this point. I mainly want to know if there's even a possibility the ink can be removed. I would feel more comfortable going elsewhere to have it done if is possible for the ink to be removed from the high arch. Cathy's reply: Very gently use soap and water solution with the Qtip You can also add salt that's what a saline solution is. It will take 2 to 3 times going over it Ellen's reply: Ok, I will try ***The SALINE solution SHE TOLD ME TO MAKE & USE didn't work at all. *** So I texted again and asked again about what to do. Read on..... Cathy's reply: There is always a $85 Procedure Ellen's reply: What procedure, and by whom? Cathy's reply: The follow up procedure is 85 Ellen's reply: Oh, ok. A follow up procedure done by you? I think I mentioned in a previous text that I'm really not comfortable having you do more stuff to my eyebrows. They have turned out badly and I feel it's going to take someone with a high level of skill and a sharp eye for detail to be able to correct the inconsistencies. Truthfully, I found it rather shocking that you weren't able to see that I left your place after my procedure with vastly uneven eyebrows. Seriously, the left brow is a good 1/4 inch higher than the right brow! It's a lot of work to correct it with makeup so that I can go out in public. I am so very disappointed with the service you provided. I've given it enough time to heal, and what remains is still such an obvious mis-match between left/right brows. I will need to get this repaired by someone with the skills necessary to fix the unevenness, while still leaving me with brows that match and look good on my face. I feel like you went into the procedure just kind of winging it. There was no clinical vibe, no sterilizing the area - you simply drew two vertical lines where the arch should be (and even then, I had to tell you that your crayon marks were WAY uneven). It doesn't seem that you are able to tell how to make things even just by "eye-balling" it. But after adjusting the arch marks, you didn't stick to those marks either. You didn't even wipe off my eyebrow makeup to start with a clean landscape - you just used my eyebrow makeup that I came in with as your guide and tried to follow those lines. And you were unable to even do that, because I had come in with even eyebrows and left with uneven ones. -------------- After reading my negative review in Groupon, she replied with this: Cathy - Carmel Permanent Makeup replied: I measured your eyebrows and discussed your color. I cleansed your eyebrows before the numbing. You were happy and tipped me generously. 2 days after you contacted me and said you used saline solution. The post instructions are not to get them wet. Please do not blame me for not following instructions. ---------------- As with every complaint she gets, she BLAMED ME, the customer, for not following her post-procedure instructions. She says I messed it up by using saline. Please understand: SHE WAS THE ONE WHO TOLD ME TO USE SALINE!! I just thought anyone considering using Cathy at Carmel Permanent Makeup should see the way she handles dissatisfied customers, and how she lies to cover her crappy work by blaming the customer!! read more

I would recommed to go elsewhere for eyebrows. You will have to go somewhere else anyways to get them fixed if you go here. Cathy is pleasant, her shop is whimsical, the process was gentle for what it was. My experience was this. I bought a Groupon and was scheduled at requested time. I left my brows as is thinking they would be cleaned up during the microblading. She had me fill out a disclosure, and view a laminated sheet with eyebrow shapes and pick one. She then took a string to mark lines on either side of my nose. I then laid down and she put numbing cream on my brows and shortly after went to town with her tattoo machine. Obviously i couldnt see what she was doing but i thought it was odd she was leaning over me to tattoo the far brow. When she was done with the first go, we took a look. They kind of looked like the brows i usually did only very dark. She said they would lighten and the ink was just "setting there" sure was, my pillow was covered in ink the next morning. She did another pass, swabbed up some vaseline on them and i headed out. I was trying to be optimistic, but they didnt look like i thought they would. My husband let me know right away they looked funny as did my sons daycare lady. Sooo.... ya'll. I went back to see if she could fix them a couple of days later. She tried. There was no cost for it. They looked better up until all the ink came off again. I followed her aftercare advice, it just wasn't applied correctly. Its a gpod thing it came off tho, honestly. After 2 months of having zero choice but to put makeup on my eyebrows everyday to cover whatever it was happened at carmel permanent makeup, i finally gave in and scheduled a cover up. Waaaaaay different experience. There are measurements and drawing and shaping and approvals and hair strokes. And the ink was wiped off during and after the application. They now look great. I was very lucky my brows were not as bad as some of the other reviews I have seen and they were able to be corrected without any removal.
