The first thing I noticed is that no one had on hairnets, no one. Then there was a hair outside of my food box. The food was good but could've used a little salt. The portion size was a chopped leg quarter, a corner of cabbage with slivered carrots and mostly rice and peas. This was $15.99. They were out of oxtails but most Jamaican restaurants I've gone to are always out of food or almost out. I was impressed that there were only men in the kitchen. It wasn't the best or worst Jamaican food I've ever eaten. I'd eat it again as long as they have on hairnets.

Just ordered the food to go, got home, and tasted it. So this is a pretty raw review. I ordered the oxtail and the goat curry. The oxtail came with rice and beans, steamed veggies and plantains. I asked for steamed veggies for goat curry and got double the portions. The portion size is huge! These two portions alone can easily feed 3-4 people. Such great values! Both the oxtail and goat curry are super tender (think fall off the bones tender) and well seasoned. The goat curry does have quite a bit of bones so be careful. The rice is soft and pillowy and the plantains are slightly sweet. The steamed veggies is good but needed a bit more salt. Service was fast and easy. The place is cute and there are plenty of seats.

always hits the spot. beef patties are phenomenal and perfectly spicy. the jerk chicken is always good but lots of bones so you gotta eat carefully (this being the reason for 4 stars and not 5) but the large amount of tender meat is worth it. ting soda also great. the people are very kind. sometimes there's a bit of a wait so if you want it togo i would recommend calling before you get there.

I'm disappointed in the beef patty. It tastes and looks like the frozen beef patties from Golden Krust. I thought this restaurant would be more authentic. Also, don't dine in the air isn't working in the restaurant.

What a yummy surprise! Smiling faces and warm greetings when you walk into this new AUTHENTIC Jamaican spot! You could tell they were all family they way they flowed naturally in the kitchen. We ordered Curry Chicken and Jerk Chicken. Both came with rice and beans, plantains and cabbage. The lunch portions were huge and only $7.99 during lunch lunch hours.

I got this food delivered through ubereats. I chose it because the reviews and photos on Yelp lead me to believe they had potential to be good! I tried calling the restaurant 3 times with no response unfortunately. My order was incorrect as well as this was supposed to be the veggie plate which doesn't reflect the description or images anywhere online for this establishment. They did however read my note for oxtail gravy which was nice, however that couldn't even save the lack of flavor. No herbs, salt or spices were found in this plate or tongue. Super disappointed and will not be trying again.

My meal totaled about $25 which I thought was fair for a large dinner and a side of Mac and cheese. The portions were hearty which was a plus! The ribs were really good, mildly spicy with a smoked flavor! Came with four full bones. Sauce on the side was good as well, I'd definitely order again. 8.5/10 for ribs I was NOT a fan of the rice and peas, they were different than what I'm used to and seriously lacked flavor, not authentic at all. 5/10 because the texture was at least good. Cabbage was fine, nothing to write home about. It wasn't mushy or anything but slightly overcooked and also lacked flavor. 5/10 The Mac and cheese tasted better than it looked in my opinion lol I was expecting a solid, possibly baked mac and cheese but theirs is extremely soupy and heavily seasoned (garlic taste is strong). I received a great sized for $6.25 so no complaint there. I'd rate the Mac 7/10. I'd order again but I'd probably swap the rice for Mac instead which I believe is only a $2.50 Upcharge I will return to try the jerk chicken! Overall, I liked the food I just didn't LOVE it. I almost loved the ribs but I'd still return.

