Real life pretty woman moment. The sales associates were rude from the minute I walked in the door. I was in yoga pants, no makeup and a ponytail and felt sized up immediately. She was an older woman. Extremely rude and watched me walk around the store. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. They didn't have the product I wanted but I'm not sure I would have made the purchase. I will deal with the crowd of young teenage shoppers at Sephora rather than be made to feel like this. Never again will I go to this store. read more

Very unsatisfactory experience. I tried to give them business many times and I have to say I prefer shopping online and waiting longer for a shipment than deal with the sales people in that store. read more

It's so dumbfounding that the people who work here are so rude. Do they not know that they are basically minimum wage workers and not CFO's and have no reason to be so snobby? Every review mentioned the same problem yet the owners must not care? read more

Beware of misleading store policies! You'd better be 100% sure you want the product you are about to purchase, or else.... I was shopping for a specific hair brush for my grandmother who lives out of the country and found the item here. When I asked what the return policy was on the product, the cashier told me 30 day return policy with the receipt (sounds okay). What she failed to specify only after she swiped my credit card and I already signed that they only issue store credits and no refunds at all! I hope that my grandmother will be happy with the brush, as it was extremely expensive (close to $100!), otherwise, I am stuck with a store credit in a store I never shop at on a regular basis. Not cool at all! :( read more

The rudest sales staff I've ever encountered. The employees seriously need training in customer service. I decided to take my business to Sephora instead. read more

Came here recently to get a few eye products and the staff was super attentive. They were able to get exactly the product I needed and made recommendations for others that might compliment the look I was going for makeup-wise. They were not pushy at all which I appreciate. I would come back here again. read more

I stopped here recently and was really put off by the customer service. Incredibly disinterested and snobby salespeople. I received no greeting and they didn't bother with telling me about the holiday promotions (which I heard them telling other customers about). I decided to leave and go spend my money at Sephora across the street (they have a lot of the same brands and are way nicer!) Ladies, you are in Hingham not Manhattan - spare us the attitude. read more

If you value your money and customer service, don't waste your time at Blue Mercury. When I had an issue and placed a complaint, it took customer services 11 days to respond taking NO responsibility for their new and confusing rewards program where a reward expires within a month. I was one day late and they would not honor the reward after I had spent over $700 last month- when I did not respond in 2 days over a weekend to their unsatisfactory answer Blue Mercury closed the ticket and would no longer address the issue. This company does not value their customers! With Sephora and Nordstrom right down the street I will buy my make-up, skin care and perfume elsewhere. Make-up Websites offer better deals and customer service. Stay away from Blue Mercury read more

I went in with a product that I unfortunately wanted to return. I had bought the product about two weeks ago and just didn't have time to get back to the store with my work schedule, the only problem with the product was that it was causing my skin to turn red. I got harsh attitude from the sales associate, who talked down to me about the reason for the return. ON TOP OF THAT. I asked her what would be best for deep wrinkles, to which she flatly responded "botox" without looking up from the computer. When I nervously chuckled because I thought that was a joke - considering the fact that I was shopping in a beauty SUPPLY store and not a doctors office - she coldly said to "I was being serious. Botox is what you need" - awesome customer service skills in this store. NOPE. read more

I had an appointment for myself and my mother for makeup on my wedding day and could not have been more disappointed. I made the appointment well in advance stating my needs, including requesting lashes (i was told the day of that no one was able to apply them). during our visit, the employees stated multiple times that they were not the make up artist but continued to apply the make up in an unprofessional way while we sat there for over an hour. I had to cue many normal techniques that should have been done without asking (primer, highlighter, and symmetrical application). during the visit, I was told by an employee that I would not be charged for a full bridal application due to insufficiencies but when I left for the car my mother was charged full price. read more

The staff at bluemercury Hingham is phenomenal. So knowledgable in skincare, so personable! Willing to help with anything.

