The Sephora in Derby St Shoppes is a smaller store, compared to others in the area but they have a great inventory of products! I can almost always count on this store to have the products I'm looking for & the staff are all so nice + helpful. Every time I have visited this location, I have had a pleasant experience & always leave satisfied. I have ended up here the last few times Sephora had their sale (20% VIB Rouge, 15% VIB, 10% Beauty Insider, & 30% off any Sephora brand products) because I am the type of person who wants things the day of lol & many of the products I want end up being out of stock. I wish we had places like this when I was a young man in the 1980s in the South Shore area, as we had department stores that over-charged and had a pretty limited selection. Great prices. Location is a bit more cramped than some others but overall staff was really nice. Had to navigate around a lot of the display stands and people shopping but that's cool. We found the items the lady had originally purchased at the braintree location but subsequently returned due to a single employee there who was more than rude with her attitude and demeanor. Which makes us sad, because the ladies, that girls colleagues did a great job helping us prior to checking out and she went on a messed the whole experience up. Give a zero if I could. Walked in there all happy to shop. Never was greeted the whole entire time I was there. All the employees were standing around talking and putting make up on in the mirror the whole time. Half of them look like they just woke up out of bed and I would not ask them for any make up advice you don't have to wear make up to know about it, but you should at least present yourself, not like you just rolled out of bed. It is by far the white trash Sephora. They never have anything in stock and the store is disgusting in general. I asked to speak to the manager and that was a joke. I'm not sure how long she been in management for butwas extremely unprofessional and not helpful at all, and did not seem to care that her staff was not being attentive to clients. I stopped in today to try to get a shade match for Ilia skin tint and eyeliner. Kiara helped me find a great shade match and recommended a perfect eyeliner! She was so wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable about the products. Isabella at the Sephora at Derby Street was the first person to ever match me perfectly! I came to her with a lot of difficult skin situations and allergens, yet she was able to show me the PERFECT foundation. I've used Sephora foundations before, so I showed her the shade I was using which I knew wasn't my real shade. She showed my real Sephora shade for the "Best Skin Ever" foundation, 22.5N for light medium skin. I also told her how I used the Anastasia foundation, but thought my shade wasn't right. So she showed me 240N, which changed my life in the foundation game. I work at Macys and my Trend Beauty advisors couldn't help with the foundation match. read more

I normally go into a Sephora and never ask for help because I like to try things and pick out what I want. Today I went in knowing I would need assistance and after reading previous reviews was a little hesitant but this is the closest one to me. I went in first thing this morning when it opened and every single person that worked there greeted me and was pleasant. One of the workers who assisted me was very helpful and helped me pick out the product that was best for my scenario. No one was rude and no one was pushy. Everyone said to "have a good day" when I left as well. So overall I was very pleased. Perhaps they've been reading the negative reviews and have turned it around for the better. read more

I went in to buy a gift card and the girl couldn't have been more inviting and helped me pick a cute compact for the card such a great experience considering I had just left Ulta in the Hingham shipyard and when I asked about gift card the girl pointed at a pile of cards so I picked one and said I guess I will put 50 on it.. she never said a word and handed me back the card and said all set I said can u put in on a holder or anything she said why don't u buy something to stick it on... I don't like this place at all the workers are so rude and constantly asking me questions. i do appreciate the help but i wish i could have some breathing room. some lady with black hair was staring at me the whole time and i felt like she thought i was stealing and it made me uncomfortable. The manager in duty who presented herself as the store manager was rude and condescending after I had to ask for help since not one of the7 people working offered any assistance! Normally you are flocked by every person working there today not one could be bothered to help-the manager on duty and 2 employees talking behind cash desk had to be interrupted for me to ask for help at which point this manager and another staff member walked away the other looked up my information and then Pointed look up there-still no one helped-and the acting manager seemed put out when I complained and asked for help-I will order online or go to Braintree next time read more

i would give this place zero stars if i could. i went in to buy makeup and asked for help and i was given the absolute wrong colors and then i was accused of stealing. this place sucks so never go here. a woman named alexis working here stopped me on my way out and she says "you know we check the cameras" and threatened to call the cops when i did nothing wrong. read more

Awful customer service. The employees are so inattentive. I asked a staff member for help picking out a bronzer and was ridiculed. When going into a makeup store, it would be helpful if the staff members cared to help you find the make up that works best for you. This is not the case at this sephora. So disappointed. Went to have my 16 year old daughter's makeup done for homecoming. We both stressed that she did not wear much makeup and wanted a natural look. After 20 minutes, she caked on the makeup. I asked her to take some off and she said she would have to start over. While my daughter was taking it off. I heard her talking with a coworker about how she hates her job and wants to quit. She came back and took 5 minutes to reapply. We went home and did the makeup ourselves. Complete waste of our time.
