It's my age. I remember life pre Bluewater, or certainly when it was new and shiny, like a new penny. First time here in maybe a decade or so, I was surprised to find it had held up remarkably well..it hasn't dated that badly and doesn't feel like the poor neighbour to the recent Westfield Centres in West & East London. Writing this review on Nov 1st, I'd suggest (if you can) to avoid it from now until around mid January as it will heave, throng, and burst at the seams due to Christmas / January Sales... Came here during Christmas and there were crowds were everywhere. Having said that, there were sales everywhere, so don't blame the shoppers for hunting down a good bargain. This place is big and has all the major retail shops under one roof, including some major department stores too.. Ample parking spaces outside too. read more

Bluewater shopping centre is a fantastic one stop arena for purchasing all your Christmas needs. If you live south of the river it may be more time efficient for you to try Bluewater for your consumerist needs than the West End. Only 15mins south of Blackwell tunnel, it can be a short drive. You'll be pleased at the huge array of shops on offer here. The flagship stores are House of Fraser, John Lewis and Marks and Spencer's. For fashion they have the likes of All Saints and Topshop and a huge array of other high street and boutique fashion stores. For food I suggest trying out TGI Fridays. The food is delicious and the quantities are large. Check out the bartenders to, they are crazy. Ask for Frodo to make you a drink, he is the UK flair champion and has some awesome moves. Bluewater has an impressive cinema and adventure parks for kids. The ground's the centre is built in is beautiful and great to cycle around on a hot day. They have tried to cater to all types of consumer and I personally believe they have succeeded. read more

I suppose I'd better review this place seeing as I practically live there. No seriously, I do. I can see it out of my bedroom window and not in the distance my friends. No, no, no, I can look down upon it as if it were my own private kingdom. The whole shebang! Built in a disused chalk pit just off of the Dartford Crossing, M25 and the new swanky HS1 rail links it's easily accessible for commuters who like many of my non-Kentish friends see Bluewater as a 'day out'. Such novelty has worn off for me personally though I can appreciate the other aspects that they might miss. Commercially speaking it's a shoppers paradise. Triangular in design and over two tiers, each side has it's own theme and style and indeed price band - you'll soon work out which. However, despite over 300 shops and little boutiques there are no budget stores like Primark. Chin up folks, Lakeside's only across the river :) The sheer size of it also conveniently helps to burn off those calories totting up a fabulous 3 miles all the way around top and bottom. Never far from a coffee shop or somewhere to get your munch on. Bluewater caters for pretty much any type of cuisine you could possibly want. My personal faves being TGI Friday, Zizzi's, Leon, Bitz and Pizza and La Tasca. Standard fast food staples such as Maccy D's and Pizza Hut are also available. Oh and did I mention there's a cinema? Standardly priced but always a wide selection of films over 13 screens, good amount of leg room and comfy chairs. WIN! The architecture and the ground are spectacular. Intricate details on both the inside and the outside which I feel can only be truly appreciated when it's quite. Amazing sculptures, quotes from the likes of Rudyard Kipling are definitely worth checking out. Grounds are beautiful. Lots of greenery, lakes from boating and little hidden gems to be found. In the Winter they turn a whole outdoor section into a Winter Wonderland complete with Christmas Market, ice rink, reindeer, Father Christmas and more lights than you can shake a stick at. Pretty :) So, yeah come down and check it out. You might even bump into me or the odd celeb. Last weekend I decided to take a one hit approach to this years Christmas shopping and take a day trip to Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent. It's conveniently located just off the M25 so is pretty easy to find by car and even easier when you sit in the passenger seat whilst your mate drives. Bonus! We rocked up at around ten and there was still plenty of car parking space although the later you get there, the further away you'll have to park. Last year this led to a mini-domestic as I had to lug a laptop and printer past rows and rows of early birds all the way to the outer zones. Not happy. Anyway, despite the era of cyber-fluffiness that social networking websites have ushered in, you're probably not interested in my history of retail-based break ups, you want to know about Bluewater. And its Fab. But then I am biased because I LOVE shopping and you have to LOVE shopping to appreciate it. If you're the unwilling party dragged along for company, to monitor and update the shopping list or to answer the inevitable, "Does my bum look big in this? (Yep, thats another story. Not a time for honesty Gents)" then you will no doubt despise the experience. However, if you've a good budget, a keen eye for a bargain and a sound shopping agenda, you'll be in heaven. Theres plenty of stores here from the Mid-to-High range of high street outlets. Not many cheap and cheerfuls (this is of course a matter of perspective. The folks who owned the Aston Martin in the car park were probably 'slumming it'). The list of stores can be found on the website so I won't bore you with it here and, of course, the level of service you'll find varies from impeccable and fantastic all the way down to Jessops. When the feet tire (and they will), I recommend either Leon or Nandos for lunch, but expect to queue if you want to eat during regular lunchtime hours. We tend to grab a snack at around eleven and then stick it out till about three or four for a main meal to avoid crowds and long waiting times. There is also a cinema which shows films throughout the day for those that really need to leave the shopping zone. My challenge to you is to walk past the ButterCupcake Shop more than once without buying one. And if your partner says, "I don't want one, you get one if you like," you'll be eating half a cup cake. read more

