March/April 2020 when I first started to get painful acne

Kenda is so down to earth. She focuses on the needs of your skin and offers the best quality products. From stress and hormones, I started to break out with adult onset acne and major hyperpigmentation. Kenda wanted to get to the root of the problem be it diet, stress, various products. She customized the facial to fight the issues my skin had. I've started to get facials regularly with her and each time she customizes to my needs- each visit has really helped my skin heal and start to glow. I've included pictures of before I started seeing her at the beginning of 2020 with painful cystic acne and every couple of months for progress.

Lira aftercare Kit

My first consultation with Kenda was such an amazing experience! Kenda is such a kind, considerate, passionate, and welcoming person. She is so understanding when addressing skin concerns and makes sure she helps you achieve the desired skin (following a skincare routine with consistency of course). Kenda goes above and beyond for clients (as a newbie) she created a personalized skincare routine through PDF. Truly blessed to have a wonderful esthetician, like Kenda! :) The Blush Bar is a beautiful, clean, and aesthetic space! Such a relaxing and comfortable environment to be in for a facial (almost fell asleep)! I love that Kenda offers an aftercare kit so that you can try the Lira products at home. Kenda also includes a Lira booklet which comes in handy to learn more about the products and discover new ones. I Fell in love with the Lira products that I went back to get the full-sized products :) Kenda and Lira are the best duos out! My skin has improved and has been glowing like never before! I will be back for many more facials and Lira products!!

Went here for my very first set of hybrid lashes. I had many questions in regards to the weight of lashes, the care, and if make up could be used with them and Kenda answered them all. During the appointment she makes sure you are comfortable throughout the whole process and I just loved the ambiance and decor of the room. Her online website is wonderful as it provides all the different types of services she does as well as any specials that may be going on for the month. I absolutely love how my lashes turned out and I will for sure be a returning customer!

Chelsey!! Chelsey!! Chelsey!!…read more Ok -- So, the phrase "Oh, Sweet Baby Jesus!" went thru my head more than once during my one-hour signature facial with Chelsey. I got the works on my face, which started with a brow and lip wax. She was all up on me, making sure to get every little unwanted hair. Amazing! Yes! We chatted thru the waxing, having a good 'ole time. Ripping out someone's unwanted facial hair and being paid to do it is always so much fun, I'm sure! Once she was done, it was time to relax. As soon as those lights turned off and my eyes closed, all talking ceased. Chelsey and I have been friends for a while, but I loved that she let me relax while she did her thing. No talking! Huge plus! She used this tool thing that vibrated-massaged my face all while exfoliating. I've never experienced that before and it was awesome. She uses Dermalogica products. I have had facials before where I left still feeling like my skin was clogged and heavy. This was the first facial in a long time where my skin really felt deep-cleaned and detoxed, which is what my goal was. I have sensitive skin. During previous facials, estheticians have used products that burned or stung my skin when applied. None of these products did that, even after being waxed. The only thing I smelled in the product was a hint of roses. It's been about 3hrs and my skin still feels moisturized but lite; not super greasy or heavy. And soft!!!!! Massage! All together now: Oh, Sweet Baby Jesus! The massage! She massaged my face, neck, hands, arms, shoulders, upper chest, upper back, head -- I think I drooled a little. I loved that it was so quiet in the salon! Maybe because I was the only customer there at the time, but I didn't really hear anything other than the music and whir of the steamer and oils diffuser. Her room was so comfy and relaxing! Smelled like lavender and soft roses. Heated bed. Blankets. Fireplace heater. Sigh! Yes, I have my next appointment booked already. Bathroom: Clean and tidy, as it should be! Total spa experience, complete with rocks in the sink and super soft paper towels. Thank you, Chelsey, for an amazing relaxing experience!

So the other day I wanted to get a hair cut as well a little beard trim , I used to be very picky…read moreabout my barber, or stylist. and over time they start to remember you with time and time again.. well they have alot to pick from , Barbers, and Stylists alike. I was told If I like a stylist or barber I can get them again, and basically follow them and hopefully after they graduate . I think thats pretty cool Anyways, back to the review... Had to wait till they opened, which is not the time Yelp says they are open at 9am, I think thats when they start school, and staff get there, the actual Salon and Barbershop open at 10:30, if I remember right, it was not 9am like its posted. Walking into the place is a little confusing and so much going on, like they need a remodel with the guest check / receptionist, and behind them a walk way for others in the building getting to one side to the other, withoutblocking the flow of traffic. But I dont judge them at all, just was screaming for traffic flow, and receptionist work space. And before I forget , a Shout out to JOEY, I swear it was Joey, I am terrible at names... Tall ... just leave it at that dude was tall.. nice guy, didnt talk much, but then again they are pretty focused on the job at hand. gave me a almost prefect cut, as he was shaving my side, he shaved my side burns right off.. all good, they grow back fast anyways. and when he did my beard my wife said it was off one side, but I still liked and felt good. You have to understand unless you get an instructor which i had once, but he was showing techines on my hair.. to students, so I doubt they do that often? My point is these are college kids/adults/people. They are there learning and growing doing something most of them love and have a real passion for. Give them a chance. I have to say I really like my last cut looks nice, and cool ready for summer If found the Reviews Helpful, Please Tell them YELP sent you, gives them feed back , and know how powerful YELP is as a tool for finding sooo many different things, and all reviewed by you people..

