My visits are literally not painful. They explain all my options, they have good office hours, and I trust them 100% with my care. I feel confident when I smile because my teeth look terrific. They always ask a lot of smart questions, and my hygienist even helped me figure out a medical (non-dental) issue based on her observations about my throat. This kind of care is so rare! This team is professional in every way. I will never go anywhere else for my dental needs.

I recently scheduled a new patient appointment as it had been over a year since my last cleaning…read more Unfortunately the earliest date was October 12th for exam/X-rays and October 29th for a cleaning. Luckily some time became available and Jeanine emailed me to see if I could come sooner so I was able to get a much earlier appointment with Dr. Shwartzman. The front desk staff is very friendly and the office is very clean. They treatment rooms are very neat and have giant flat screen monitors to see you X-rays. The dental assistant Adrienne was very professional and friendly. Dr. Shwartzman is extremely knowledgable. I had gotten a Cerec crown a few years ago and had felt it wasn't done right but since I really liked me dentist I took his word that it was okay. Well she confirmed that there was a margin where it was not completely sealed and needed to be replaced. Otherwise it would become decayed because of the space. He had buffed it down because the bite was off after putting it on. Unfortunately because it wasnt properly glazed the material it was made from is very abrasive and it was causing damage to the teeth above. I was obviously disappointed that I had spent $1500 on a faulty crown but appreciative that she noticed this. I also suffer from TMJ. It's awful. My doctor basically told me that I could take ibuprofen and apply ice/heat for pain. She mentioned perhaps I could get some physical therapy and buy a mouth guard from CVS but that was it. Dr. Shwartzman did a thorough exam and explained that my jaw was out of alignment and that was why I was in so much pain. The good news was that they offer a wonderful treatment plan and a custom made mouth guard to correct TMJ!!!!! I was under the assumption that this was something I had to live with. So after a very thorough exam, Dr. Shwartzman designed a treatment plan to correct and replace old dental work. She started with the most important things like the defective Cerec crown and TMJ. Going forward will be a long expensive road but I feel confident putting my dental care in her hands. I would also like to mention that Dr. Shwartzman did an exceptional job on my husbands bridge. First they whitened his teeth then made the bridge. They provided him with before and after photos as well. I was very impressed. This prompted me to leave my longtime dentist and schedule with Dr. Shwartzman. I'm glad that I did and am looking forward to a healthier, prettier smile.

I have had fillings, crowns, and root canals with no problems. Dr. Ahn also designed a beautiful bridge, which I desperately needed. I even get compliments on my teeth, thanks to Dr. Ahn. My routine care, cleanings and such, are always a pleasure with the gentle and professional hygienists on staff at Icon Dental in Lexington. My two daughters love it there as well! I never had a problem getting either one of them to the dentist. I initially came to Icon Dental because I had a filling with another provider that resulted in intense pain. After two visits to remediate the problem my pain only increased. I then asked to see the director of the practice, who had been my dentist for a few years, and was told that I could not make an appointment with him and could only see the dentist who did the filling. Since he couldn't fix the problem after two more attempts, I chose to call Icon. When they heard I was in severe pain, they saw me right away (late one Friday), and were able to adjust the "bite" and end the pain. I have been with Icon ever since, through several staff changes, with no problems. The current staff is, in my opinion, stellar! I am so happy with Dr. Ahn and his staff, that I changed my insurance a few years ago just so I can stay with them. Icon Dental is like family to me. That's how I feel whenever I'm there because of the warm and friendly atmosphere that greets me for every appointment. Going to the dentist is rarely considered fun, but Icon Dental in Lexington is as good as it gets!

Horrific!!! Run...run fast!!! My baby girl and my whole family went here for 5 yrs. We lived the…read morestaff. They were so sweet. Unfortunately the dentist was awful. My baby had to undergo extreme torture to correct all the cavities they told me didn't exist for 5 yrs. I took her there from gums to 5yrs old. When she started grinding her teeth. We then found out they were NOT a pediatric dentist office. They lied to me for 5 yrs!! The new dentist was amazing, but all in the room holding back tears as they had to address the negligence from the previous dentist office. As for me, they filled my cavities and when I told them my bite was not matching up she just randomly started drilling teeth, rolling her eyes to just shut me up . Obviously this did not fix the problem and seven years later. I finally have been able to find a Dentist who was willing to try after the disaster she had made.. for seven years. I've been grinding my teeth in order to eat to chew! The Icon Dentist made me get a mouthguard which only aggravated my TMJ and put me out hundreds of dollars. I honestly should sue them and M thinking about it since it's been about seven years and my daughter and I are still struggling from the negligence and lies that these so-called dentists dished out!

Both Dr. Harrington and his wife Dr. Fallon (as well as the rest of the office staff) are some of the nicest people I have genuinely ever met. They are a couple of the only Dr.'s that I have ever come across that you can tell right away genuinely care about their patients and their dental care. They take the time to explain everything up front, whether it is necessary or not, and exactly what will be covered by insurance. This is one of the few places I have gone to where I've never felt that they were trying to "up sell" me on anything that I didn't need done. I have referred several friends here and will continue to do so and go here as long as I live in the area!

Dr. Maria Moser attempted to do a tooth implant on me. I say 'attempted' because it was botched-…read morethe abutment part was too big. She even said this right out loud, in surprise, as the procedure was getting underway. She went ahead however and tried to put the thing in anyway. As she tightened it into place I almost screamed and fainted; this was far and away the most painful experience I've ever had, in a dentist's office or outside of one. The pain didn't let up and five days later I had her take the abutment and crown back out. She put me on a course of antibiotics to try to stop any infection from the obvious swelling that had begun (see the picture). I rejected her offer to try the whole procedure again, this time with a "tissue punch", and had the botched part redone by a dentist who'd been voted the 'Best in Boston'. Dr. Moser never apologized or expressed remorse and of course never refunded the thousands she charged me and my insurance. I'm currently pursuing legal action against her and filing complaints with the local and state licensing boards.

Let me start off with that I'm incredibly happy to not be writing the first review for Dr…read more DiMattia. I've been going to Dr. DiMattia for as long as I can remember. I even make the drive from the North Shore to Lexington to continue with such a tremendous dentist. From the moment you enter you are greeted by the most lovely women working the front desk. On certain days even Dr. DiMattia's wife is working. They remember most patients by name and will inquire about family, work etc. I usually see Joan for my cleanings. She books quickly because she is awesome. She does such a thorough job but you don't feel like your teeth have been assaulted. You leave saying wow so that's what they're supposed to feel like. Again Joan has worked for Dr. DiMattia for years. Having employees that stick with a dentist I think show the character of the professional. You can tell his employees hold him with high regard and so do his patients. Dr. DiMattia is personable and most importantly honest. You're never talked into unnecessary xrays, this that or anything else. Dr. DiMattia is incredibly fair on the prices he charges too. In this day and age when a good dentist is hard to find and many people fall victim to gentle dental or other national chains it's nice to know that Dr. DiMattia takes the Hippocratic oath to heart.