Bluewater Shopping Centre is based just outside London in Kent but transport links means that is is accessible to Londoners with ease. Until recently it was Europe's largest shopping mall and so that alone magnetised people to come from far and wide to shop. The mall contains over 300 shops, most of which can be described as High Street to higher end luxury stores. There are next to no budget stores here, no Primark, no Woolworths, Bluewater is aimed at people with money in their pockets. High Street shops like Topman/Topshop and Burton's make an appearance alongside stores like Zara, Ralph Lauren and Pringle. The place is a triangular shape with three "sections" meaning that it is easy to find your way around. If you do get lost then the many concierge desks are always helpful. One of the plus sides to the size is that lapping Bluewater seriously burns off those calories. If shopping does get tiring, there are seated areas to rest your feet dotted around the mall. Or if you prefer, maybe one of the many coffee bars on every corner. No matter what day of the week, Bluewater is always busy. People travel from significant distances to shop here and treat the experience as a day out which is easy considering the number of activities available. As well as shops, Bluewater is host to restaurants of all varieties, from burger bars to Italian and even specialist seafood restaurants. The Sports Bar upstairs provides a watering hole and next door is the cinema. Weekends are especially busy and require nerves of steel and the patience of a saint for a successful shopping trip. For those who prefer a quieter shop, late night shopping is available in the week with significantly less people to bother you. If you prefer to drive then you are catered for too. Bluewater is a 5 minute drive from the Dartford Crossing junction of the M25 and has over 13,000 parking spaces. However, be aware that despite this amount, during popular times of the year (such as Christmas and Easter weekend) it might be difficult finding a spot and traffic has been known to queue for miles to get into the grounds. Electronic signs tell you where spaces are available which is a big help. Busy or not, many people give into temptation and laziness and park as near to the mall as they can get by parking in disabled bays or making their own parking spaces on grass banks and cross hatchings. I don't like shopping, I have to admit. I fail to see the point of shopping centres now we have the internet. You want a pair of jeans? great. *Click*. Bought. Job done, goodnight. However, for some reason I seldom find myself being dragged into places like this, Bluewater. Bluewater is exactly like Lakeside except that it's somewhere else. It's just an endless drag of boring, mundane shops. People who would be better off sitting at home or doing absolutely-anything-else are instead of bumping into people, arguing with their loved ones, spilling their fast-food over me and frantically searching for hand-bags. I don't get it. I don't get why God invented shopping. In fact, maybe shopping is in fact proof there isn't a higher power, or maybe he just enjoys seeing us fight over kitchenware. The only mildly pleasing thing about Bluewater, apart from that feeling you get when leaving it in a car, is that it has a cinema. Therefore I can say to my company "oh, um.. I just want to go look for some jeans. But really specific jeans, so I'll probably be gone for about one hour and forty seven minutes". I like Bluewater a lot - but it's awfully big! And there are lots of shops that really aren't worth the space they take up! I believe that they could make it much more condensed and still have a great deal of choice. Perhaps that way my feet wouldn't ache after walking the 1.4 miles round the thing (more for mooching in shops and deciding to go back and get that pair of shoes after all...) In all seriousness, the parking is really easy, there are lots of places to eat or get a much needed cup of coffee. Just avoid it on weekends and anytime in November or December! read more

I know for many, Bluewater is the most spectacular shopping centre on the other side of the pond. But I personally feel it's a little overrated. Okay, so we know it's huge because of the wealth of shops that it houses but it's like running a damn marathon going up and down, across and over all the floors... I feel like I've had a hardcore gym session with my trainer once it's over as opposed to a relaxing shop! Shopping centres are a little over-rated anyway... if you want the true London-shopping experience, get down to Oxford Street...it's all there for you!! Though not all is lost at a Bluewater trip...head down to the battle boats and the front - SO much fun!! read more

I never seem to have a quick trip to Bluewater. For me, this place succeeds because of good management and good design and I can't believe I was put off because it was "too big". It's very well-designed, shaped like a quarter circle, with the three major stores (M&S, John Lewis, House of Fraser) at each corner and a extensions out on each side to different restaurant areas. It is very high-end and has some small, unique shops that changes the flavour from generic super-chain mall to something a little more homely. Primark and Sports Direct have no presence here, yet you have shops like Hollister and the White Company, which is very expensive. And very white. This is up there with Westfield as the best shopping centre in the South East of England. It has a decent cinema, it's architecturally very interesting and you can stay here quite happily all day, so long as you have money to spend that is. The downsides? Everybody else knows how good this place is and it gets busy. Very busy. As a result, getting out of the place can be a nightmare. read more