Unless you are in the market for something ungodly expensive go to a Sephora. The women who work here are too pushy and forget they are working in Hingham and not LA. read more

Highly recommend Courtney! She is an amazing esthetician and has really helped me with my skin. The first time I saw her, I had booked a microdermabrasion session which is pricey. After talking with me and looking at my sensitive skin, she advised against it. I appreciated her honesty and willingness to accommodate my skin's needs rather than pushing an expensive treatment on me. I've seen her a bunch of times now and she is incredible. She takes time to ask about any skin concerns I have and recommends products without being pushy. Plus the facial itself is so relaxing and my skin glows afterwards! read more

Ikram at Bluemecury is fantastic. She helped me with makeup for a wedding and was so professional, knowledgeable and patient. I recommend having her help you when you go to Bluemercury. Six stars for her! read more

Had a wonderful experience here today thanks to Ruth in the Hingham location. Note to all...if you go into a Blue Mercury ask for a Blue Mercury sales rep, as opposed to a vendor working with only one product line. They sell all lines at every price point. I had an unpleasant experience at the Chestnut Hill location and called Nicole in Hingham, the manager and she listened to my concerns and let me know to bring what I was sold back in and they would find me the correct products. I walked in on a Sunday, albeit a busy one and Ruth sat with me and went over everything I needed and tips to help me at home. She did not try to push me into just one line of makeup and skin care! My eyes and face have never looked and felt better, thank you Blue Mercury in Hingham! read more

Had a wonderful experience at Blue Mercury, thanks to Ruth. She was extremely helpful and gentle in her approach. She let the products (and her skillful application of them) sell themselves. An ideal salesperson! read more

This was the second time I had been in this store to purchase cosmetics items and both times left leaving the items on the cashier counter. Just a note, I would have purchased a few more items than those left on counter if the sales person had been at all attentive and helpful. The staff I encountered both on visits were absolutely oblivious to the meaning of customer service. My daughter also had a similar experience where she said they totally ignored her. Go to Sephora or Nordstroms - they know customer service! read more

I was in last week, two lovely ladies Nicole and Lauren I believe was her name, were both SO helpful. I was really just pondering around the store not really looking to buy anything but asked what's been popular and they said their store brand M61, so knowledgable both of them and sweet. Didn't feel like a typical commission based store. BTW, LOVE the M61 eye cream and glow peels I purchased! Will absolutely be back, thanks girls! read more

I was shopping at Derby Street when I went into Bluemercury for a lipstick. The woman who approached me wanted me to buy Laura Mercier, she told me that is who she represents. I told her I have tried it but prefer Bobbi Brown. She was so rude to me and told another sales associate to help me with Bobbi Brown....again so rude. I shopped local for presumably better service but should have gone to Macy's. My sister had the same experience with the Laura Mercier sales associate..I think the only way to get decent service here is maybe to have the sales help work for Bluemercry not individual cosmetic lines! read more

I agree with Jeanne from Marshfield - I have been in the store several times and they are the worst group of sales people I have ever encountered. I drive an extra 20 minutes to go to Nordstrom just because I refuse to go in there anymore. They do not know the products at all, I went in to purchase a product I have been using for years and enjoy and they ignored my request for the product and tried to actually talk me out of buying it! They are rude - snobby and I cant say enough to let you know how bad this store is. read more

My skin has been the source of trouble for me the past few months until I began seeing Courtney. She has helped me to understand what is right for my skin and she took the time to explain advantages and disadvantages of various products based on my problem areas! After a particularly difficult bout with acne, she called a few days after my facial to see how my skin responded to the facial - she is incredible! Courtney is also very sensitive to the fact that some products may not work for everyone, and has encouraged me to return anything that isn't working for me. Additionally, all of the staff that work at Blue Mercury at the Derby Street Shoppes are friendly and helpful! I highly reccommend trying it out! read more

After what happened to me today. I will never shop there again. :( . I went in and grabbed the color that was behind the tester, of the color I wanted to purchase. Wouldn't it only make sense. Of course I should have looked at the box before I purchase..after a I figured it wasn't the right color. I went back immediately. The lady made me feel like a pain in the ass, or she was "assuming" I was stealing. When really they are the ones that don't have a full stock of products. And put other colors in place to make it look like they do. And on top of it!!!!!! When I got home and finally opened it. ( a different color that I would be happy with) it was not even full!!!!!!!! And box had color all over it. Most likely I ended up with an exchanged.. I learned my lesson always make sure you are buying the right product.. Also. If you are in your mid 20's . And sick and tired of people watching you like a hawk too make sure you are not stealing. And just want to shop in peace. Don't go in to buy products! And Bluemercury this is for you! Stealing is for white Trash! I bet 2% of customers are or 14 year old girls.... Get cameras! So you don't make people feel uncomfortable. I work hard for my money like most people do. I just like to shop in peace. read more