The parking lot in the front was completely empty. Not a good sign on a Saturday night. It gave me pause and I considered trying a different place, but the one I checked out prior to this one was closed for repairs, and the one I tried prior to that one I literally could not find, so I decided to try it anyway. When I got there, it was empty, and I don't mean empty as in "the last few customers just left". I mean empty like "it's been dead all day". The staff were both sitting in the front chilling out. I thought, "Okay, so they've been a bit slow today." When I walked in the door, both the staff went in the back. Huh? I could understand the chef going into the back, but the wait staff?? She came back out front a few minutes later. I waited for her to direct me and when she didn't, answer minute or two later I asked, "Should I just sit anywhere?" She just nodded. Okey dokey. The first table I walked to still had food on the table from where it was not cleaned properly previously. The dishes and such were gone, but the staff had not washed it properly and you could see food on the tabletop. Yuk. I chose a different table, and sat. The waitress brought over the menu and a small basket with utensils, a straw and omelet green salsa. No chips or anything for the salsa, so I figured she would be bringing something for it later. I asked the waitress something about the menu items and honestly, she acted like I should know all this already. I ordered the mini bandeau paisa which was very tasty and I ate it all with no leftovers. It was served on a metal plate and I'm fairly certain it was warmed over, but it was the type of dish that is a bit better when warmed over so that was fine. I thought the waitress just plain didn't like me for whatever reason. Sometimes restaurants are not happy to see a single customer all by themselves, but about ¾ of the way through my meal, another couple came in and they got the same treatment. Mind you, the three of us at two tables were the ONLY customers in the restaurant. I saw no takeout orders or anything. Yet, the waitress acted like we were really taking it out of her to have her do her job. She served everything, but I don't think she gave even one smile the entire time. Honestly, even though the food was good, it was not good enough to make up for the feeling that I was not wanted in the restaurant. It's unlikely I will go back.

Ovations Caribbean Grill has got a solid line up of menu items…read more We had the: - Jerk Chicken (with rice and peas [stew chicken cravy], cabage, and plantains) - Curry Chicken - Jerk Pork - Jerk Ribs - Oxtail Mac n cheese - Veggie Patty From top to bottom: The Jerk Chicken is tender. Make sure you get extra Jerk Sauce though! The seasoning is decent and there's a low level of spice to it. I recommend mixing it in with a bit of rice for a bite (maybe a bit of juice from the jerk ribs as well). The rice and peas are fine, but the stew chicken gravy is the star of the show. I'd get extra stew gravy on top next time I come. The cabbage is nothing to write home about, but its good fiber and doesn't clash with the other flavors of the plate. The plantain was fine as well, nice and sweet and best eaten when you first get your plate. The curry chicken is tasty! (Tender aswell) It almost falls apart in your mouth and has a decent moisture to it from the curry. Its good by itself, with the rice, or eaten with some coco bread. The jerk pork is fatty and has a good jerk seasoning flavor (not spicy at all). Its probably the most tender meat they have and its good even after being reheated a short time. The jerk ribs were my favorite! The ribs come off the bone easy and the sauce that comes on them is the best jerk sauce in the restaurant. I definitely recommend trying them if you like jerk or pork. (For a fuller, spicy note of flavor, get the hot jerk sauce to dip or pour on the ribs.) The Oxtail Mac N Cheese is okay, but its nothing too special. There's less cheese in the equation than a typical American Mac N Cheese, but the Oxtail is pretty good. Fatty, soft to chew, and almost buttery, I appreciate the influence, but I'd prefer a cheesier and saltier version of this dish. The Veggie Patty was great! I think the patties are homemade as I've never had such a good vegetable patty. I'd come back for the patties alone! The coco bread we got sat for a bit so it wasn't as soft, but I suspect thay was my fault. TLDR; I definitely recommend this restaurant! Its a 4 to 4.5/5 considering what Jamaican food in Georgia typically tastes like. We had leftovers that were good the next day! Get a jerk pork, a patty, some jerk Chicken, and make sure you get extra jerk sauce and extra gravy for your rice.

It was incredibly flavorful, tender, and easily one of the best fish dishes I've had in a long time. If I return, that's exactly what I'm ordering again. We started with the empanadas, which were tasty, but at around fourteen to fifteen dollars for two, I didn't feel they were worth the price. The tostones were very good--large, flat, and well prepared. I do wish they offered cheese with them, but they paired nicely with the fish and other meats. I ordered the chef's board because I wanted to try a variety. It came with roasted curry chicken, jerk chicken, lamb chops, and snapper. The jerk chicken had excellent flavor and was very saucy, so it can get a little messy if you prefer not to use your hands. The lamb chops were fine, but again, the star of the night was the snapper. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The interior is elegant, from the tables to the plates to the glassware. It would make a great spot for a date night, and there is also a bar area inside. Service was attentive during our visit, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Parking is plentiful since the location is in a large lot. Overall, I'm glad we tried it.