FREE PARKING. (yes, capitals are necessary) So what used to be Europes largest shopping centre at one point, just outside of the M25- no doubt overtaken by the mammoth westfields, this is shoppers heaven- if you're looking for some great not so cheap, yet not so expensive goods. So, it doesn't house prada store- but im sure you can find it in their three department stores. But dear god, bluewater on a weekend day time, or during sale season or boxing day is terrifying. But thinking about it in retrospect- it's a good deal easier to navigate the crowds here where there won't be so many compared to anywhere in london. (saying that though, sale 2012- i had a bag snatched from me. SNATCHED. IN JOHN LEWIS, beware the wrath of middle class middle aged ladies). Also, good deal worth of chains- from wahaca to nandos to mcdonalds, even wasabi. So you're not stuck for choice. Even pinkberry and snog have a branch there now. read more

Based on going to Croydon, Bromley and Lewisham centres I can honestly say this is one of the better shopping centres, as it has free parking which a lot of shopping centres are lacking these days. It also has a cinema and a eating with a good selection of food choices and this is on top of the wide selections of shops with household favourites. Like I side this is on of the better centres in the greater London area. read more

Expected better in the south of england but it doesn't even compare to the bullring in Birmingham let alone the likes of the trafford center in manchester. Travelled 4 hours for the experience but disappointed. I live 15 minutes from here by car, so it's easy to just jump in my car and drive over. I know it's not to everybody's taste, but I love it here. Yes, it gets busy at weekends - so just visit any time in the week. Loads of shops, food places, lovely cinema and tons of parking. One of my favourite places to spend some money! X read more

I'm a bloke, I go shopping 2 or 3 times a year and I pretty much always go here, there is a reason for that. It's pretty easy to navigate, and for us men that's a plus. Got all your designer clobber, Topshop/Topman, All Saints, Fred Perry, Lacoste, French Connection, Urban Outfitters etc etc. You have your mega stores, Marks & Sparks and House of Fraser and after you are done shopping, there is a cinema and lot's of restuarants, the biggest plus thou is the Sport's bar, so if you men have been dragged shopping, you can sup on a few beers whilst your lady shops, Brilliant! read more

Bluewater architecturally is beautiful, props to the guy who designed it. The mall is in a circle, so once you have walked around the ground floor all you have to do is go up the escalator and walk in a circle on the top floor. You don't miss any stores! this to me is fantastic and is one of the reasons I go. They have the majority of high street stores under one roof. The interior design is also beautiful. It has different themes throughout, you will see statues of dragons, the phases of the moon and the Astrological calendar carved into the walls. If you go be sure to look around and take in the different themes. Other than the stores, in Winter they have a wonderland which had an outdoor ice rink and stalls. The ice rink last winter wasn't fantastic and quite small, but it's great for kids, they have small penguins that they can scoot around with. It also has a cinema and outdoor eating area. There are many restaurants including: Nandos, Pizza Express, TGI Friday, Pret A Manger etc. Bluewater doesn't really have any high-end stores (Gucci, LV etc) like Westfield but is great for a day out shopping, it has stores that include (Kurt Geiger, Miss Sixty, Diesel, Hollister, Tommy Hilfiger) If you are looking for an Oxford Street alternative this is your place. read more

I Love Blue Water, there is plenty of parking spaces, there are numerous store catering for all budgets and all tastes. John Lewis is absolutely FANTASTIC, could spend a day in that store alone!. There is plenty of food outlets catering for all taste and all budgets, there is a cinema, there are activities for children.. Its a truly wonderful place for a true DAYS SHOPPING!!!. This is my haven! My girls and I come here about once a month for some "us time", you girls will understand! So many shops, cafes, restaurants and a cinema! I like to treat myself to a Krispy Kreme for the ride home hehe. It doesn't have to be an expensive visit. If Bluewater is busy and you want somewhere to sit try the showcase cinema cafe - go to the far right had side of the foyer and it's there. It has dedicated seating so you're almost certain to be able to sit down. read more

I visited Bluewater today, had a very nice shopping experience...........until wedecided to eat! Where have the all the reasonable outlets from the Food Court gone??? We fancied the Chinese , but no it had been replaced with the dearer more 'common' High st. food outlets. There is a Recession on perhaps Bluewater has'nt noticed! Not to be beaten we purchased food from Marks and Spencer and had a 'picnic' in The Mall. read more

Bluewater shopping centre is amazing-- I had a lovley shopping trip today with my daughter-in-law and two grandchildren------- unfortunatley it was spoilt by a group of young teenagers throwing food around in the food hall.... nobody stopped them, I told them to stop and got a lot of verbal abuse,,, later on in the day we were unfortunate enough to come across them again in the crispy creme doughnut shop... were the started to throw food at us as soon as they saw us. Again nobody stopped them OR helped me when I told them to stop throwing food and leave the shop. One of the staff said they have lots of trouble with teenagares doing this every week-end-- Maybe Security should be looking into this.