The school presented during my tour is not the school I experienced after enrolling. During…read moreenrollment, everyone was welcoming and the program sounded organized, supportive, and full of opportunities. Once enrolled, my experience changed significantly. The administration, owners, and some instructors can be rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. At times, it feels more like high school than a professional vocational school, with unnecessary drama between the cosmetology, esthetics, and barbering departments. The education is chaotic and unorganized. Rules, schedules, and expectations constantly change. One of the most concerning examples was having a CURRENT STUDENT--not a graduate, teacher's aide, or instructor--create and teach a State Board theory review. The instructors did not appear to review the material beforehand, and there were conflicting questions and answers. I did not pay tuition to have another student running class or preparing me for State Board. I was also informed that this same student was entering her own school hours while working in the administrative office, which raised concerns for me about oversight and accountability. Favoritism and inconsistent enforcement of rules have also been extremely frustrating. Policies seem to depend on the student. I was told I could not come to school after a doctor's appointment or after my son's graduation, forcing me to miss entire days. Meanwhile, another student was told the school would work around her doctor's appointments. I was also told I could be charged approximately $90 PER DAY if I went beyond my contract, while another student who regularly missed class was considered a "special case." During my tour, I specifically asked about making up hours and was told makeup hours were available. About a month after I started, makeup hours were eliminated, yet some students were still allowed to make up hours on a "case-by-case" basis. Rules should apply consistently to students paying the same tuition. Cleanliness and sanitation are another concern. This school teaches infection control and sanitation, yet I personally witnessed black-colored buildup come out of a sink. The facility does not appear to receive the level of deep cleaning I would expect from a school performing services on the public. At one point, there was even discussion about not providing basic supplies like dish soap and hand sanitizer. Students are taught to properly wash equipment and sanitize their hands before clients, accessing cabinets, or using equipment, yet providing basic sanitation supplies was an issue. I personally donated dish soap and hand sanitizer because we needed it. With the amount students pay in tuition, basic sanitation supplies should be provided. The location is another concern. In my experience, people who appear to be under the influence frequently roam the parking lot and nearby field, and there is often trash around the property. Students were also instructed at one point to park farther away so closer parking could be reserved for clients. To me, that prioritized client convenience over student safety and the security of our vehicles. Overall, I feel there is a greater focus on bringing clients into the school and generating revenue than on the quality of the student experience. Students are paying thousands of dollars for an education and should receive qualified instruction, consistent policies, quality products, adequate sanitation supplies, organization, and a safe learning environment. I was also sold on several opportunities during my tour that influenced my decision to enroll. I was told Dermalogica came frequently because this was a "Dermalogica school," that we would take field trips, attend Dermalogica trainings as a class, and learn Hydrafacial and receive certification. During approximately six months of enrollment, Dermalogica came ONE TIME. Many of the opportunities described during enrollment did not happen as they were presented to me. That is one of my biggest issues. I chose this school based heavily on what I was told during my tour. Had I known what my actual experience would be, I would have chosen differently. If you are considering this school, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Talk to current students, read reviews, tour other schools, ask exactly what tuition includes, and ask about attendance, makeup hours, over-contract fees, State Board preparation, certifications, sanitation supplies, and outside training. Most importantly, GET PROMISES ABOUT TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS, FIELD TRIPS, OR MAKEUP HOURS IN WRITING before signing anything. I will give credit where it is deserved: there are three esthetics instructors I think are great, as well as Ms. Nadine. Unfortunately, a few good staff members do not outweigh the larger issues I have experienced. Based on my personal experience, I would absolutely research other esthetician programs before choosing California College of Barbering & Cosmetology

I randomly met Tiffany when I was getting my nails done. I found out she did facials and I needed a new esthetician. I took a chance and I am so glad I did. I will stay committed and loyal to her forever. She listened to my skin concerns. I have extreme dermititis and my skin can be very sensitive. She understood, she made sure I was fine with her process and how she did things. Her products are top notch and I haven't had a reaction yet. My skin always look better afterwards and I swear she reversed my aging. I'm in my 30s and my skin looks and feels better than my early 20s. Next, my lashes she does the best lash lifts. I read horror stories and what can go wrong if it isn't done correctly. My lashes stay hydrated and no breakage after it is done. The lifts last several months.
